These are my stats. The values you see are including "One With Everything" and "Seize the initiative" the thirs passive I use is "Resolve" but im open to suggestions.
I have completed act 1 easily, now in act 2, as everyone else, ive hit a wall. I believe i need your help to overcome that. The gear i have should be enough from what i read from the forums. i have 563 LoH + 3% life steal, 32k hp, 5.3k armor without the buffs from skills and 434 res. I am aware that my attack speed is a little low as in 1.23 attacks per second but i couldnt find much gear to increase it. Trying to get faster weps and more IAS stat. Even though my main reason to create this topic is to get advice on the build I am open to all comments/suggestions item-wise or build-wise.
I also have 1 other question, how do you guys manage to kill elite packs which create plague/fire pools and then just sit in it. I cannot hit them unless i have my serenity buff up, which lasts 4 seconds the most, or seven sided strike. Both skills having a cooldown makes the pack go enrage even if i do not die and gradually reduce their hp.
The same issue happens with the packs which leave a fire trail behind them when running. I obviously cannot chase them due me ending up in fire, so i can only hit them when they are hitting me, which is a couple of seconds. Then they start running again. These packs enrage too:(
If any of you have any suggestions, ill greatly appreaciate it. Thanks.
First off, more attack speed. This is crucial. Also, life steal sucks. Most likely, just getting another 100 or so LoH should work better. Need to test it though.
As for the dudes you can't hit, some suggestions:
1. Go for Deadly Reach, probably with Keen Eye for extra protection. Makes kiting easier.
2. Sweeping Wind (BS or FS): personal favorite.
3. Mantra of Conviction with Submission also works great.
With a combo of MoC/Submission and Sweeping Wind/BS I'm able to go in, do some damage, get out and have them chase me or just run around keeping track of defensive CDs and keeping SW up. Helps a ton.
Also, I'd definitely recommend swapping LTK for Blinding Flash/Blazing Wrath. The interrupt, extra damage and blind are more than worth it.
And more attack speed. Seriously. Having LoH without decent AS is not very good.
May run Crippling Wave with Concussion. The damage, movement, and attack speed reduction, along with Resolve (and Mantra of Evasion, Hard Target) I was able to clear all of Act 2, with a 5 stack I ignored 2 elite packs, due to bad combos (Fast, Horde, Molten, Jailer, on SPIDERLINGS).
My Dex was a little low than yours, and my Vit was a little higher, but not much else different.
I've been using that build during act 2 today and cleared everything so much more easier than when I was running with Mantra of healing / Mantra of evasion and Fist of thunder as spirit generator.
Always tried to keep a more damage focused build, using Mantra of Conviction with submission and Resolve as passive allows you to keep the 25% debuff on pretty much every target near you. Combine that with the additional 20% debuff from crippling wave and you've got 45% damage done reduced on the enemy already.
I totally fell in love with crippling wave today, not only does the animation look amazing but its by far our best and easiest AoE spirit generator as it has such a huge "cone" effect to it whereas FoT only works in a small angle infront of you, you do however need quite a bit of attack speed for it as it's fairly slow but with 2.0+ it's getting pretty crazy.
I always liked SSS with fulminating onslaught, imo one of the most underrated runes but that could be cause of my more "reckless" approach, combine it with the 24% damage buff from mantra, 30% damage buff from your blind while your enemys are grouped up and you'll do an absurd amount of damage to them. Plus you can use it defensively aswell as it gives you like 1.5 seconds of immunity.
Never liked deadly reach, as good as keen eye may be I always kind of refused the kiting way as a monk, I hate that ability with a passion as it completely removes the point of playing a melee and you might aswell roll a proper ranged class.
