I've been reading up on builds, seen a LOT of them posted on here, but one thing I never see is ground stomp, which for me has seemed to be a required skill for when things start to surround you. However, I'm still having trouble on Hell and am getting destroyed on Inferno, so I don't claim to be doing it right.
My question is, why is ground stomp not taken? Is it terrible, or just something that good builds have no spare room for?
I love ground stomp with wrencing smash, been using it with cleave, revenge, ignore pain, armor/ress shout and a cooldown either berserker or earthquake. Farmed inferno act1 and starting on act2 now its a lovely stun you can alternate with ignore pain, helps kiting if needed too or gets those pesky mobs that run away, even works on the invulnarable minions.
Been considering running with 2 cds instead of ground stomp but i like the control too much.
As for inferno just get your resists up to 300+ act1 and 600+ act2 and you should be able to survive a bit.
even in hell ground stomp's duration on champ/bosses is extremely short. It's fine if your using it as some sort of interrupt or grouping with wrenching but if your using it for survivability it's not gonna keep you alive very long. I switched to leap for the armor buff because groundstomp wasn't really doing much at that point for what i was using it for in my build.
just using it when grouping to pull the mobs together nicely for the others to aoe them down hard,
for solo the stun is rather short and I think that the most painful things in inferno are the molten/plagued/desecration stuff in combination with getting walled/jailed (or just being a bit to slow) and for those moments ignore pain or leap are way better skills.
