imo they added voice to WoW very late in the game and didn't do a very good job to boot.
voice chat would most likely be easy to implement in-game since there's probably going to be max 8 players per game.
even if it was something like steam uses in counterstrike source and teamfortress 2.
n fact blizzard should definately take a page out of Valve's book s far as the set up of battle.net goes, steam is a very effective interface considering it's free!
edit: however thy should implement a mute button that silences individual players for you, cause someone will undoubtedly use voice chat to play silly stuff and spam the channel
As long as there's an option allowing you to enable and disable voice chat, hat would be awesome. Dont want some little kid screaming in my ear while i play..

I really don't think this is the type of game that really needs voice chat. You don't need to coordinate strategies, and talk things out. I cannot think of one time during my play of D2 where I wanted to actually speak to someone, unless it was one of my close friends in the game...in which case I could just stay on a vent server with.
Also, having to constantly use a headset when playing D2 in groups b/c everyone else is using one and dont feel like typing would get rather annoying.
CounterStrike has taught me to hate voice chat, but if there was an easy way to set up who specifically you wanted to chat with and allowed a quick and easy way to ignore people it'd be a nice feature.
how bout they add a word-text thingy that would be nice noone can have stupid internet slang then also voice chat would suck when listening to the story :(. but if it was in then all you guys could complain about the game and realy express yourself
They already confirmed that voice chat was something they were striving to accomplish in battle.net 2.0. Which means Starcraft 2 and Diablo III should both have voice chat.
Why? Everyone just clicks around and the boss dies. It's not like an MMO where you actually need a tactic..... Which is good because if they made the bossfights challenging, there would be at least another 15 petitions.
I absolutely hate hearing shithead 12 year olds and all the retards on voice chat with most games. As long as I can turn it off I'll be cool with that.
Chances are, that if they have a voice chat system in place, it's not going to default to it like in Forza2 where you can automatically hear everyone talking. There will probably be some kind of local in game channel or you might need to manually add people to your list or something. Otherwise hearing dumbass voices during the gameplay will be immersion breaking.
I don't think a voice chat is necessary either. Even if they did end up putting it in the game, I wouldn't use it almost ever. Like the guy above me said, its not an MMO where a lot of strategy is required and good communication is key, or at least it doesn't appear that it will be that way.
And even if it does turn out that way, there is always vent which, chances are, will be of higher quality.

I don't see a problem with integrating it into Diablo 3 - it'd spice things up a bit.

I agree. With TeamSpeak and Ventrilo already prevalent, I don't see why they would take the time to develop their own means.
