Over the past few weeks we've seen quite a large number of suggestion threads popping up. They bring up some great ideas, though one thing I've noticed is that some mention the increase of NV stacks.
What's your opinion on Nephalem Valor?
Is the stack of 5 too easily obtainable now that we get it from side quests, Resplendent chests as well as elites and champion packs? Therefore it should be raised?
Is the maximum stacks too low at the moment? Do people strive for more of the bonuses NV stacks bring?
Maybe they should be left as they are, but with some tweaks made?
I considered making a poll for this but I think it's better for the discussion without one because polls can sometimes cover our opinions but not all of it. All of your opinions are welcome, do not hesitate to voice yours!
My view on NV stacks is that they should be left as they are now, the bonuses are pretty good for what they are. Also sometimes when you're playing solo and you want to go and grab 5 stacks of NV before you start your farming route you can have the worst luck in finding elites, which sucks.

Bashiok - Blizzard Representative - 08/01/2011 -"So how many skill combinations are there now? Well taking into account 6 active skills, all the rune combinations, and 3 passives we currently expect each class to have roughly 2,285,814,795,264 different build combinations."
"Hey, I thought you'd like the witty irony of grub-on-glowie violence!"
I think they should be left as is. It's a good tool for stopping most quick 1-2 type farming routes from being the most efficient ( bye-bye scorps 1.08 =P ) and it's not too hard to obtain with it staying at 5 stacks.
The bonuses should stay the same as well imo. This leaves room for any type of legendaries / gear that might have an unique property such as exceeding the cap / ect.

I feel the same. Add to this the fact that we can carry our NV stacks through acts, though few people do runs in that manner. All that's needed is a way to use the WP to travel from act to act within a given game. That....would make the 5 stack seem to carry more power IMO.
I think the 5 stacks will feel a little more valuable in consideration to what we've heard about 1.09 so far. I think the over-abundance of bad rares and bad legendaries make a player feel that MF/GF is pretty worthless at the moment. Once itemization is addressed and the things we find will be a little more intrinsically valuable, the bonuses we already get will seem to be pretty awesome and definitely respectable.

God if I could pick something for D3 in the next patch, it would be the ability to make an all-in-one game. At LEAST let us go backwards in waypoints after we've gone further in acts. But you're correct, if that type of game ( doing more than one act ) became more prevalent they would feel more important.

Can you imagine the routes people would conceive if we could do such a thing? Act 4 might actually get some play time. Sometimes Blizzard discourages me with their thick-headedness.
Having to individually ID items for a full year is the perfect example. Why? Why a year? Why was it in the game to begin with? If I was on the Dev team and someone suggested individual ID'ing, I would've pounded on the table insisting how ridiculous it was. Who knows...maybe someone did and Captain Jay shot it down.
NV is working really well for his purpose: farming elites and avoid boss runs. Maybe this system is good for fast runs if you have little time left, but there is always the option to lower the MP and do an "Alkaizer" (or whatever the big name is now) run and hope for the RNG god to give something good with lower MF.
What i would like to see, as suggested above, is free travel between acts via waypoint. This will give more freedom on routes and play different maps instead of being constricted in 1 Act and 99% of the time on last quest. And let's face it, no one is farming Act 4 for simple reasons: first, there aren't enough monsters (fixed next patch): second, you need to gather 5 stacks in Act 3 to have the best efficiency (Iskaku counts as a boss, and you meet him before meeting a single elite....).
As usual i started a rambling without really answering the OP's question.... Ok....
I think NV is perfect as it is, now it's kinda fast picking up 5 stacks so you can reach the max effiency in few minutes. I don't see a reason to increase stacks and bonuses; it's not uncommon to see an Elite not dropping blues, so more MF than we have already will only increase the inflation is going on at the moment. On a side note, i remember Travis (jeez, that guy is really good when he puts down idea, or maybe a good PR stuntman, we will see) saying that they will consider removing the garantueed Rare at 5 stacks if they are going to make Yellows less common but with a lower stat range, so i don't know what 5 stacks will bring in the future if this is the case.
Ok.... i should stop derailing..... in a nutshell: NV is perfect as it is, but it would be even better with a free story, free travel mode.

Anywho......
The ONLY thing I can ever see being an issue with an open world ( just meaning all 4 acts in one game ) option would be that key farming would be a lot faster, since getting your stacks once means you can then grab two keys w/o having to get stacks for them as well. It actually might not be a problem, I really don't see the harm in letting people farm keys slightly faster. And if that's the tradeoff for being able to hop about without having to remake a game each time, I'll take it.
And even if Infernal Machine farming became less tedious, that would have no effect on the game. Right? It's not like doing Ubers is the best way to acquire items. It'd just make people a bit more able to make some more Hellfire Rings, really. That doesn't sound too awful to me.
