I would love to post this in the official forum but since i don't have anything newer than diablo II and wc3 so i can't. Anyway I think the whole point of the skill runes system is to customize our character but with that current way of applying it I don't think it's going to work well cause at the end everyone is going to copy and switch to the same build that one guy got it right so everyone is going to be 90%-100% similar to each others.
To prevent that instead of unlock runes at different level they should just unlock runes at the same level they unlock the skill and through using it with a specific skill get exp and level that skill+rune combo up to a higher lv (maybe 1-7 or 1-60) but the point is when someone is going to switch a rune they will pay a price and the price maybe big but still alot better than making a new character. This may cause a problem to the coder because it's a lot more work than just unlock it but for a better game play I really think they should consider this or something like this.
I dont understand how with the current setup, everyone having simular builds will work. With a skill tree system where if you put points into <improve x skill> then that ability becomes better but with the runes being equal (as in later runes are not more powerful than early ones) and all the skills / spells being swapable wouldnt you be better off swapping and changing spells / skills to suit what your fighting. (granted you wont be swapping every mob but maybe some zones will require different skills / spells)

To quote President Obama.. "Change" If u change your attitude towards this new change in the skill/rune system over the old diablo 2 system u might find it refreshing. Tbh after selecting my skills and killing a few mobs, I can go back and change it to see what is the best choice for me, or I might even change it from single dps to aoe skills if I know I will be facing lots of mobs. I fail to understand your argument at all. The change will help u tryout different skills so that u can either have fun or get an achievement. To limit it like the old ways, maybe u be better playing diablo 2 instead.
To me change is good, we all just need to adapt to it and find ways to entertain ourselves better.

I understand what you guys say but then it defeat the purpose of customization, don't get me wrong I like the fact that you can just unlock the runes at some level rather than have to farm for it but like I say there won't be any customization or changing any skill cause everyone is going to the same build at the end.
