i think 100 just would look kick ass with its 3 digits 100 would look goldly ... ive seen a few 99's an di was just like wow thats cool but 100 now hahah how kick ass would that look ;-)
I agree with this one. 99 is all well and good but 100 has this certain flare about it that makes it just that much better
Edit: With Diablo having that up to level 99 (100) idea, they have that on most online RPG games. I thought it was always pretty dumb that WoW left off at such a low level. In Diablo the 40 - 60 leveling is when is starts to get interesting and VERY time consuming. (if you dont do rushes)

Well WoW goes to 70 because it is going to increase 10 levels with every expansion. It probably go untill 100 where WoW 2 will be released, based off of WC4. (And I can't wait for WC4!!!)
I think for D3 they should make sub classes or hero classes like this
Say you pick Warrior class, later in the game you would have choices like
Warrior -->Paladin or Blademaster sub class or hero class
Necromancer --> Death Mage or Summoner
Yeah that would be awensome
This is a good idea, but its already kinda incorporated into the character build as you character levels up. For example when you choose the Necromancer and you want it to be a Summoner you build the stats in the summoning skills. So when everybody sees you running around with 30 Skeletons they automatically think summoner. Or are you talking about when you pick your character in the beginning before actual game play you choose the sub class? hmmmm... sounds intersting enough

Well yea, but what if when you choose a subclass at say level 30 or 35 or something, you got a physical change. Like if you choose a summoner then your skin starts to fall off, or if you choose a hammerdin you start to glow. And if you choose a ice sorceress then things get colder around you while a fire sorceress would perhaps be so hot that the area around her might combust?

I think that would take away from the human aspect that the hero characters are supposed to have and lean towards the faerie look of WoW.

Oh, and running around firing ice and fire from your finger tips and bringing the dead from the grave to serve you is a normal human thing? I never said make it look like WoW, I want it to look relistic, but I think that if your summoning the dead from there graves your slowly going to loose what makes you human, all things considered.
Well, I should rephrase that. I think that would be a cool thing to see when a certain set is completed, or maybe when mastery in a certain area is achieved, or when your character reaches the highest possible level. Not right from the start, though.
And the characters themselves are supposed to look human. Their skills are supposed to look completely extraordinary. There's a clear story element being worked here- it's a type of... I want to say analogy? I don't know, I take a lot of Lit classes, so I'm always looking for those kind of comparisons. I think it shows how the characters themselves are still just as human as anyone else, but when put under rigorous trials, like the journey that your hero takes, they become capable of the seemingly impossible. That's just what I see.
If you look at the Sin War novels, power seems alot more physiological rather than an open display of lights and elements
Then on the other hand I remember Malic getting a hand of Mephisto
The Trang Oul set transforms you into a vampire
Energy sheild, frozen armor... very outwardly but passive displays of power
Im sitting on the fence, just as long as it doesnt become "faerie look of WoW"
Edit - Highest level, I think should be 100 exactly
99 levels was pretty neat; though, leveling over 90 should still be quite hard to achieve. I don't like how everyone is lv70 in WoW, makes me feel not so special....
Something that would probably help with leveling over 99 would be something along the lines of certain areas only 99+ level characters can go, where the experience is higher, but the enemies tougher.

Well in WoW, having 70 isn't the same as having 99 in Diablo 2, more like 70 in WoW is like 80 in Diablo 2. Having full t6 gear in WoW is the same as having level 99 in Diablo 2.
And having Full S3 gear in WoW is like hacking D2 and having a level 100.
I see how your drawing the similarities between the games but WoW is more of a game for 12 year olds. Diablo has this feeling about it that some little punk prick would never understand. When they see WoW they're like "Hey look I can be an Gnome!! WEE!! (I leave room and throw self out window)* Diablo has this sinister feeling that you get from watching a riveting movie. I've been on D2 sometimes and I've constantly had to fend of little brats who think they know the game and whats what. We here understand the value of getting to such a high level while some 10 year old plays for the sake of passing time.

Level 100 would be nice, I play Diablo 2 on Battlenet, I have a Level 99 Necromancer Guardian. To become a Guardian you have to beat Hell difficulty. If you want you can play me. I will find you and tell you I am Crysis Creed from the Diablofan forums.

It's not hard to get to 70.
I don't mind having to level longer, but do not make players repeat the same pattern over and over, aka Baal runs...
