I'd want all the characters to be realistic... no huge breasts - that's a sign of bad metabolism, lack of fitness, and bad food. Legs, just normal legs, please, assuming they don't eat all day long. Clothes should vary from character to character. I think the WD female looks fine. Not sure about the barb one, didn't see her clearly enough. In DII they did it correctly. They just need to carry over the idea to all the other classes. I'm not worried.
I for one fully support the shameless sexification of the female versions. Let's be honest, it's pretty much a staple of fantasy.

The thing is, I totally agree, but I don't think that having an unmanageable bra size is required to make the female form truly sexy. Taking a serious look at it, how could the amazons fire their bows over those ginormous breasts? You know, the real amazons back in the day used to amputate a breast so that they could better perform their deadly art. Much in the same way, I can't imagine ungainly breasts being conducive to swinging heavy steel.
Now, spellcaster classes (such as the sorceress from D2) would be within the realm of reason to totally "sexify" because they are using arcane energies and not their bodies to perform their abilities. But then, if you make them too visually attractive in comparison to the others, they would probably get played too often and it would skew their attractiveness accordingly.
All in all, if it is balanced properly, having great figures with armor that displays them accordingly is good for business. Just as long as they don't get stupid about it.

No, rubbish. Big breasts = sickness. It's not a good thing. It won't be for anyone. Sorcerers, I imagine, are wise people, and wise people do not bother putting silicon in their body or overeating. They learn magic. Magic takes time and concentration...
Just makes females fine-looking. You don't have to make them degenerates with silicon boobs and huge asses and other things that for some reason attaract men.

I might beg to differ, here. Just because someone is highly intelligent and spends a lot of time focusing their minds does not mean they would completely neglect their bodies. Having a fantastic figure does not require silicone or under/overeating.
As far as "attracting men", well, real women have been doing whatever it takes to attract men for as long as the species has existed, that's probably why the human race (as well as every other existing mammalian species :D) continues to thrive. Not to mention the fact that there are plenty of women out there that find large breasts on other women attractive, as well.
I'm not saying they should look comically disproportionate. Being realistic would work. Athletic women are sexy. Look at tennis players, volleyball players, etc..

Maybe the absolute upper echelon of bodybuilders, but in the every day world, no, women are very much capable of the same physical labours that men are. The women who do not do those things simply choose not to because -- and let's face it, who can blame them -- they don't have to.
Capable, sure, I suppose if you want to pose the question that finely. The point is they do not excel at much of it. This is fact. Even men and women who do not exercise exhibit the same tendency. A male who does not exercise is generally going to be stronger and better suited to physical exertion than his counterpart female. Men have a far easier time keeping off fat and holding on to muscle mass than women do.
This is really pretty basic physiology. Even feminists don't argue that females are par with males in this sense.

I agree with you completely, and at the same time, I don't see why large breasts are always so vehemently dogged in fantasy games. Done right, small OR large breasts can be very appropriate, appealing and artistic.
Same can be said for men and their packages, not all men are equal, why be ashamed of that?

Okay, look, you are splitting hairs, here. In regards to everyday activities, my wife and I can accomplish the same things that the other does. What activities are you referring to that one of us would be better suited to perform than the other? Seriously? Neither of us bench press cinder blocks or lift cars for a living, so what are you talking about?
In a fantasy setting, epic adventuring men and women of the same class will be able to perform the same duties with the same precision. Explain to me how a man can do a whirlwind better than a woman, or vice versa? Can she summon bigger, badder pets than him? Do her locusts leave more meat on the bones than his? The exact same effects will result from the exact same abilities from two different people, trained in the same tactics as the other, whether male or female. If you really want to split hairs, some men can outperform other men and some women can outperform other women, should we take the time to add THAT level of realism to a video game?
Seriously, the difference you are referring to is all but negligible except in the most extreme of circumstances.

Very true. Some of the hottest girls I've met in my life have been somewhat flat-chested.
As a side note, I never played the Amazon in D2. I hated her character design.

The first post I quoted was "And rightfully, they shouldn't be; men and women are equally capable in the real world of physical and mental labors with very, very few exceptions."
Your reasoning was that because women and men are equal in real life, "with very, very few exceptions", they should not have different in-game stats. I was merely pointing out that your assertion was very, very incorrect especially when you put that quote into the scope of the game (combat especially). Women are not equals in this sense.

It's true. People can go on and on about equality of the sexes, but you can't beat biology. Mmm mmm testosterone. However, the choice of gender should be purely aesthetic.

But I am right, and combat is definitely no exception, other than ungainly breasts being in the way of a sword/bow arm -- something a true warrior wouldn't stand for in the first place. And, when you take the scope of video games, they are definitely equals, and I defy you to show me any mentionable exceptions in modern (or even classic) gaming that prove otherwise.
Having a fantastic figure does not require silicone or under/overeating.
Big breasts are not a fantastic figure (read: healthy). Averages ones are. You are missing that point, are you?

Which is pretty strange. You never find huge breasts in nature, so I guess originally it was planned the "bigger=better" system would work fine. But now we have too much food...

First of all, big breasts CAN be very beautiful. If they weren't, why would so many women aspire to have larger breasts? Whether either of us agree with that or not is irrelevant, that's just how it is. "Big breasts are not a fantastic figure" is purely an opinion, one that you do not share with the entire world.
Secondly, yes, big breasts are found in nature. There are a great number of women every year that have breast reduction surgery because their natural size is too cumbersome for their bodies to handle. I've heard of a number of women that have had multiple surgeries because the first one or two did not reduce them enough!
Finally, I would appreciate staying on topic. This is not a discussion about real world breasts, this is [supposed to be] a discussion about the female form and how we all would like to see it portrayed in the Diablo III universe. On that note, your opinion is very clear, and I thank you for your input.
Women want equality. Yet when a guy hits a girl everyone goes "omfg you hit a girl!?" Neah. What women want is to be paid equally and be able to vote equally. Just look in the world of boxing, male boxers are alot stronger than female boxers. For example there isnt a woman version of mike-tyson. Basketball, there isnt a female michael jordan.
But in a game, Im sure they want equal stats ha.
Anyway, Horny Goatman, i think that picture is too cute and soft. its too anime-ish. We need a darker kinda theme, more mature, more revealing :).
Maybe at a younger age... after the woman gets 30+ big breats start to weigh down and... well, she looks like a cow. Which is what big-breasted women are. Cows who don't value themselves the way they are.
Quote from "SmashBoy" »

Because primitive men like larger breasts. They do not understand where large breasts come from (overeating, no exercise, silicon), they do not understand what they cause (women can't move as much), and what they become later (weighted down). Most intelligent guys I met prefer small-average breasts. And/or accept the woman the way she is.

I'm sorry, what does that have to do with nature? That's not nature. That's civilization. Breasts feed on protein, which today's women have plenty of. Nature is deprived of big quantities of protein.

My opinion is that it should be realistic, realistic as to women in Diablo III shouldn't be girls who overeat and don't exercise, whether they are mages or not.

(1) "Big-breasted" is in the eye of the beholder. What you consider too large is not going to coincide with what everyone else thinks.
(2) Large breasts do not always cause these afflictions you suggest.
(3) Even the most civilized people have vices, and men are not the only reasons for breast augmentation surgeries. Women do it for themselves, and for other women, in addition to men.
(4) When women develop them without the aid of prosthetics/enhancements, how is that not "natural"? Proteins are natural, food is natural, exercise is natural, whatever in the world you mean by "nature is deprived of big quantities of protein" completely escapes me.
(5) When it's all said and done, it is just your opinion, for which I've already thanked you for sharing.
Anyway, back to the topic, I haven't really seen any pictures shown here that I wouldn't enjoy seeing in the game, but I guess I'm easy to please. Personally, I think the female form is beautiful and perfect, whether it's plump or petite, as long as it looks natural and well-toned. I look forward to seeing what the other classes are, and the figures that the female versions of each class will be given.
Of the suggested classes from other threads, what do you think would make the most appealing female characters to play, and how would they look (in your mind)?
Example: I would love to see female necromancers, though I doubt the class will survive to D3, but I think they should have very tall, slender bodies with sickly pale complexions and either jet black or albino white hair. They should look very underfed!
