I havent played in probably 3 months so all this MP and other stuff is new to me. Been trying to read up on patch notes but I figure the best way is to just jump right in and start playing. I wanted to start over when I came back so I deleted all of my characters. WD is the only class I haven't played caused they sucked ass when I was still playing. But I have been hearing how good they are and how much fun they are because they have quite a few builds that are viable.
Just wondering, since I will be starting from fresh as in 0 gold cause I sold all my gear and gold on the RMAH before I quit, what would be the best build for when I hit 60? Also I assume I should farm with MP set to 0 until I can get my stats up. Just wondering one thing about MP that has me confused though. I read that they recently made loot have the same chance of dropping in every Act. So when it was like 16% chance for lvl 63s in only Acts 3/4 its now also 16% chance in Act 1 as well unless I read it wrong. If thats the case then whats the point of even farming Act 3? If the loot tables have been standardized why wouldnt you want to just farm Act 1 and just jack up the MP and then faceroll it?
As far as builds go for once you eventually hit 60, WD's have a lot of viable builds, but probably, in terms of speed and efficiency, a varient of the grave injustice + gruesome feast build would be your best shot. You can find a lot of info in a post on these forums called "Spirit Bears (End-Game Farming Build) by a poster called Ruppgu. Another popular end-game build is the 0 CD Zombie Dog + Sacrifice build, but I don't have any experience playing that build, so I'll give you the gist of the Grave Injustice + Gruesome Feast build:
The key is having enough pick up radius to make Grave Injustice and Gruesome Feast work. This is normally taken care of by the off-hand, Thing of The Deep (gives +20 to pick up radius).
You can swap around a few skills, it basically goes like this:
A) Get zombie bears.
B)Choose primary skill of your choice (poison darts, spiders, toads, etc).
B2) You can opt to skip the primary and just have zombie bears as your main attack. If you choose this, then pick another utility skill; more pets, horrify, mass confusion, or even acid cloud. (using acid cloud in conjunction with bears takes some high-end gear though).
C)Get the following utility skills:
1) Spirit Walk (with your choice of rune).
2) Soul Harvest (normally the damage rune).
D) The last two slots are up to you, a lot of people opt for one pet and another utility skill such as Big Bag Voodoo, some people like to have both Gargantuan and Zombie Dogs with them, some people like to use Sacrifice + Zombie Dogs (with the Pride rune for mana regeneration, or For The Master rune for HP regeneration.
E) The 3 passives will be Spirit Vessel//Grave Injustice//Gruesome Feast.

Regarding the MP, yes the loot tables will be the same across all Acts once you set your game to MP1.
In terms of choosing to farm Act 3 over Act 1, here's what I think: Act 3 has a high density of mobs. There are tons of trash mobs and elite packs in relatively more condensed areas. I find that if I farm act 1, there's a lot of downtime where I'm not killing things.and just running around looking for things to kill, whereas in Act 3, I'm almost always downing some mobs or elite packs while progressing through the areas.
He definitely has some good points. I'm running the spirit bears build as well with minor tweaks to fit my playstyle better. Really works great on mp4. Haven't been able to progress any higher though without dying a bunch of times. Happy farming!
I have tried a lot of different builds and I farm strictly MP5 + in all acts. There is nothing, in my opinion, that is better or faster then bears with Gruesome feast, grave injustice. To make the build work really well though you need a lot of mana regen, I suggest working on collecting some form of the Zuni 4 set, and then you can use pierce the veil efficiently enough to really up your dmg.
1) firebomb with flash fire - i like it because it can hit multiple units multiple times. it also has a sort of 'tracking' thing on it, making it great for clearing out destructibles
2) my secondary is locust swarm - searing locusts. this is a much less mana intensive build than the bears; and personally i hate the bears thing. they just never seem to hit where i want them to, and i die too much with them.
3) zombie dogs - poison ones - for the added damage
4) gartantuan - the one that slams
5) soul harvest - vengeance - great for clearin out trash; although i use spirit walk / jaunt when i'm on higher MP levels
6) rain of toads - i use that for single target boss damage, and to regen life for my LoH stuff.
my passives are a) zombie handler; gruesom feast; and c) pierce the veil.
i dont need any mana regen passive because locusts cost much less than the bears.

NA servers - add me if ya want - ysoserious#1178. - i run a clan if anyone wants an invite. no requirements to join - as long as your nice and friendly your more than welcome
ok how does locusts cost less mana when its 196 mana as opposed to bears 140?
or are you meaning since its a dot spell your not spamming it like you would with bears?

Try Spirit Walk/Jaunt into middle of mobs/elite pack > Soul Harvest/Vengeful Spirit > Unload Bears till u out of mana. I'm pretty sure all 3 bears will definately hit and Jaunt gives u dat xtra 1 sec to get out to safety b4 ur invulnerability of SW ends.

Hope this helped!
