This video shows a method for speed leveling in Diablo 3 Beta (Patch 7). You'll need 3 people: a fresh level 1 (A), a character of any level (B), and a geared level 13 who has the Chancellor checkpoint (C).
B creates the game and runs to the Chancellor. A joins, C joins. A stays in town. C takes B's banner, B leaves, C completes the quest. A leaves, C leaves. Repeat.
Each run gives at least 3575 experience and takes about 30 seconds to complete. You can easily reach level 8-9 in 10 minutes and level 13 in approximately 30 minutes.
B is in the part of the quest were he has the chancellor's WP. He uses the WP and C teleport to him. He leaves the game and C finish the quest.
Since B did not complete the quest (because he left the game), he can creat another game wish enabled checkpoint and a living boss.
Thats a major exploit O.O
Any boss in the game who has a WP close to him can be used to power level. Looks like Blizz will have to change the WP policy
Well the real exploit IMO is that you can get quest credit and XP from the safety of town.
We are going to see alot of macro leechers in public games in time.
You know its a lot easier to just have someone do the SK event as u get 5k xp per SK quest completion.
With the same method, B(lvl 13 if ur doing SK) has check pointed to the door of SK, B invites A and C. C banners to B and B leaves the game. C enters SK's room and A stays in town and does not accept the SK event popup. C kills SK and A gets 5k quest credit!
Simple if u know how to use the system to what your after.
meh... this isnt that amazing. when i think "power leveling" i think MUCH faster then this. ive seen videos of people rushing the beta from lvl 1 SOLO and becoming lvl 10 in about 45 minutes, so 13 in 30 minutes isnt some insane over the top power leveling <_<. and you dont need 2 other people. people will always find exploits, this one isnt that great.

You have no idea how the leveling curve shifts after level 10. With this method one can get lvl 10 in ten minutes. The other 20 minutes corresponds to lvl10~13.
blizzard did say that they encourage people finding faster ways to level their characters. i doubt they will care or change it.
You're insane. This method increase your leveling speed by 350%. If this is not removed from the game, everyone will use it to get 60 faster, skipping the content they passed 5 years creating.
They want people to find faster ways, but not avoiding the very content of the freaking game.

are you implying this exploit is usable for every quest, even future quests? id like to see it used on others to verify. seems like it should be.
this specific quest exploit is lame because like you said after 10 it becomes exponentially less effective, therefor making it useless and faster to reg level around 16ish.

Considering Blizzards stance on cheating, I'd strongly advise against doing anything like this when the game is live.
Unless you like buying multiple copies of a game.
L - O - L
This is cheating how? The game allows It therefor by definition It Isn't cheating.
It's a very obviously unintended abuse of game mechanics?
aka Exploiting
aka Cheating
Since I'm sure you want more:
WoW "allowed" people to abuse the new LFR system. It was "in the game" and yet everyone who participated was punished including top raiding guilds.
Blizzard can't think of everything. There's always going to be some kind of exploit around. Taking advantage of that is the definition of cheating and they've never hesitated to punish that.

oh did you not read past the "L - O - L" sorry i should of left that out it was rude. BELOW that i said "the game allows it therefor by definition its not cheating"
the game allows it. did they stop people from repeating tristram, cows, tombs, baal runs 10,000x to power level ? nope, because the game allows it therefor its not "abuse". blizzard themselves commented on this type of "power leveling" in D2 and they said they encourage it, game over SON!

but seriously your wrong thats its cheating, i explained it pretty simply and for whatever reason you still decide its cheating even though my reply could be copied and pasted to your second one. being wrong isnt the end of the world man. be happy its not cheating cuz you can do it too! woopie

You didn't even read my edited post's example that I wrote out for you since I knew you'd try and stick to your point (as you always do). Or if you did you're just ignoring it. If you can't understand how this is an abuse of game mechanics it's fairly sad. The detailed steps even needed to pull this off should be proof that it's not intended game play. You have to make a new character every time for crying out loud. You seriously think Blizzard indented that?
The fact you can get exp while sitting in town doing NOTHING is stupid enough that I can't imagine Blizzard at least not fixing that.
This would just turn into SCII 4 v 4's where people would leave as soon as the game started and repeat to get hundreds of free wins. (Which they were banned for and the system was adjusted to deal with.) You want people sitting in town idle in multiplayer games making it harder and slower just so they can leech exp?
Also, the fact that you're the ONLY person in this entire thread arguing that it's not an exploit should tip you off to something.

what were people doing with the LFR system that was bad? and how were people punished? (proof of punishment?)
also why couldnt that lvl 1 person just take a TP or flag or whatever and be there for the kill?

I'm not positive on the details since I stopped playing WoW a few months ago. You can read about it on MMO Champion though (where I did), it was a pretty big deal since I'm pretty sure Paragon got caught in the backlash.
Long story short: Just because it's possible to do something in a game does NOT make it acceptable. Blizzard has been -very- clear on this point over the years and will not hesitate to punish abusers of the system.
