-somewhere between 10 - 20 or so chars, keep some of the original classes and some new ones -more warrior, priest and mage types, there are lots of classes yet to be explored and some are quite fun to play; Anti-Paladin (anti-Paladin is not a necromancer) Archer (kinda like male amazon) Bard (not the hellfire version a good one) Bounty Hunter (adept at tracking/stalking) Corsair (powerful warrior thief) Crusader Dragoon Fist Fighter Hellion (very powerful and demon like fighter but is human) Ninja (kinda like male assassin) Ranger Samurai (kensai from DND) Thief Wizard Slayer (adept and fighting enemies who specialize in using magic attacks) -some more warrior classes or warriors with a few magic spells -there is really only 1 healer (paly) and yes people like to going healers, so more healer classes one of which is a kind of exorcist, good against demons and undead; Adept Alchemist (animates inanimate objects, creates weapons out of the elements around him an can create powerful concoctions) Cavalier Cleric Inquisitor Prior Monk (not the hellfire version a good one more like the DND version) Zealot Warrior Priest (think knight's templar with spells) -a new type of mage would be nice either a; Abjurer specializes in protection magic (kinda like auras and the armor spells) Conjurer specializes in creating creatures and objects to help him Diviner specializes in detection and divining magic (find/disable trap, far sight and identify) Enchanter specializes in manipulating the minds of sentient beings Geomancer specializes in earth based magic Hydromancer specializes in water based magic Illusionist specializes in creating illusions to confuse and mislead Invoker specializes in invocation/evocation magic (lightning/magic type spells) Pyromancer specializes in fire based magic Necromancer specializes in magic dealing with death [but we already have 1] Transmuter specializes in magic that alters physical reality Warlock (not like the wow one) A supernatural character whose sinister powers are inborn abilities, not spells, Such as shapeshifting into Lycanthropes (Lycans is short for Lycanthropes) Alternatively, the Geo/Hydro/Pyromancer could be just the one Elementalist class and his skill trees are divided into Earth/Fire/Water based spells -definitely no Subclasses or Multiclasses in d3 just True classes

Elfen, your ideas are very boring and would just destroy diablo as a good gaming series. I mean a samurai in diablo...just stfu honestly.
Do you not see how lame and just pathetic that idea is?
and right off the bat you need to know that this games characters revolve around the storyline. How are they going to pull off a battle of heaven vs hell if u cant play an angel or demon but as a ninja; are you mentally fucking challenged honestly?
And all you others with your ideas, they blow too. First of all you are taking all these ideas from like world of warcraft and i hope you relize that they would not be balanced the way you are making them out to be.
I mean you want a potion maker to be a playable character? Talk about hypocritcal, you claim playing an angel or demon would be way more powerful than a human (not even seeing what their possible skills could be) when your idea of a balanced char is someone who only makes potions.
Just to let all you people know the diablo games had such great characters because of their diversity. You cant have an elementis,sorceress,mage,and monk its the same shit all based off of one char. You arent making anything new. And the game should be split into 3 factions if its going to revolve around Hell invading Heaven.
Hell: Different types of Demons, Variety of Fallen Angels
Heaven: Variety of Angels
Humans:
but damn you dont even need a BIG variety of chars, just as long as their abilities are different from one another. I would not mind playing Diablo3 with
As i see it the former chars were All different. And elfen for you to say Angels would be way too strong compared to a human you are a moron.
Because its all based around skills that they have and items, and you havent seen ideas of either.
I mean based on your thinking a PUMPED UP BARB is way too strong for a skinny necromancer. But the truth is either can be stronger based on their skills and items.
So stop acting like you know everything about this game, when in reality you dont know shit.
oi dude calm down, at which point did i say i know everything about the game, because i assure you i dont, while i do know a lot, i am far from knowing everything.
diablo II was about the battle between heaven and hell and you couldnt be an angel or a demon
most of my character ideas are not from world of warcraft like you claim, but are infact from dungeons and dragons.
how are a mage and a monk the same?
-mage: powerful ranged spells, powerful summon spells, majority of the time weak at melee
-monk: fighter, specializes in martial arts, spells increase his damage
explain how that is the same
when did i say a 'PUMPED UP BARB' couldnt be defeated by 'a skinny necromancer' thats just moronic, a necromancer could defeat a barb.
about the alchemist, like all he can do is make potions, geez cant you take a joke or something

mariospeedwagon..... elfen is right....angles/demons in the game as playable chars would be way to unbalanced....think logicly here buddy not stat/skill wise...besides when did elfen state/claim he knew everything..i am here daily and have not once heard him claim that
see how long i last on the forum? like its a big privelage, I joined to find shit out about diablo3 not to see people make up shit as if they are on the blizzard team.
and if you could read correctly The Barb and Necro statement was an analogy showing how idiotic your claim that Angels couldnt be in the game as playable characters.
How can u say that when there hasnt even been talk about their possible skills? and how can you not make them balanced?
and i was compareing the monk and mages and sorceress and elementalists to show you , that you are only taking a char from other games and making them less interesting. By splitting the chars up like that there will be less diversity.
Youre taking a sorc and splitting the classes up into potion makers, healers and all this other specific stuff.
The thing that made diablo2 unique in character design and skills is the ability to take whatever path you want with your char. You could be a melee sorc if you want, lightning,fire ice, or mix. your paladin could be a healer, or have hammerz or whatever.
What you are doing is confining the originality of characters.
And elven is like making rules to post ideas...when his ideas are just either stolen or plain retarded.
It feels like im talking to a group of morons if you agree putting a Ninja Samurai Summoner Monk Warrior or Elementalist in Diablo3.
dont you people understand that The Sorc uses elements?
Dont you people relize the necromancer summons already?
dont you peopl see that paladins can heal already?
And my god dont any of you comprehend that Barbarians are Warriors for their skills are based upon skills in weaponry and shit like that.

Think logically? First of all angels and demons are fake. If you believe they are real, well good for you but you havent seen one. So to tell me to think logically in terms of reality, that evidently contradicts what you are asking.
now if you are asking me to think logically in terms of the game well than how can i think logically when i cant take into account their stats/skills. Again contradicting your statement. You are obvious another moron trying to suck up to your boyfriend or something.
Anyone that still believes that added an angel as a playable character would be unbalanced, try to understand this:
You do not know what powers they are given. So how can you compare balance issues to something that doesnt exist?
you are baseing the whole balance issue on the appearance of the character. An angel is heavenly, how can he be weaker than a human.
well in this same line of thinking lets apply it to before diablo2 was made. You would be thinking oh a Brute barbarian against a Necromancer; unbalanced.
(hence me stating this previously)
if you do not know their possible powers/skills/stats how can you make such an assumption.
now that i owned you all, please revise your possible characters for the next game. Id rather have the same diablo2 chars again , rather than your stripped down pathetic and un-unique suggestions. And im not saying i do have UNIQUE AMAZING CHARACTER IDEAS TO GIVE TO BLIZZARD, but at least im not halfassing ideas shitty chars like you all are.
hmm yeah ok lets have an ARCHER class that can shoot bow n arrows and crossbows. yeah, and has the ability to duplicate herself, kinda like an amazon except different class name and she has red hair. Give me a fucking break.
This guys right all hail mario speed wagon. I bow before you great master of video games to come. You have chosen your words carefully and you are a true master of forum conversation. We should all learn from the patriarch of etiquette and common sense. You are truly wise and we are but peons in your midst.
Clearly we are outclassed in all subjects pertaining to diablo3. The knowledge that presides us befuddles the commoners mind. Oh great champion of spelling and intelligent arguement please grace us with more of your wisdom!
naw your subtle sarcasm takes the cake of the true master of forum conversation. I was doing nothing but merely replying to their statements directed towards me.
and i never claimed to know anything about diablo3, that was elven. If it wasnt for your credible and downright impressive name i would insult, but this is not the time nor the place for flames.
I am just curious on how you people can even consider playing a ninja with throwing stars in the realm of diablo. **Analogy Coming*** Waiting to hear you people wanting a racecar in warcraft as a new form of travel instead of zepplins.
please explain to me why killing cows has anything to do with slaying the devil please I'd like to hear your thoughts on that subject. And Ninjas are completley and utterly out of the question I mean comon guys a ninja? stealthy assassins are insane to consider for diablo I mean who on earth would ever think of adding such a rediculous class to a game about slaying cows and the devil
I hope you understand that the "secret" cow level was an extra bonus feature of diablo2 meant as a joke showing the humorous side of blizzard north.
of course if you were being sarcastic again.
Socrates Said:

I thought you had a better head on your shoulders from your post prior to this one, i suppose i was wrong. You arent worthy the title of that great philosopher.
A man that knows something, knows that he knows nothing at all my friend =)
I just wanted to get the point across to you that flaming others ideas really is a big waste of everyones time

am just curious on how you people can even consider playing a ninja with throwing stars in the realm of diablo
was really not thought out very well due to the popularity of the assassin in diablo2 it is not outlandish to consider a ninja part of the diablo realm considering it is already in fact part of the realm. Do you understand where I am getting at? You were criticizing the comment about having a ninja that throws shruikens, yet the assassin was a chosen class for diablo2 so why is it so hard to belive that a ninja or what have you couldnt be used in diablo3? Certainly your point did not say anything about it already being part of the character class just thought it was outlandish to consider a ninja in diablo 3
well i think that it would just be best if they made it like WoW you choose a class then you could mix with another. example keep all the same char. from diablo 2 exept make it so you could make a rouge by like mixing a paladin and an amazon or like a warrior with a paladin and barbarian. ya know something along those lines
I just wanted to get the point across to you that flaming others ideas really is a big waste of everyones time

first of all you dont have to read anything i type.

yes precisely, that is what im saying. If you can picture moves such as a stealth kill place it into the amazon skill tree. Not make an entire new character based upon that one skill. I assum you arent understanding that im using this example in the same way as i did the sorceress; Dont make a branched off char of a sorceress because it will only lower the want to play the chars due to no originality in their skills/features.
You are telling me you would be fine with the new diablo3 after waiting soo many years for its release to have: barb,sorc,amazon,druid,paladin,assassin
plus a warrior, elementalist, hunter, beastmaster , monk, and Ninja?
And it is outlandish to want a ninja in diablo3, given my current mindset of every depiction of a ninja in my life. Even if an assassin was not in diablo2 i still wouldnt want a Ninja in the game based on , like i said every depiction ive seen of ninjas and samurais.
you are telling me that you want to play a char with smokebombs ninja stars and martial art tactics in the Diablo Universe? Might as well put a hockey player with Knuckle Puck SHot +34-38 dmg with %18 percent dmg increase based on StickHandling sticks as a possible playable character. Do you want the diablo franchis to end the trilogy with this shit? are you serious, my lord.
oh and satansanta, i do not agree. I think mixing of those character types right off the bat would be, lets say Unbalanced. Depending on if this is what u had in mind; characters being able to choose like Orb and Hammerz together... way uneven. or plain boring because everyone would have orb hammerz and necros bone cage.
How about this as an idea based off yours; build your character type from the ground up. Like you design your char, facial , hair, height,weight all those features , name him and then u enter the Town in diablo3. Where along your way you can choose your skills.
couple ways you can do this: when u get full exp instead of getting a new skill point to use on your skill tree, you get a skill point to buy training from someone in town.
And this could be done different ways: A fellow player could train you, and they get experience for it, or an Npc can train you. (based on how much time they spend training the char exp is received so people arent abusing it)
Another way of doing skills is the WOW way, you purchase your skills with money. however they would have to totally revamp the money system in this game to where it plays a better role. Honestly, i wouldnt mind see the silver,copper,gold thing in the game.
Depending on where you put your skill points, you are restricted to certain skills.
yeah, so this is an idea brached from yours Satan if you guys really like the idea of mixing skills. I personally do not, mostly because i think there would be mega balance issues.
I still truely believe the best possible idea for Diablo3 is the Humans being allowed to pick a side to fight for, when they become aware of Hell wanting to invade Heaven. Since people would obviously take heavens side because hell has failed trying to invade the human realm i would think it would be wise to have anothe power join the Hell Ranks; Tyreal. Could just say he felt heaven/god abandoned him to fight the war against Diablo and by intervening in the human world he was banned from heaven. Id say thats a pretty solid excuse to allow diablo to corrupt you or lead the armies of hell. I dont know i just want the ability to choose a side to fight for, Heaven or Hell.
Lol classic! Although I agree with what you're saying Mario, you've got to remember this is just a forum where any old dog posts their ideas. I wouldn't worry, I don't think we'll be seeing a Japanese samurai or a Chinese (?) ninja in a possible Diablo 3...
yeah i know there wouldnt be a japanese samurai or ninja in the game, but if they would just be serious here, we could possibly come up with one Killer ass Storyline and features of a possible diablo3 and send it to blizzard. Farfetched sure but they do listen to peoples ideas for games. I mean if we all collaberate on the storyline, skills, characters, and its like 100percent legit and doable i can totally see blizzard taking some ideas from it. I know you guys can come up with good ideas too, i mean i have pretty good ideas pertaining to Skills that could be implemented in already known Characters for diablo3. For instance a new move for a sorc could be Controlled Teleportation where see can teleport a foe to a desired place ,on screen, like lets say a fire and increase the Fire intensity there with another skill. I mean we could really put our heads together On 1 gameplan for an upcoming diablo3 game and give it to blizzard, what you guys say?
you are telling me that you want to play a char with smokebombs ninja stars and martial art tactics in the Diablo Universe? Might as well put a hockey player with Knuckle Puck SHot +34-38 dmg with %18 percent dmg increase based on StickHandling sticks as a possible playable character. Wow... I got a good laugh from that one! They could call it the Gretzkydin... Anyways back to the whole Ninja thing...
It's fairly obvious that the Assassin is based off of, if not intended to be, a Ninja. The martial arts, traps, shadow skills - they all are related to a Ninja. Now, that doesn't mean Diablo III can't have Ninja's, however, it would be strange, since Ninja's actually belong to OUR world, not Sanctuary, a fantasy world.
I personally thought (based on MY opinion) that the Assassin was kind of a poor character for the expansion. All the other characters fit in just fine, and then they added this character that has virtually no similarities to the others, other than elemental magic skill capabilities. It just didn't seem to fit for me. I don't think the Ninja would be a very good class for Diablo III, I think there should be a different character that takes only a few similarities from the Ninja and Assassin:
The Drifter.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The Drifter is a character from an unknown origin, and prefers to travel by shadows to stalk and murder its unexpecting prey. The Drifter is an enigmatic character, usually cloaked in dark robes, and it roams the night reading from it's worn tome. The Drifter has been rarely spotted, but it's three main skill trees have been discovered.
Trapping Skills: Unlike the Assassin, these trapping skills unclude the use of underground spikes, arrowed booby traps, and at higher levels, enchanted mines and sentries.
Draining Skills: The Drifter has multiple skills that have been categorized as draining skills. These skills include passive skills that apply to the traps to cause bleeding, life steal, and/or mana steal. Other skills that do not apply to the traps are curse-like rituals that manipulates the enemy in a degenerate way.
Nocturnal Magic: These magic skills are most powerful when used in the night hours*, enhancing their abilities to full potential. Skills include some summoning of dark spirits, along with some dark magic skills which can heavily damage the enemy when skill points are invested.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
* - Night hours : This means during the last half of the day (night). I think if Diablo III had a system on Sanctuary that was similar to our own world (meaning Day and Night hours), that they could build many interesting ideas and concepts around it as I just mentioned above: the Drifter being more powerful at night.

-more warrior, priest and mage types, there are lots of classes yet to be explored and some are quite fun to play;
Anti-Paladin (anti-Paladin is not a necromancer)
Archer (kinda like male amazon)
Bard (not the hellfire version a good one)
Bounty Hunter (adept at tracking/stalking)
Corsair (powerful warrior thief)
Crusader
Dragoon
Fist Fighter
Hellion (very powerful and demon like fighter but is human)
Ninja (kinda like male assassin)
Ranger
Samurai (kensai from DND)
Thief
Wizard Slayer (adept and fighting enemies who specialize in using magic attacks)
-some more warrior classes or warriors with a few magic spells
-there is really only 1 healer (paly) and yes people like to going healers, so more healer classes one of which is a kind of exorcist, good against demons and undead;
Adept
Alchemist (animates inanimate objects, creates weapons out of the elements around him an can create powerful concoctions)
Cavalier
Cleric
Inquisitor
Prior
Monk (not the hellfire version a good one more like the DND version)
Zealot
Warrior Priest (think knight's templar with spells)
-a new type of mage would be nice either a;
Abjurer specializes in protection magic (kinda like auras and the armor spells)
Conjurer specializes in creating creatures and objects to help him
Diviner specializes in detection and divining magic (find/disable trap, far sight and identify)
Enchanter specializes in manipulating the minds of sentient beings
Geomancer specializes in earth based magic
Hydromancer specializes in water based magic
Illusionist specializes in creating illusions to confuse and mislead
Invoker specializes in invocation/evocation magic (lightning/magic type spells)
Pyromancer specializes in fire based magic
Necromancer specializes in magic dealing with death [but we already have 1]
Transmuter specializes in magic that alters physical reality
Warlock (not like the wow one) A supernatural character whose sinister powers are inborn abilities, not spells, Such as shapeshifting into Lycanthropes (Lycans is short for Lycanthropes)
Alternatively, the Geo/Hydro/Pyromancer could be just the one Elementalist class and his skill trees are divided into Earth/Fire/Water based spells
-definitely no Subclasses or Multiclasses in d3 just True classes

I still truely believe the best possible idea for Diablo3 is the Humans being allowed to pick a side to fight for, when they become aware of Hell wanting to invade Heaven. Since people would obviously take heavens side because hell has failed trying to invade the human realm i would think it would be wise to have anothe power join the Hell Ranks; Tyreal. Could just say he felt heaven/god abandoned him to fight the war against Diablo and by intervening in the human world he was banned from heaven. Id say thats a pretty solid excuse to allow diablo to corrupt you or lead the armies of hell. I dont know i just want the ability to choose a side to fight for, Heaven or Hell.

yeah i know there wouldnt be a japanese samurai or ninja in the game, but if they would just be serious here, we could possibly come up with one Killer ass Storyline and features of a possible diablo3 and send it to blizzard.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The Drifter is a character from an unknown origin, and prefers to travel by shadows to stalk and murder its unexpecting prey. The Drifter is an enigmatic character, usually cloaked in dark robes, and it roams the night reading from it's worn tome. The Drifter has been rarely spotted, but it's three main skill trees have been discovered.
Trapping Skills: Unlike the Assassin, these trapping skills unclude the use of underground spikes, arrowed booby traps, and at higher levels, enchanted mines and sentries.
Draining Skills: The Drifter has multiple skills that have been categorized as draining skills. These skills include passive skills that apply to the traps to cause bleeding, life steal, and/or mana steal. Other skills that do not apply to the traps are curse-like rituals that manipulates the enemy in a degenerate way.
Nocturnal Magic: These magic skills are most powerful when used in the night hours*, enhancing their abilities to full potential. Skills include some summoning of dark spirits, along with some dark magic skills which can heavily damage the enemy when skill points are invested.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
* - Night hours : This means during the last half of the day (night). I think if Diablo III had a system on Sanctuary that was similar to our own world (meaning Day and Night hours), that they could build many interesting ideas and concepts around it as I just mentioned above: the Drifter being more powerful at night.
