Do you think I would have a Mac now if I was "happy" with Windows?
No.
I was tired of just...dealing with my OS. And now, I don't. Because it's unobtrusive, and it allows me to do whatever I want quickly and without fuss.
Oh great, another "Because it's more widely used, it's a better product" spiel. If that same logic applies...and I'm sure this is a very sensitive subject to those on this forum: Does that make WoW better than Diablo?

It's time to welcome the other 80% of the color wheel to a Diablo game.
And anyway, I'm not going to argue about personal computing preference. Because it's just that: preference.
I've said my peace, and that's all I need to say about the matter.
Besides, so far, we've all been cool with each other, and we've all been holding each others hopes and keeping each other sane. Let's not get "heated" over what our OS is.
Fair?

its obvious you know nothing, because you are reverting to such obvious arguments. WoW is a superior game to diablo, but that does not change my opinion on it. the fact that WoW is better in terms of graphics, gameplay, and most all else is regardless to what we think here. i would still rather play a new diablo game than play WoW.

Again, I'm not going to fight with you. I've never had any beef with you, but saying things like "You know nothing" doesn't help your case.
Also, saying WoW is superior to Diablo is a matter of - again - personal opinion. People over at WoWFanboy may see one way, and I'm sure plenty of people (this forum included) think another.
I don't claim to know everything, but I most certainly do not "know nothing".
Anyway. Are we done? Arguing over personal preferences is silly anyway.

ya, especially arguing about macs against pcs. everyone knows pc's are better.
i have nothing against macs. its just the people who use them USUALLY are whorey dumb-fucked close minded imbasils they acuse us of being. "mac is so good, its so much better than windows."
You mean like many of the Pc Users are doing in this thread, saying how awful Macs are and how great PCs are?
Before going on, I would like to say I'm a PC User and I like my PC, but that doesn't mean Macs are bad products.
One of the biggest hits on Macs are the fact that most people don't know how to carry out most functions on Macs because the shortcuts and such are different. But really, you can do most anything with a Mac that you can with a PC. Yes, including right clicking... It just takes getting used to the system. Most people don't do that and instead just bash it. After you get past that, Macs are often more user-friendly.
The newer macs are actually pretty good, expensive, but good. They initially cost more, but they also tend to last longer and don't have security problems. They can run most things on Macs thanks to Boot Camp from Apple, which allows your to dual-boot the system with Mac OS X or Windows XP.
Really, it just depends on what you want to do with your computer. Macs are better for some, PCs are better for others, we have no need to bash others for their personal choice, nor do we have to declare one is far better than the other. I'll leave it at that.

we dont go around saying it. we only do it when someone starts a conversation about it. its like a war, we start off with the hardest hits because thats where it matters. the conversation will only drag on until its clear the mac supporters act insulted and stop talking about it. we just want to get it over with.
we arent saying pc's are far better than macs, we know they are. after all, when macs became popular it was because they adopted alot of windows concepts.
I think what makes PCs so popular to the masses is simply that they're more accessible. You can buy one just about anywhere, they're cheaper, and it seems they're easier to get support for.
As I've said before, I personally like Macs for certain things. But I simply cannot afford one and so I don't own one. I do happen to think, however, that Mac users tend to be very pretentious and give Macs a more worse name than they deserve.
Hmm, I have thoughts of my own on many Apple products. But for the sake of fairness, since we're just talking about Macs here, I'll keep that to myself for now unless there's a thread about all Apple products.

God forbid a PC user being pretentious.
Maybe Mac users actually are insulted. Just because you use a certain operating system, doesn't make it better. It means it's the one you prefer. Or perhaps it's just the only one you've dared to try. If anything, you've just decided to not go the route less traveled. Having been on both sides of the fence, I have no delusions about either OS.

my first home computer was a mac, so thats out of the question. if you think its because of peer pressure, or because of financial reasons, my father has always been a mac guy. however, ive always wanted pc more, and im the one that uses computers more here so i influenced decisions heavily.
its not being pretentious, its stating fact. and no, mac users arent insulted. its just their excuse of trying to get out of the argument. you also keep saying its a matter of preference, but its obvious that many more prefer a pc. if one item is more prefered than another, and it is by a large percentage, then its more than a matter of preference. its fact.

just one among pc plus's that mac doesnt have:
fast and easy interchangeable parts.
Wrong.
Wrong, wrong wrongity wrong.
Yes. As a member of MUG I can state that quite a good percentage of Mac users are fed up with the "holier-than-thou" attitude PC users come off with. You may have had a mac before, and again, it's your choice to switch. But to make the argument simply that most folks only choose PCs because they are better, when instead they are too ingrained in one computing system to even give a thought to another is asinine.
Most people don't know that Macs are easy-to-use and completely compatible with many Windows programs. Why should they care? I mean, they're fine bothering with all of their daily virus scans and McAffee updates and whatnot, so...why bother moving to an experience that actually fosters a healthy and happy computing experience?
I mean, dear Lord who actually wants to ENJOY using their computers?
Most people don't switch because they don't like change. I'm going to omit most of the users on this forum because most of you are somewhat computer savvy, so I'm sure other than the ctrl/cmnd difference, you'd make out fine.
My grandparents are people that fall into the "afraid of change" category though. So is my mother. They have just been put in front of the Windows OS their whole computing experience, so why change? It's sad but true. Most people just blindly march forward, continuing to order from Dell, or HP, or what have you until the end of time. Why? Because they haven't been shown that there's a better way to compute.
Oh, and as far as your argument goes for "fast and easy interchangeable parts"? That couldn't be a bigger load of bullshit.
I have a Mac Pro, and you know what I did the other day? I went on to NewEgg, bought some new processors, popped the old ones out, pressed the new ones in, and voila. They weren't some overpriced lot of "Mac Only Processors FTW!" They were simply a pair of 3.0 GHz Quad-Core Woodcrests. Just like would go in any high-end PC. RAM, video cards, processors, whatever. Everything is just as swappable as PCs.

first of all, anyone that opens an argument with " Wrong, wrong wrongity wrong." is already losing his point.
second, if people feel like the grass is really greener on the other side, they will make the switch. vhs and dvd.
thats on newegg, how many times out of ten can you go to your local best buy or circuit city and find what you need for a mac? how long did it take you to get the parts? ill admit, mac is finally making progress by letting others sell their parts, but it still hasnt happened that you can walk into a computer store and get the parts you need. if i want or need a part by tommorrow and i have the cash, done. i have it. upgrading a mac will take a week at the least.
I don't see how you can't understand the statement: "RAM, video cards, processors, whatever. Everything is just as swappable as PCs."
It means it you want RAM, you go to Best Buy, and get the RAM. It's not some special Mac-Only RAM, it's just RAM. Kingston, Crucial, Viking. Whatever. I wasn't saying "Apple is selling chain stores their parts" I was saying "Apple is using regular industry standard parts." So if nVidia comes out with a new graphics card, you go out and buy it just like everyone else. If Intel comes out with a new processor, you go buy it just like everyone else.
That argument is done.

i doubt if someone comes out with a new processor you can put it right into it "pushes in" *everything blows up* thats what'll happen. i doint know much about macs, but i do know they only use intel processors. I don't know if you can change the mobo in a mac, and i doubt it. I dont know if you can change the cd drive, usb/firewire ports. put 16x pci-e 8800 gtx cards into it, but i doubt it.i also doubt it has enough power to keep it from dying.
Owned. (sorry, i had to, unless you guys were being sarcastic, then I agree. :))
Im a PC user, and my computer hardly ever crashes. Unlike some people i know (also PC users). Persionally I like PC, but I think Mac is generally equal, if not better. There are proven to be less viruses/security flaws, and everything, because less people use them. Most virus programmers/hackers target the greater majority of people and go for PC users...
