so ... after i played wizard for about 1500 hours only, i decided to have a serious look at the other classes..
So now iam stuck with all the things i want and all the things i cannot get...
I want a Wizard, Monk,Barb,DH, WD and Templer for Solo Grifts.. 6 Char slots
I also want a ZDPS Doc, ZDPS templer and maybe ZDPS monk. 3 Char slots
.. then the GroupOptimized DH 1 char slot
and a T6 speed monk 1 char slot
+ a secondary character for experiments for all classes : 6 slots
thats 17 characters.. i only have 15 slots..
I cannot switch gear because i hate it. I really really hate it.. the whole purpose of this stuff is having the right character just a switch away...
I dont have enough space in stashes because blizzard thinks its enough..
As a comparison in diablo2 i had 2 main accounts and about 30 mule accounts with items sorted by type, rarity and quality.
So there was like a NormalSetMule1, a NormalUniqueMule1-5 etc etc etc etc
i just cant stand throwing away stuff..
I know there is no solution to the problem.. but hell i wanted to cry once for myself..
I never thought i'd ran into those problems while i was only playing my wizzard(s).. but now..
holy shit what should i do.
Dont tell me i need to focus more...
I would only focus if it would be required by my limited time.. but hell i was able to push my monk to grift 41 within 3 days .. not 3 days of playtime but 3 days.. maybe 12 hours playtime.... so why focus..
I so much would like to tackle the game from all perspectives.. but i cannot without annoying the shit out of me.
I have all that. I play all that. Just for the sake of updating my solo ranks (really far behind, I dislike solo and play in groups 99% of the time) I completed GR37-42 rifts on all 6 classes. I then proceeded to do some 2p with my WD, and after that I ran some trials with monk (efficient low level key farming). Those are the classes/builds I played yesterday just within a few hours:
Fire DH
Lightning DH (way better than fire DH imho, at least for me as someone who doesn't like the new fire DH)
WoL/EP lightning monk
Raekor barb (holy crap stop talking about nerf... by far the easiest of them all)
Carnevil WD (I know Jade is OP and blabla, but I hate Jade, and Carnevil is soooo much fun)
Wizard (yep, still sucks - just most boring class *to me* at this point)
Stampede Crusader (how the hell do people GR45+ with this - I don't have ancient gear but still, GR40 felt like next to impossible)
zDPS WD
CS monk (trials)
Since patch 2.1.2, I've played all those other classes/builds:
zDPS Crusader (my favorite, together with zDPS WD)
T6 Annihilation monk
Pure pet Crusader
Normal bounties/white farming Danetta+Natalya DH
Tempest Rush monk
Lower GR pull/speed monk
EP/SSS cold monk for group high-end GRs (testing: inconclusive)
And not even mentioning all other classes that I've geared up or am considering but that (unfortunately) have no use for now, such as Archon wiz, lightnin wiz, cold wiz, basically any wizard that is fun (i.e., non-fire); pure pet WD; EQ barb; Roland's Crusader (the set is amazing but damn Akkhan just kills it); and about a million different monk builds.
Worst thing about that: We've only got 5 stash pages. 6 classes, 5 stash pages. You only need elementary school level math to figure out the issue here. Every time I switch classes (not even builds) I need to empty one stash page to put the gear in one character's inventory and empty another character's inventory into the stash.
Basically, TL;DR: The absolutely ridiculous space limitations kill diversity because they *force* you into throwing away all non-cookie cutter gear and deincentivize any kind of theorycrafting, testing, experimenting. Blizzard's "Play your Way Thursday" would EXPLODE if they'd double the stash space.
(Oh, and people who tell me to "trash all non-ancient gear because every non-ancient item sucks and you get everything ancient anyways: please get lost. I played like hell since patch, paragon 720 to 763, and all ancient items I got were perfect rolls of the useless sets/weapon. All those GR37-42 solo clears mentioned above were done with 0 or at most 1 ancient item per character; no ancient weapon on any of them. Good thing I play support classes in GRs, which can craft their gear.)
Back when sunwuko was all about flying dragon i stashed 4 o 5 of then to try them out the differences between LpSS, LoH, Life regen. etc- while doing this i was throwing away all the torches, all the fist weapons, etc- because i ran out of space constantly (i play the 6 classes to keep the game fun and different)
Patch 2.1.2 live -> fuck me right?
So yeah, now with ancient items i will be throwing away all the items when i found the ancient version of them and as far as character slots go, i only have the regular version of RoS i think you get a few more char slots when you buy/upgrade to the deluxe i'm right?
PS: sorry for the gramar mistakes, english isn't my main

So i actually could play all stuff i want.. but i have to realign my inventory stash all the time..
and thats exactly what is annoying the shit out of me..
They should really make a small portal in every town that when you step into it, it teleports you out of the game but technically you are still in the same game so you don't need to start or resume game again. While in that portal, the character selection menu will come up and you could change characters on the fly while still in game. Also, they really need to either increase stash space overall or just add a single stash tab that will be unique for every character you have. Just something that would solve the fucked up hassle of checking on your mules for lost items and salcaging potentially awesome items just because you are running out of space.
If the character selection screen is hard coded somehow then seriously, we are screwed. I remember a blue post stating that there are certain elements in the game that are hard coded like the in game UI for an example (the skill barb and all that) and that it would take a tremendous developing effort to change said elements. I don't know how true that statement is but it makes you wonder if we would ever get some of the QOL changes people have been asking for, for ages now.
i actually only need 2 tabs account wide and 3 tabs per character.. that would be like so awesome ---
Even 1 tab per character would be awesome. I mean, in D2 we had a stash per character with 48 slots... 480 stash slots per account. In D3 you've got 7 (columns) * 10 (rows) * 5 (tabs) = 350 stash slots. Can I donate some money to Blizzard for their poor servers? Just a few bits to store some more items, please. With that rate, Diablo 5 will only allow you to store one item per slot and stash will be for materials only...
And yes, I can't stop than being cynical here. I spend almost more time going through my inventory every week to sort out items that I can salvage rather than playing. Sunday has become my "sort the loot" day - would be great to be able to actually play the game and not having to make decisions about which set I don't want to play with in the next few weeks. Sigh.
For people who like to casually play a lot of different builds (as opposed to people who only speed through as fast as possible and only play the top build for a class), the insultingly low number of character slots really ties your hands. These devs just thought it would be totally fine to go from D2's unlimited characters and unlimited mule storage to not even two D2 accounts worth of characters slots and enough stash space for one or two classes when we have six. And they thought fans would be cool with that. Absolutely mind boggling. I wanted to roll two seasonal characters but that just wasn't an option because I want to save a slot for the next few seasons without having to delete anyone.
The stash space issue is only going to get worse, as they are adding new sets to the game in 2.2. I really wish they would take the time to develop a second and maybe even third gear set per character. That way you at least only need one monk, and can have 3 different gear/skill/paragon setups without having to switch characters. They could design it so you can lock an item to keep it the same on multiple set ups (Royal ring, SOJ, amulet, etc). That would take some of the sting out of both the character limit and the stash space issues. It wouldn't totally solve them, but at least it would be something.
5 classes ns
4 classes season
1 mule each primary stat ns
1 mule each primary stat season
I'm out of characters. I can delete some duplicate classes now to make room for season 2 toons, but I'll be at 6 ns, so 1 less season toon available.
All of my mules are full. Combining them will take a while. Some items will be duplicates that can be deleted, but not all, so the mules will overflow into the already stuffed stash. This is exactly why I had to farm forever for an Incense Torch. Salvaged all the ones I found earlier because I had to prioritize and when was I really going to use that?
I'm really not sure what Blizzard is thinking on this. I get that it will never be enough for everyone, but right now, it's not enough for anyone.
