WorldRaider - And, Cant you give us 1 more hint towards what is in the patch?
I don't know about anything else besides No-CD. Maybe there is more, maybe there isn't. I have to wait too to find out.
WorldRaider - Also, did we reach the 2k extra downloads for Blizzcast?
And do you know anything about the interview?
I never said how many downloads were needed. 2k is wrong number. I do know Chris Metzen is one out of four developers to be interviewed in BlizzCast episode 2. As for the answer ... Surpassed. =)
WorldRaider - Medievaldragon, did you know about the Blizzard games that did not hit the shelves?
Yea I read various D.I.C.E. Coverage news. Ghost isn't there, and strangely Diablo II: Salvation wasn't either.
Thank you for replying, I should have been more specific, what I ment to ask was, did you know about the cancelled games that were announced at the D.I.C.E? Like, did you know that Blizz had some of those cancelled games?
Oh, not really. I started playing Blizzard games by april-may 2001. I missed game trailers and stuff before that. I knew of Warcraft Adventures due to Warcraft: Lord of the Clans novel. Christie Golden told me the novel is based on the backstory material from Warcraft Adventures. The unnamed writer in charge of writing the novel for unspecified reasons no longer wrote the novel. Christie was on vacations when the publisher contacted her to write the book. She had a deadline of ... 2 weeks to write Warcraft: Lord of the Clans.
For a 2 week novel it was so damn good a read. However, some things got axed from the novel such as the Warcraft Adventures plot behind Gazlowe, Zul'jin, and Deathwing due to time constraints.
Back to topic, no I didn't know those games even were canceled games except the Warcraft Adventures. However, I did know about Diablo II: Salvation. It seems to have been in development by the time Blizzard North executives resigned.
Hmm, Interesting. Well Thank you for taking your time to reply, and I hope to see more posts from you, as they are always fun and informing to read. Ciao for now.
ok i know you are going to say something like i dont know yet or i didnt get that info with the question i ask. but anyway. did your inside sorce tell you that they have a new patch for diablo 2 or they were working on a new patch for diablo 2. because when i saw the blizz in paris on there site i saw a diablo pic. when i clicked it it showed some games. one of which was diablo 2. so if they are working on a patch then they could start talking about the patch in the paris thing.
Hi'y all, thouht i love the idea of a diablo 3 coming out, even a dreaded mmorg like wow, i would actualy prefer a new diablo 2 expansion. The game is far from dead, Offcourse the 3 brothers are, but thats a good excuse to start a link betwen d2 and d3.
i know its a lame thought, but what if the patch thats supposed to come, is one of the 2 options next:
1-new events, new items, new rune words, new build balances
2- a prep for a diablo 2 second expansion, whith all that means.
the only way i may get happy whith a new patch, is if its 1 of these 2 options.
anny other crappy no sense stuff, and your a load of #$%, whats his name that launched this post.
ps: i dont know if your aware of the nostradamus theory, predict a plausible event, and when it happens, makes you a diviner. For example here's a couple of nostradamus style previsions
1-Blizzard Launches Starcraft mmorg
2-diablo, starcraft, warcraft movie
3-first person shooter starcraft
4-New blizzard title, to get the female players
etc, etc etc
these stuff might just happen in 10 20 or 30 years, but have a good chance of happening
So is the case of a diablo 2 patch, if i predict one and give it a timeline of 6 months to 2 years, there's about 90% probalitities i'm right.
However, I did know about Diablo II: Salvation. It seems to have been in development by the time Blizzard North executives resigned.
Was this the game that Blizzard North was working on when the company was moved to Blizzard headquarters? - or was it the myth that Diablo III was already in production and they axed it and moved Blizzard north to Blizzard headquarters to start over?

Wait, what was this game? Was it a planned expansion pack for D2, or some form of an intended sequel? I've never heard of the title before.
PlugY for Diablo II allows you to reset skills and stats, transfer items between characters in singleplayer, obtain all ladder runewords and do all Uberquests while offline. It is the only way to do all of the above. Please use it.
Supporting big shoulderpads and flashy armor since 2004.
No it wouldn't because making an expansion for a 7 year old game would actually be harder than making a new game with the same basic skeleton. They would have to remap everything to fit with the newer graphics and other systems they would add. Making an expansion for a 7 year old game is like turning it into an entirely new game and THAT is redundant. Don't say "What if they didn't update the graphics" because that would also be retarded as no one wants to play a new game with old graphics. It wouldn't make nearly as much money as an entirely new game would. The net profit wouldn't match the cost. Thanks for playing, next contestant?
Exactly. But it could have actually been Diablo 3 'undercover', or a short extra act to DL for free.
That's a patch, which is what this thread is talking about, not an expansion. I will say it again for those of you who for some reason still continue to be idiots:
What I said about the graphics wasn't that we wouldn't mind playing them, because I know we still play the game. What I was saying was, people don't want to play a new game with old graphics. Wouldn't you be a little pissed if a game that you were looking forward to came out and looked like pacman?

Been too long, it's going to be Diablo III.
Was this the game that Blizzard North was working on when the company was moved to Blizzard headquarters? - or was it the myth that Diablo III was already in production and they axed it and moved Blizzard north to Blizzard headquarters to start over?
And would make billions.
Diablo III would make more.

AN EXPANSION WOULD BE REDUNDANT!!
