I saw a topic somewhere where people discussed about a 3d model of diablo that blizzard showed in their panel, and indeed it looked like it was a female body as they said. So i mixed this with the information on the wiki that Leah will play a important role on Diablo 3 and the fact that Diablo does not emerge from someone's body, but instead transform its body sooooo
Why no one ever thought that Diablo is going to possess Leah???

Hi btw, new diablo fans account, been here but didn't stay long, but now this is the best diablo fansite so i might stay a while.
It's an interesting theory. And one i haven't heared before, that's for sure.
I haven't actually seen the 3D model you're talking about but the face doesn't look all that feminine. Also considering the change of the Dark Wanderer at the end of Act III in Diablo II, i don't think the body matters much.
I was under the impression that Leah was to replace the good old Deckard Cain now that he's getting too old for adventures, but as long as the story goes, we don't know nothing, so it's not safe feel certain about anything.

Here is the model, i don't think i have to explain why it looks like woman right?
About the body not mattering much, there a lot of theories for that too:
Maybe she summoned him into her body, maybe he liked her body (:P feminine diablo would be cool, lots of couple breaking up with jokes about this), maybe she is very powerful so he models like her for more power, etc.
Looks more like Kerrigan with big D's head thrown on for kicks and giggles. Although with the new choose your gender thing on the table, I wouldn't be surprised if they threw in some female bosses who didn't look like Andariel. I can see this as some sort of possession without true transformation, recalling that all 3 primes had to bring true Diablo out of the wanderer, even though he started looking all Darth maul.

Thats the girl from the trailers, check it out at the official Diablo site
On-Topic, the model seems fairly early development stuff and the theories about Diablo possessing Leah and all is great, but I somehow don't think it clicks
Yeah when I saw that model the first time I thought the same thing (especially since I had thought it since the announcement trailer, it kinda seems like the demons are in her head), but the model is just a bones structure, it's so skinny because they hadn't added muscle yet!
Also, now that Diablo doesn't have a soulstone and the worldstone is destroyed, he doesn't need to possess anybody to show up on Sanctuary. It's gonna be him in his own body.
Err i don't think his arms bones are thick like that, same for thigs.
Anyway even if its an early model it still something that they made, and i think they knew the lore already when they made this model.
About Diablo using his own body, OMG that is going to be so cool, but i have read somewhere that as he is the lord of terror he doesn't have a body, he manifests as the person looking at him greatest fear. I would be fighting death or a spider o.O
