Do you keep the items that you can only get in ladder when your character becomes non ladder?
Yes. They stay on your character when it becomes non-ladder.
And, do people actually play NL realms? (MFing, runs, dueling, etc...)
Yes. I don't because I like the gear you can find or make on ladder (in NL you have to trade for this stuff and since it can't be made or found it's only reasonably priced after a reset).
Also, does anyone have a list of items that are only obtainable in ladder?
Awesome! Thanks man.
Another question. When you say the following will not work, does that mean my spirit runeword will be useless after reset.. along with infinity and fortitude?
They won't be useless. What i think he meant was that one cannot 'make' those runwords in NL. all the spirits, infinitys, etc. from NL originated from former Ladder characters.
Awesome! Thanks man.
Another question. When you say the following will not work, does that mean my spirit runeword will be useless after reset.. along with infinity and fortitude?
I said that the runewords will not work, meaning you cannot make them on non-ladder. The items resulting from the runewords will work, meaning if you made the runeword before the reset, the item, itself, will still work non-ladder. You just cannot make the runeword.
Probably wasn't the best phrasing, though. I'll go fix that
I don't think I've ever really seen anyone on Battle.net take the time to type out non-ladder. We're all about cryptic acronyms
Anyway... there's basically no point in playing non-ladder when you could be playing ladder. Unless your friends are playing non-ladder, or you want to play a character from the previous ladder that become non-ladder. Otherwise you should just always play ladder.
Yeah, that's my opinion, too. It just isn't really practical. Although I think you can occasionally find more glitched items on NL because Blizzard uses ladder resets to clear out ladder from glitched items and such. Not sure about that, though.
Well, the main reason I'm asking this is because, I don't want to work really hard and get my light sorc and merc all geared to up just so they can move off to NL.
So I think I will just wait till the reset comes. >.< Which is another problem, because I don't know when that will be. Hhahahah
Anyway, this question is good and resolved, so I'm going to go ahead and close it. If anyone would like it reopened for any reason, please PM a staff member and your proposition will be taken in to consideration (haha, I quoted Baal!).
So my questions are.. (please note, I did do a little reading about these as well, but I couldn't find any clear answers)
Do you keep the items that you can only get in ladder when your character becomes non ladder?
And, do people actually play NL realms? (MFing, runs, dueling, etc...)
Also, does anyone have a list of items that are only obtainable in ladder?
My final question is this.. is MFing in NL even worth your time?
Yes. They stay on your character when it becomes non-ladder.

I wrote one here.

Thanks for the help!

Ah, Blizzard. We know you all too well
