So blizzard, thanks for making a really cool skill. But you made it so elites take around 30 hits or better, therefor a skill that uses my entire reserves is completely useless when fighting elites. We ALL use the comparable damage elemental arrow that costs a measly 10 hatred.
Am I the only one who thinks " What the #$@! are they thinking" on this issue?

Agreed. I really WANT to use it, but I can't justify it in inferno. Not even after the NT nerf. There's no room to play how you want to play and still be reasonably viable in inferno.
in the long run, elemental arrow has no comparison for damage per hatred (especially pre-nether tentacles nerf :P) but impale is still viable. i just cant see the GIANT cost of cluster arrow ever being able to justify using it vs. one of the other 2

i use evasive fire with cluster arrow (shooting star) works great together, heavy on the burst so i can keep moving more...
It is nice having the initial impact crit for 100k+ with the little rockets do another 100k+ crit...hits like a tank and with 150 hate i can pop off 3 quickly for some big burst
When I was playing my DH, I was using Cluster Arrow w/ Dazzling Star for the stun on the grenades. It proved very useful, and on bosses, was a pretty much guaranteed stun (55% chance per grenade, 4 grenades, and bosses big enough to eat them all), which was great to interrupt mechanics.
I wanted it to be far more useful, but I agree, the cost is just painfully steep.
since the patch ive been using cluster arrow, with loaded for bear. it hits like a truck and NT is still great for aoe. instead of 2 abilities for DPS DH now need 3 to effectively kill things, not a big deal. the only downfall is it takes longer because cluster arrow is such a hatred hog, we just gotta kite a bit more.

my only request would be to lower the cost 5-10 hatred or increase the reduction that grenadier gives by an extra 5 or 10
and fix the shooting stars rune bug too
