in diablo 3 are we going to be able to join games and do things like in diablo 2? or is it going to be like WoW where u got to play on a server?
and this auto stat thing, i think i hate it. feels like i wont be in control of my character. if i want to stack to pwn, then i should be allowed to. hopefully they remove this

xfire me @ crowol battlenet acc = Cr0w and TheCr0w
good if it allows some choice in stats and even like if i rush into battle taking heavy damage all the time they make special armor only for people who fight like this
bad if im just lvling how the game wants me to lvl
How is it really going to be any differnet with auto stats to how it is in D2, where you put points in str until you can use your gear, and maybe some dex if you want max block, then everything else in vitality, no matter what class you play?
Persoanlly I'd rather have this formula automated for me in d2, and I imagine that is roughly what they'll be doing for me in d3.

Join games.....not like wow where your all in one world(server)
i truely dont think auto stats is THAT bad, buy you should have an option where you want most points into.
like i believe the system now is based upon the character (ex wizard would get more energy than anything), now i dont know the exact physics exactly but lets say a wizard levels up.
+1 strength
+1 vitality
+3 energy
i think it wouldnt be bad if you had the option on each level up "where would uoi like the bulk of stats to go?" and have many options. such as power, health, speed, energy, or balanced. where points are spent in every catagory, but with the bulk going into a stat of your choice

(this build was before D3 launched... looking back on it now - i had no idea what i was doing)

Where do you recon D2 games are played on? Something like an, uhm.... server?
Yes, you will be creating instanced versions of the entire game for a limited number (speculated to be 4 to 8) of players to join. Or you join someone else's.

D2 gave you very few stat points to toy around with, most of which were marginally useless, and didn't make a difference on the long run. They mainly served a purpose to limit you to what gear you can wear, so you HAD to spend stats that are useless to you until you can wear a good piece of armour.
D3 will give you tons of stats on your gear, as D2 didn't, so that's how you will customize your chars. Gear will not have stat requirements so you will be able to experiment a lot, and make different (and even exotic) builds combining different sets and pieces. It's safe to assume that stats will mean something this time around. Many good RPGs including WoW are an example of how great this system can be.

hopefully they remove this
Hopefully they don't, and you learn it's a good thing. But that's just me hoping.
Having auto-stats doesn't imply there wont be stat requirement to items.
Where did you get this info.
I can see an axe needing str, a barb would be able to use it at a lower level than a sorc. Maybe a sorc would need to wear a +str item to wear the axe at lower level.
Removing stat requirement, even if this is auto-stat, would remove a big part of the game IMO.

sadly the auto stat thing is about final though.

I'm so sick of peole bullshitting like this. In Diablo 2 everyone had the same few builds, so they ended up having the same stats.
CyberPunk RP Nexus
It's official.
From the pictures, there's eleven equipped slots for gear: Head, shoulders, neck, hands, chest, leggings, waist, feet, 2xfingers, activeWeapon.
That adds pants and shoulders -- possibly 2-4 extra slots. So if you get all your gear lined up...

The auto-stats have been discussed multiple times, already.
Closed.
