Hey guys, today I explain the changes coming to rifts and greater rifts next patch, as well as rolling through a G45 (T10 equivalent). I discuss monster density/xp scaling/progress, rift guardian nerfs, conduit buff, overall rift duration, and more. Enjoy & discuss!
greater rifts still need their damage scaled down radically before this can go live with the CC changes that have been implemented, i am full ancient geared on my wiz with extremely well rolled items in all slots, and i was struggling in a 54 grift (4 player) with the damage they were doing without any real forms of CC, nevermind melee characters who can't take more than a couple of hits at that level from more than a couple of monsters at a time, still a crap ton of changes need to be made before Grifts are even remotely viable, because with T7-10 being added, there is almost no need outside of levelling gems to run Grifts anymore, so without some alterations, they will completely invalidate the biggest feature they added back in 2.1 within 2 patch cycles.
I think the rift takes a tad bit too long now. Did a greater rift on my WD earlier. its not the best geared but on live i finish a 40 rift in about 6-7 min. On ptr i used 14-15 min. Seems like the progress bar hardly moves. Killed elites and everything
with the removal of perma cc I think maybe monk? not sure with be the support/dmg class...I think the barbs/monks/dagger of darts with a support is prolly gonna be the new meta group which kinda stinks since I have always been a demon hunter fan myself...I think most clear are gonna be most dependent on map/mobs/conduit...if following ptr stream seems close to what will go live.I just get confused why the devs always do this...they feel conduit (too powerful, remove it, then add it back in even more stronger) They do this with legs and skills also...I mean I dont mean to bash but it just puzzles me is all...Like introduce perma cc, semi perma invul then remove it, it makes 0 sense....
It's about time for a good meta shift . The 2 supp 2 dps ( double dh since ros release , and lately dh/wiz ) was getting really old , and booring .
There's few 70+ clear 4 man in the ptr whit a mix of monk/barb 2/2 or 3/1 .
Problem is the new meta is conduit fishing once again. It's worse now than it was before. It's back to 30s AND because there's more emphasis on trash clearing, you get 20%+ progress in the rift on trash just from 1 pylon, while doing nothing but running around. It's broken beyond belief.
Im starting to rethink my stance on pylons..Maybe tone down pylons or increase others because conduit power pylon can determine whether you fail or complete a rift, which is kinda bad rng. Either adjust them or take them out i think

See front page post on the site, Conduit getting tweaked a bit in next PTR patch. Hopefully won't be as strong as it is now. Right now it's 20-25% progress against moderate density trash. Useless against RG, but RG is easy now.

I did a solo Greater rift lvl 52 yesterday on ptr with a no way near endgame geared barb yesterday. On live server i was able to do 49 tops and thats was with a ton of luck and a powerpylon at the end.
Seems to me that they nerfed it by A LOT, and way too much imo
G50 RG in 2.3 has roughly the same hp as a G45 in 2.2.
