Okay, I have been following up on the BlizzTracker for a while, and I have seen some information from Bashiok that has really made my day. I realize that there was some info revealed about an Act II boss, but the details were minimal.
I decided to make this thread in hopes of bringing people's imaginations to life and discussing the different bosses that they would like to see.
Ill start it off to help others understand what I mean.
Boss type: Undead
Name: Arthur the Forsaken (like a dead King Arthur)
Location: Last boss in dungeon (you can make it like a rare or something if u want)
basically just stuff like that.
ALSO, maybe this can be the place where you post ideas about bosses from the past? wut bosses would u like to see in Diablo III? Of course the animations will be updated, but think about it...
*If there is already a thread like this, i apologize. I didnt find any like it.
This seems familiar, but what the heck it's always fun to hear people's ideas!
After discussing it a bit on another thread I'd really like to see one of the Angel faction leaders as a boss. I just ordered the Sin War books so I don't know anything about them, but from what I've gathered heaven is divided into certain factions. With some key player angels leading the groups, Tyrael being one, and another being led by a "bad guy" type angel. Maybe not bad or evil like Diablo, but bad in the sense that he doesn't like humanity...therefore an enemy of our hero.
I'd love to fight one of these guys. I imagine meeting them at the top of the tallest mountain in Sanctuary. At the top of the mountain there would be a small plateau with gates to a portal or something symbolizing the gates into heaven. There you fight the jerkfaced-angel, who hates humans, before he executes his devastating lethality on the human race... Just an idea.

I would like a mulitiple staged boss, not like minions and boss, but have a boss that can change forms/resistances/skills/death animations. Each form can have different drops, and give different levels of exp.
i would like a boss that is difficult not cuz he has a lot of health and does a lot of damage, but cuz its like a zelda boss. you know, for example, he charges and you have to dodge, making him hit a wall and you have to attack his backside.

I heard that somewhere, they want their boss to be more like in zelda, strategy/concept and new manner to kill him.
And I think they will do that with many kind of monsters.
(I want see more mage/caster in d3 than in d2 (summoner from arcan). A mage can bring more inspiration for.. special events and tricks we need to do to kill him)

idk about that specifically, but it is a good idea. imo, id like to throw togher a set of moves to make a combo. a certain combo would be better against dif bosses while other agaisnt others.
for example, in torchlight, i got a feel of this a little, but it wasnt pulled off completely. I would dash in, throw a aoe stun, slash a group, snipe out a caster/summoner with the smashing ground beam thing, then devestate. In all reality, sticking to devestate owned anything, so i just did the combo stuff to make it more fun :). if blz could impliment that better, itd be cool. (for a while, i had all 5 finger keys as skills, and the 2 thumb mouse butons, it was epic).
I think having a, he rawrs, i move left, he stops, i go foward click-click, retreat, repeat would get boring and slow the pace ALOT. keeping it so that you have to spam skills to avoid/do damage and stay in the game would be a lot better. boss diversity would make this possible.
for my bosss
type: water assasin
you go into a room, water fills to your ancles then all the sudden a minion (but more badass) rises with the water and then drops down only to reflow back up in ur face and do a 100 fists on u lol. fight that. here, stuns/dash would be really effect, same with the long range ground slam to pick off. quick moving, agile, fun.
I want diablo as a boss.
I want to be able to talk to him.
And tell him he should be ashamed to come back again after having been pawned twice.
And then I pull out my knife and ask him, "Why so serious?.....Let's put a smile on that face."

Yeah they were working on this. I'm pretty sure someone from Blizz even referred to Zelda when discussing this matter.

ooooh i got one! wut about something like a crazy powerful witch doctor that makes clones of the players attacking him and uses them against u. The clones can use the same attacks and do the same damage. that would be crazy!
This boss is a not big strong guy. It's a real legion of small and vicious imps that come in limitless numbers (comes a wave of 25 imps and after you defeat 10, after 3 seconds, another 10 comes). Whoever, whenever you kill one imp the HP bar decrease. The less HP this boss have more furious the imps will be, getting a boost like fanatism aura. When you take out all the health they come so frenzied that they start to kill one another until a creepy voice scream "ENOUGH!" and they instantly burn to ashs. The drop will come in a chest in the same room that will open after you defeat this boss.
Also the imps should have a good AI. Instead of just run in your direction they will try to use some tactics, like surround yoursellf, spread around when you use a AoE spell, etc...
I hope the mini-bosses don't look the same as their minions like in d2. For example people like bishbosh, rakanishu, that bad-ass skeleton in the inner cloister and all. I hope they emphasize their appearance like Blood-Raven, the High council and Izual. It would make for a unique gameplay right?

Yeah. I don't think they need to change it too drastically, but some variation between them (other than color like in D2) would be cool.

that's the best idea for a boss ever!!! i hope blizz come up with something like this.. would be so awesome!!! :D:D
Boss - Duriel, Baal, Diablo
Mini-Boss - Blood Raven, Smith, Radament
Super-Unique - Bishibosh, Rakanishu, Treehead Woodfist
Unique - Like Champions, but more powerful with a name in gold.
Champion - The randomized blue enemies. Regular enemies with affixes.
Ya your right, but I mean from Unique and up, I think there is some room for differentiation apart from name and body color. Thats all I'm sayin' YO

For another boss idea, I want something like the scorpion king from Mummy Returns.
Something like that: http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_R1-X7c5fkV8/R354uCh48mI/AAAAAAAAAEw/02ibhlxDJgw/s400/ScorpionKing0005.jpg
Use of poison and bash attacks. Kind of Duriel's distant cousin or something like that.

Battle not with monsters lest you become one.

lol right, re-use the same monster many time and only change color is very lazy.
