When do you think diablo3.com will stop redirecting to diablofans.com? I guess whenever Blizzard has something to put on it, huh?
It will stop redirecting when they want it to stop. There isn't enough info on the topic yet, so wait till Blizzcon and maybe then they will have some stuff on it.
Just because Blizzard said within x amount of time doesn't mean anything. They might have just given them a month so that people who frequent this site could change their bookmarks and other site owners could change their links.
With that being said I did some poking around two blocks of IP addresses owned by Blizzard hoping to run into the site that they will eventually change the DNS to point to. Sadly I only found two things remotely interesting. An FTP site with old games and the "friends and family" WoTLK account management page. Looks like if they are going to announce D3 soon their web admins are smart enough to know not to put the server in the DMZ until they are 100% ready.
I do find it interesting that they seem to have no interest in Diablo2.com. Sure its an old game, however they stated when they took diablo3.com that they routinely aquire domain names for Blizzard IP.
I noticed today that Diablo3.com now takes me to google search. Is this some kind of flaw that we made or is it Blizzard finally taking over Diablo3.com?
I am still being redirected to diablofans. But many have siad that it dosen't. So I want to know is it just me?

Ok I've seen this discussion in about 4 different threads. I still get redirected to diablofans.com, but I guess many get error messages and others get sent to Google. I would like to now how this is possible. I've heard it has to do with cookies and having to disable them. But I deleted all my cookies and it still redirects me to diablofans.com. Is there someone out there (smarter then me) that can enlighten me on this?

I am not confirming it has been done. However, it might be possible. That's typical behavior of what happens when a redirection occurs. Blizzplanet has moved to new servers a few times since 2003. Usually people living within certain geographical location (in correnspondence with where the server is located) some people will see a DNS change almost immediately or within 24 hours. Whereas people who lives further geographically from where the domain name server is located will take up to 2-3 days before their DNS gets updated.
Some people can see diablo3.com still pointing to Diablofans.com -- these people might live further -- so DNS won't change for them for the next 24-62 hours depending where in the world they live at.
Those who already see diablo3.com no longer pointing to Diablofans.com live closer and DNS has been updated quickier.
Again, I am not confirming it has been done already. I haven't talked to Mockery in 2-3 weeks so I have no further updates. I am just explaining the fact some people sees a change while others don't see any changes is common and typical of a domain name redirection.
It could be another type of issue unrelated.
If the ownership of the domain name is officially given to Blizzard, Mockery would post on the Diablofans News section announcing that.
What would Blizzard do with the domain name?
That's anyone's guess. It could be pointing:
- to a blank page
- to blizzard.com
- to WWI website
- to BlizzCon website
- choose your favorite speculation
Note: I live on the East Coast. I still see Diablo3.com redirecting to Diablofans.com -- however if our little world speculation proved truth, east coast might see a change any time within the next few hours up to 72 hours (3 days).
EDIT: DAMN YOU BEAT ME TO IT.
