If you can't get runes to make some of the best runewords (since they are ladder only) then what's the point? Some good runewords can be made, but otherwise you are getting items to trade for high-runes to do what with?
right, what I'm saying is if you can't make some of the best runewords (insight, botd, etc) in non-ladder because they are only ladder specific, then whats the point of playing nl?

botd is able to be made in nl.
besides, nl is flooded with enough ladder-only runewords and items already, its not like its a rarity.

"to the worm in horseradish, the world is horseradish."
kinda noobish question, but what exactly is no lader? never played bnet, i know what ladder is but no lader? is it the other name of single player?
No, characters made on bnet are created as either ladder or non-ladder characters. The only real difference (aside from the items, which has already been discussed) is that ladder characters "reset" every so often and become non-ladder. NL characters just stay NL characters forever.
As far as the Ladder/NL item discussion goes, it's something I certainly don't understand. The ladder was essentially introduced as a pitiful attempt to "fix" a horrible game economy. Why there are items available on Ladder that aren't on NL makes no sense to me. The whole concept of the ladder as anything besides a reset button on the economy seems silly; now, I may be misguided here, but how many people honestly play ladder in an attempt to race to 99 and get their character's name on that list, and how many just play ladder because you can access the good items that NL doesn't offer? I know I certainly fall into the latter category.
Well...not really. They could just reset everything every so often and have all items available to everyone, ladder and NL. The race itself is catering to the vast minority of players; it doesn't particularly motivate anyone to play ladder except for those few people who care about being on the ladder.
Exactly. What's the point of resetting ladder besides to reset the shitty economy? To give a few people another chance to get to the top first? I don't think you can argue that's what the vast majority of the player base wants/cares about. People only play ladder for the items. So what's the point in disallowing certain items from NL? The items are the only difference between ladder and NL for most players. The items aren't so much a motivation to play ladder as a motivation not to play NL. Which seems like the same thing, but it isn't, if you catch my drift.
What are you trying to say here, you don't care about resetting the economy? Instead you suggest giving non-ladder those items but keeping ladder and resetting the economy once in awhile on both ladder AND non-ladder, wtf would be the point? There would be no difference between the two at that point, so why seperate them?
Kind of...I mean...I still can't trade for a high rune to save my life unless some random gives me a whole bunch of free shit (which totally happened the other day ). I'll admit that what I said about resetting NL was stupid. Scratch that idea. Basically what I've been trying (poorly) to propose this entire time is this: Ladder is for the competitive gamers who care about and want to engage in the race to 99. NL is for people who want to play the game and experience all that the game has to offer, but don't particularly care about the ladder race. Denying these players access to certain items makes no sense. Why should I be denied the opportunity to make powerful items? Because I have a full-time job and don't have the necessary time to play this game to become ungodly rich in 6 months?
The free shit I alluded to before has allowed me, in the waning days of this ladder season, to make some of those items: a Grief, a Pride, and a Fortitude. So, in case you're curious, I plan to keep my characters and just play NL so I can finally experience running Ubers for my first time. And with the gear that will allow me to (hopefully) be successful.

Yes. And thank God for that.
