So i made some very ez calculation, it is very very very hard to make pure gold after patch 1.03. What i mean by pure gold is fresh new gold not coming from the AH.
So lets analyse my last run : Act 3 - 10 elite kill, on those elite kill i got 10 blues and 12 rare + 10 blues from the regular drop. Total item 32 item selling for an average of 1000g each at the vendor. I also got some regular cash drop for about 10k.
So total worth of money for my run = 32k + 10k = 42k
Repair bill : 39k... and really i did not die that much,,,
DH - 700 resist all, 35k dps without SS, 55k Health And a nice shield... so i dont die fast at all
So i made 3k pure money!
But wait, i got some bracers that i could sell for 500 000 g!!!
But then, who is going to buy those bracers at that price, since I could not even make 3k gold in that run? Who is puting new pure fresh gold in the market? Well not me, not you... Will the market price drop because of that? Not really...
Bots will bring the fresh gold, like usual since they dont die when they run ez mode hell all day.
Sad but true... the pure gold that we will generate will then mean nothing since we will never go back in hell just to farm gold... well at least not me.
I am not certain if the death toll will really help the market or make is worst...?
Anecdotal evidence is anecdotal. But obviously your singular experience must also mirror the experience of every other gamer. Let's assume that is the case and inbound money is drastically reduced meaning people no longer have the gold to pay 500k for braces. That will reduce demand, while increasing supply. We are assuming items still drop right? Econ 101... what happens when demand is low and supply is high?
This is again assuming that your situation mirrors all other players situations which we know is not the case.
Your dieing too much on each run, 4k/death is what im at.
I went back to farming A1 inferno based on repair costs and the dmg i was missing thanks to the nerfs. I get faster clears and only die if I play with my elbows while trying to eat icecream. Butcher runs, if you clear some of the big areas first still are pretty profitable.
yhea i was thinking of going back act 1 from time to time for some repair bill money. But 10 death on 10 elite is my average, perhaps its too much but heh, for act 3 its not that bad i guess... So looks like if you die more then once per elite you cannot make money...

Yea, i am waiting till i get my dmg back above 50k before going back to Act 3 for efficient farming. I can pull it off now, but the effort/reward is not there atm.
If you want to make gold while you farm items, the penalty is a lower high-end item drop rate.
If you want the best chance at the highest quality items, the penalty is paying more gold in repairs.
Seems logical to me. There was absolutely no one who hesitated to throw their toons at inferno packs countless times via graveyard zerging. Guess what most of you are doing now? Trying to decide if the risk is worth it. It seems the fix is doing exactly what it was intended to do: Force you to make the above choice, risking what you want to, where you want to.

Even with a flawless run, repair is about 5k.
Even with repair costs, gold is still easy to get in D3.
EXACTLY
You are undergeared for Act 3, farm Act 1/2.

I have all ilvl61/62/63 gear, everything.
I have yet to see a single repair bill as high as 39k, even after a death.
I paid about 50k in repairs (over 4 repair trips) after a FULL Act 1 clear, all elites + Butcher. (2 deaths total)
I paid around 50k again after 8 (I think 3 trips) Elite packs in Act 2. (4 deaths total)
I came out on top of both runs with gold after repairs as well, to the tune of 400k.
Thx for the suggestion!
