Diablo 3 is introducing a new character, the Witch Doctor which has certain similarities to the
Necromancer we have gotten used to in Diablo 2. Although they have similar abilities, they look
different and are offered as different classes of characters.
If it was up to you, which would you prefer to see on Diablo 3, The Witch Doctor or Necromancer? As long as they don't nerf down his summoning skills to the point where they're insignificant, I'll be good.
Yes i agree, as long as they make sure he is just as important to have in your party as any other class i will be happy. I remember in the earlier stages of D2 the necro was way underpowered and almost wasn't worth having one in your party.

Ah yes... But with the right gear, the summoner can become one of the best boss killers, as well as the best tanking class.
I made a summoner with all the best stuff, and never once had any trouble... well except for when I tried fighting in the hell blood moor at lvl 60... Yea, the constant uniques did give me trouble. But 10 levels later, it was easy as pie.
I understand them wanting to give him more ways of being a pure caster, but that doesn't mean he needs to lose all authority as the optional pure summoner as well.
i cant say i havent played witch doc but as ive seen they both are equall to me and we havent seen the rest of his skills or we dont even know what the skill tree ooks like so that may not even bee 1/32 of all his skills

by far i prefer a necro, only beacuse its a diablo classic, and the necro was my favorite character to play with. but the witch doctor could be a new element that would work very well instead. only time will tell.....
I'd prefer the Witch Doctor because I'm sick to death of seeing the same names same classes for years now in several games, the necromancer is just another old rehash and I'm glad they renamed the class with some changes. It shows that Blizzard is being smart and making it a new experience.

RIP: Demon Hunter: lvl 50 | Barb: lvl 60 (plvl 5) | Monk: lvl12 & lvl70 (plvl 200)
Exactly my thoughts.... until you play the character... you cannot compare the two
