Ummmm.... why the heck are we correcting ppl about when gunpowder was founded i mean WHAT THE HECK... WHO CARES!! oh and by the way i like to fart our fruity pebbles
cause if gunpowder was invented before the time d2 took place than it is possible, as much as we may not like it, to see guns or atleast bombs in d3
thus the reason i corrected him

If you ever meet a hafling and a hungry dragon you dont have to outrun the dragon, you only have to outrun the hafling.
Diablo 2 took place in another universe. You cant use real dates to try prove its possible to implement guns/bombs in Diablo 3. They wouldnt fit the Diablo universe in general.
Angus the peasant saw the necromancer raising the rotting remains and ran away. Since then he told the tale of how he narrowly escaped the necromancer he called "juicy bones".
PlugY for Diablo II allows you to reset skills and stats, transfer items between characters in singleplayer, obtain all ladder runewords and do all Uberquests while offline. It is the only way to do all of the above. Please use it.
Supporting big shoulderpads and flashy armor since 2004.
Yeah...I cant really picture being a character with 2 .45 colts and a cowboy hat What would the skills for the character be? lol I mean, maybe the skills can be like Gun mastery ---> increase damage when using skills, but that sounds a little too much like the marines in Starcraft.

Those before me shall quiver in my wake as I unleash the fury within!
you made me lol that hard i prolly waked the neighbors
and i sure agree with you that guns dont really fit in the Diablo universe. Anyway why revive this old, crappy thread and not make a new topic about this matter?
because its fun to see how many people view and write on this tread. over 50 thousand views is something quite substantial, and its funny to see how many people are dissapointed when they find out that there isnt any proof here. But about the guns.. if they put guns in they wouldent be modern guns, they would be like blunderbusts and muskets, not ak47's (although that would be funny to see)

During the London launch event for the World of Warcraft expansion; The Burning Crusade, a high ranking Blizzard exec hinted at sequels for two of the developer's most prized franchises.
Speaking to crowds in London, Itzik Ben Bassat said, ...as a Starcraft player I can tell you that I hope it wouldn't go a decade - we launched Starcraft in '98 - I hope it wouldn't go a decade before we stand here and celebrate the next Starcraft together. He didn't stop there, as he also added, We haven't forgotten that we have these two franchises, and what I can tell you is that I look forward to stand here in a few years, or whenever it's going to be, and celebrate with you the launch of the next Starcraft or the next Diablo.
So, the simple interpretation of these comments suggests that Blizzard is well under way in developing Diablo and Starcraft games. Things can't be so simple however, as Blizzard is well known for being secretive and protective of its projects. If Bassat did not just get carried away by the moment and his comments have some basis we are certain that Blizzard will be upset with its executive; if, on the other hand, these comments are mere speculation then Blizzard should again be disturbed as hopes have been raised and fans will be disappointed.
As it is unlikely that Blizzard will wish to waste two franchises as successful as Diablo and Starcraft, we expect that there must be some truth to Mr. Bassat's comments, we are just not quite sure why those comments were made as Blizzard is not in the habit of releasing information about its, under development, projects.
