I know a lot of Diablo fans are fearing that the day Diablo III will be announced will never come. Don't worry, it will happen. It is being delayed for several reasons:
Blizzard has learned with Starcraft: Ghost. Don't announce a series until it is well into its development stage and so much has been invested in it that its cancellation is no longer an option. Only when they have a build of some sort will they even dream about announcing D3. It'll happen.
It is not business smart for Blizzard to announce D3 so close to Starcraft II. SC2 will provide them with plenty of interest and publicity and so the announcement for D3 won't come until late 2008 or 2009 at least. If the past trends of Blizzard indicate anything, Blizzard won't stack big releases.
With that said, there is also another Blizzard trend. Traditionally the next game that is released after a big release is an expansion. D2, WC3, WoW to name the last three. So expect SC2: Expansion to take precedent over D3. This doesn't mean that they won't announce D3 while the expansion to SC2 is under development.
All in all, expect something like this from us:
October-December, '08:Release of Starcraft II
Q1, '09: Announcement of Diablo III
January, '10: Release Starcraft II Expansion
Q4, '10 : Release of Diablo III
Remember a WoW expansion will happen for some time too.
Visually they would have a better engine then they did when they first started WoW then. We dont need to worry about how the game will look, Blizzard doesnt rush games anymore
Dont mean to break anyones balls here but um... isn't this the same thing that a thousand people have said by starting new threads? like pepsidude said.. dont post something someone else said and paraphrase.. wev all thought of this stuff..
All in all, expect something like this from us:
also.. dont say "US" cause we dont fucking believe anyone on here who says theyre from blizzard
we gotta assert our authority, we're the ones on top. we are in command. we have to say:
"Blizzard, just announce it. we will onlly love you more if we have at least a shred of what is to come. just show us a picture of a new character hero, and we'll wait patiently. the only reason we are angry is because we dont have anything."
i know what blizzard goes through though, im working on the novel with elfen, and we will not reveal ANYTHING to you guys before its finished. all i can say is that it looks great so far, even if its only like a page or two.
there are many main characters in the novel, but not even that will be discussed. there may be listings of people in the novel, and maybe their importance, but not necessarily the main characters.

Logically, this doesn't make any sense. We know that they have a third team that is developing something. Starcraft and Warcraft series games are developed by the same team. There is a different team for WoW. What is the third team up to? Either new IP, or a Diablo game. Considering the job posting for a medieval/gothic artist from a year or so ago, it's almost assuredly D3.
This means the SC2 expansion has nothing at all to do with Diablo 3. We'll probably see a D3 announcement by Blizzcon, at the latest.

So, if, lets say, SC2, WotLK, and D3 were all annoucned at the same time and released near each other... The sales would remain the same?...
Quite frankly, yes. While those of us rabid to post on a messageboard like this are fans of Blizzard in their entirety, and likely have played and will continue to play all of their games, the average person buying them, isn't. The majority of the people into Starcraft probably did not buy Diablo on release day, if at all. And visa versa. While their sales would be lower the opening week, it wouldn't be by much, and within a couple of months, it would even out.
In the long run, just how close they are between each other to be released really has no impact at all on sales.
Nothing yet lol. there were 2 games on a list that were anounced a while back a couple months by vivendi. Then that last 1 was Unanounced blizzard title or game. Also this list was (directed to leipzig gc)! ( unconfirmed: Not backed by evidence, rumours. Not yet sure.) The big word in that is rumour! noch nicht bestätigte Titel von Blizzard Entertainment This is the original statement. I just got a definition. Also! http://blogs.curse.com/90/details/213/. Well Heres the evidence and proof. Would you like some tea, crumpents, and DIABLO 3!

And a whole bunch more on their backs
"Blizzard, just announce it. we will onlly love you more if we have at least a shred of what is to come. just show us a picture of a new character hero, and we'll wait patiently. the only reason we are angry is because we dont have anything."
and in greatness comes the faster release of D3.
So who is the main character in the novel?
