The reason why i hated the sorceress is because in D2 hell all the creatures are resistant to them so you cant build just a fire or just lightning. What bugged me the most is that it is the one class. So in D3 i hope they take out resistance...
what are your thoughts? (go Diablo3!:diablo:)

It's not resistance that stopped you from killing them, it's the special case of immunity. I hate immunity as well, it's a piece of pie that doesn't deserve to find its way into D3.
Well to be fair, investing 100 points into one skill tree? C'mon! No other class gets that! The sorceress was unique in her own way and at the end of the day investing points into other trees is not that big of a deal. I mean, there is only so much you can do with 100 points (level 88 with 12 points from quests) in Ice or Lightning or Fire. You would branch out anyway to get Teleport or Energy Shield, or the Ice armours.
It forced the sorceress' to diversify and made the highest damage spectrum of the Sorceress, fire, a lot less viable. You can still use it to great affect, but you need to go into other skill trees to be able to do hell. It wasn't really all that bad of a thing.
Everyone would go fire! Most damage! (Lightning nearly always had a minimum damage of 1... meaning that sometimes you would sometimes hit ridiculously low).
The WW barbarian would also have to get Berserk for the Act IV hellknights and their iron maiden curse, and incase any Physical immune monsters came along, otherwise we'd have either full pure Zerkers or an extra 20 points to spend.

Well, they require patience to play... meteor-orb (Meteor and Ice-orb, though you probably figured that out) sorceress... Not particularly fun but can do tons of damage XD

Immunities would not have been an issue at all if Synergy wasn't introduced into the game with it. Immunities require that you take more than one damage type, while synergies require that you put all of your points in one tree to get the max effect. It was really a poor decision on Blizzards part. They should have just made all skills viable at end game without the need to dump even more points into skills we don't want.
Yeah. Totally fine when you're running a Concentrate Barbarian on SP trying to kill off physical immunes, or playing any type or Sorc, or any type of magiv damage character like the Bonemancer. Yeah, completely and utterly fine. Nice one, brah.
Yes, immunities were fine, in theory. Once you realize what a kick in the pants they are they instantly become "were not fine".
Everything Mephisto's Lament has said + what the hell is wrong with you? Obviously you've never played single player...
At the very moment I'm stuck in hell den of evil. Yes that's right, my cold sorc can't do squat against those last few zombies. I was thinking maybe my merc will be strong enough to take them, but no. No where near... So do I just scrap that character and start over? I guess I have no other choice huh...

False !
If you put point into more than 1 tree you'll be not strong enough to own hell. Maxed an only spell and his synergies is the only way to be able to do hell, and even than you have difficulty, synergy = % so you need to put all in that. And if you try to max another spell you'll do rediculous damage and will never be able to kill A monster and plus you'll lose points for your primary spell so you won't be effective So you never survive in hell, maybe in nightmare too.
Immunity (in d2) is bad. If you see the wizard spell, you can see each tree have more than one kind of damage, so immunity will be good, and yes d3 will have immunity (but it's will be different) and you will always have a way to kill every foes.
