Do not want. Mainly because of the RMAH and the fact that it'll make Diablo players hungrier for loot than ever before. I definitely see hassling/begging being an issue for many players including myself. I'd rather have it kept private and simply ask about loot during breaks in town and not in the middle of the dungeon.
What I'd like to see instead is some sort of loot filter that will make your loot drop for everyone, based on quality. For example, I may want to keep all drops personal except for junk, normal and magical (blue) items.
If the RMAH wasn't in the game you would probably have more of a reason but people would want the option to hide there drops, and if that happened others would be unhappy that its being hidden.
I don't think the RMAH makes a diffirence. I seriously think public broadcastig of loot would ruin the system either way.
Ex. ((message: Proletaria picks up "AWSOME 2h MACE")) and i'm a WD. Barbarian in my party instantly hits the ceiling and starts offering me whatever happens to be in his stash. I'm annoyed.
If I want to offer this mace to the barb, that's my perrogative. Similarly, I really don't want to see my WD loot dropping for that barb because that too would simply annoy me. If he wants to offer the item to me for sale/trade, great. Otherwise, it may as well not exist to me.
Yeah dude, but the RMAH is the root of all things evil in D3. How can you not agree with this?!?

Ok, I don't see how RMAH is the problem here. RMAH is a feature you can choose to use or not, I was just stating how ti does add more value to items. In general the principle of the argument changes regardless of the feature. People will want to have a chance for the gear regardless of RMAH, IGGAH, or a third party only AH. Items carry weight, and people will want it.

I have seen several valid reasons for not wanting this feature, and I for one would have to agree. In addition to all the reasons given so far, it has been said that anyone who intends to max their crafting abilities will indeed have to salvage some valuable items. So these items can go to better your characters crafting, put some cash in your pocket, or help a friend. It's all one's perogative. Broadcasting what loot everyone in the party picks up will only cause drama.
Just an fyi, if you're playing with me and we kill an end-act boss, the first thing i'm going to ask is "what didja get?". I feel like I won't be the only one. At the very least will we be able to link items in chat ?

That was sacastic humor.
Oh come now Weird, can you blame me for missing that in the present environment that swims around the RMAH.

Not to try and push at the topic that comes up in my head I must ask... what if I don't say anything?

So you are annoying in-game too?
Seriously, that's obnoxious. If they want you to know, they'll tell you.
Annoying in that I have valid opinions that have some form of truth associated with them that you choose not to confront and instead greet with straight out insults instead of forming a decent rebuttal ? Or that I'm skeptical and cynical ? Or that I don't trust companies that have a history of lying, making hypocritical statements, and reversing core mentalities with paper thin excuses? Then yes, I'm annoying.
did you even play D2 ? Because all the things you are so happy to see go seem like the exact things that made D2.

What on earth does any of that have to do with nagging everyone in your games about what just dropped?
I don't believe spam clicking drops and harassing the other players who got them "made," D2, but you are most certainly allowed your own opinion on that.
So when you kill Diablo or whomever, you're just going say "Thanks for the run, later guys!" and just log off? You're not going to be interested in the slightest what the others got? Really ?

Yarly.
Say i'm on my WD and some obviously-monk item drops. I say "hey monk, got -item- here, you interested?" That's fine. Conversely i'm also cool with the monk saying to me "hey, I just got this WD item, any interest in trading?"
What i'm not ok with is the monk saying "damn, i just got wizard loot AGAIN, what did you guys get? I bet it was monk loot =(((( omg, please trade. This game is so unfair to me."
And that is one extreme. In my opinion I feel it would be more the norm to expect people to tell you what they got. Especially end-bosses.
I'd expect it from some, maybe even most, players myself. My point is, i'm not going to ask if they aren't in the mood to divulge already. It's their loot. I don't have any claim to it. If they don't want me to know what that is, i'm not going to press the issue. Perhaps they want that item (I could potentially use) for their other character and that is why they're not telling?
Loot drama is probably the least enjoyable part of any rpg.

Not to be rude but you can expect all you want, but in reality, unless the drops are revealed by the game, then nothing is going to make anyone tell ya jack shit.
Even if they tell you what supposedly dropped you still can't be certain. If I get something that I don't want to trade and/or be haggled about I'll just lie about what I got. In a PUG I will probably just tell the 'expect-er' to go suck eggs. At the very least (using D2 items as an example), I know if I should have a Windforce drop everyone will be told I got Frostburns.
For those expecting me to tell them can 'expect' in one hand and shit in the other and see which one fills up first...
So there's really no point in seeing what others pick up because it would just be like them playing by themselves and getting items. And you don't search for other players outside your party just to ask them to give you their items, that doesn't make any sense at all.
I see what you mean. With the privatized loot, drops have been more-or-less separated from the idea of cooperative play, and I think that this idea is further promoted by the inclusion of the RMAH, where there is increased incentive to not just give away loot. In D2, drops were included in the idea of cooperative play, because everyone could see them, and everyone knew that the barbarian was grabbing the only bow in a game full of amazons.
In a sense, I think that seeing everyone's drops almost defeats the purpose of privatized loot (because it's private). Otherwise, it's just guaranteed loot.

I'm not weird... well, ok I am weird, but not in the manner you're suggesting.
(And my emoticon should've given it away)

Not really. Most players will brag about their loot. I never implied benevolent motivation.
