your guy looks fine i wouldnt change much of anything...maybe the bracers. looks solid. here is my guy us.battle.net/d3/en/profile/Lokrie-1709/hero/10860221 if someone could give me some solid advice on what to change without spending tens of millions of gold lemme know what the weakest piece is and what to do overall
I really don't see much needing fixing really. You look very solid. The only thing I can think of is trying to find an echoing fury with socket and life steal, which when combined with your LoH would make the higher MPs much easier. 9/10
I`d say those gloves need resists on them, but you should probably wait untill the prices drop, while you`re legs are pretty decent and double resist is very good picking up a pair with lower initial dex and 2 sockets would be better
I took your advice and replaced my gloves with ones with some minor resists (and more crit & AS%). Then, in a short time period Saturday (~4 hours) the goddess of chance finally smiled upon me and I got: Inna's Radiance, Inna's Temperance, and Laccunni Prowlers to drop. Now I'm trying to decide whats next on my upgrade chain since that kind of tossed any plans out the window. I'm thinking of finding rings/neck with AR or Fire Res.
Well, I don't have much to say now that you've posted it. You have a rather good setup going. Only thing I can see is maybe getting a weapon with both crit, socket, and life steal.
heres me eu.battle[dot]net/d3/en/profile/Skulley-2691/hero/56601
i know i need some LoH or life steal its so expensive...
You have a total of +0% movement speed and that should really be 12% around 30k, 24% around 60k approximately.
Inna's pants, lacuni bracers, run speed rare, nat's boots, fire walkers, ice climbers, wanderlust ring. Any of those have the movement speed you need.
Bracers should have around 100 resistance, same with boots. If you go inna's pants you'll be in need of health. Shoulders or belt would be easier places to get it. +% health might help.
You're running with no life per spirit / on hit / steal. One weapon should really be steal or heavy loh at your dps. The ammy is a great source of loh, maybe blackthorne pants/ammy for a big defensive / loh boost.
holy crap Luedine! pretty defensive build! and thats understating it. 2700+ LOH, 89K HP.....is this what you prefer? to each their own, i suppose. you dont seem to have much crit chance or damage which would severely raise your DPS. start with the gloves, then the rings. are you only upgrading from what you find? and not purchasing on AH? I love that you did something different, just cant see it working. 6 out of 10....A for effort. lol. Or is that just for running MP10? then maybe it makes "more" sense, but not sacrificing the dps like that

All gear has been found or purchased for below 100k on the AH.
Exception being the fist of legend which went for 8m.
thats kind of what i was figuring. more power to you. i would still be in hell difficulty if i had to keep wearing stuff i found.
Very nice LoH guess you need to improve on your dps to chop down mobs faster. But other then that it looks like a solid build. One way to add some dps to your build without buying new gear is to change your rune on sweeping wind to cyclone but your crit chance might be to low for that to be a dps boost.
Change the rune in breath of heaven to blazing wrath that should give you some dps.
I would upgrade your bracers, and lifesteal on weapons to help with the low vit, then maybe upg your gems. Then of course the expensive endgame stuff like witching hour belt with high vit, etc. 8/10
I want to replace my mainhand with a weapon similar to my offhand. The problem is I can only afford weapons with CD,LS,and socket and remain in the 1k-950+ dmg range. If i want a stat like dex or vit I have to get a low 900 dmg weapon which I dont think will be a DPS increase although it might be a survivability increase with the life steal. When I bought my offhand it was a dps downgrade from my current mainhand(the 50CD + 50 dex is a 2k dmg downgrade from the 195 dex + higher dmg), which makes me leary of buying any new weapon with less than 1k dmg on it (unless it had 90% CD on it or something in which case it will be out of my price range anyway. Does anyone know aprox how much Dex = CD? Ive tried to use those DPS spreasheets and I can't get them to work. Whenever I enter my stats into the spreadsheet, nothing changes (ive tried 3 or 4 different ones). Any help would be appreciated.
After I get my mainhand sorted out, I would save up for nat boots + nat ring, then witching hour belt, or maybe a higher dps neck.
You're definitely a little more geared than I am, but we've got similar builds, so I'll respond with what I'd probably do in your shoes.
The cyclone build generates significantly more damage with higher attack speed. That being the case, I'd look at swapping out Skorn for 2x 1.4+ APS 1-H weapons, probably 1 with Dex, Crit Dmg + Socket, the other with Dex, Life Steal & Socket. Alternately, if you like Skorn/2-H playstyle, look at swapping your SW rune to Bladestorm or Firestorm -- you will probably see more DPS from those vs the cyclones.
In addition to that, I'm curious why you use Mantra of Evasion? I'm sitting around 65-70k dps and use MoC/Overawe and the additional damage should outweigh the reduction in dodge, especially at your DPS level.
As for gear, only suggestion I have is swap out Bond Ploy for a ring with higher Dex, Crit Chance and Crit Damage. Your gloves (find Crit Damage + Crit Chance) and amulet (higher Crit Chance & Damage) could also be replaced.
My Monk:StandByMe-1120/hero/570204
(Note: I've got Light Resist Vile Ward in my stash, maximizing my MF for a couple goblins with the currently equipped shoulders)
I actually love the skorn, and the 2h playsyle. Thats the first legendary item i found, prior to 1.05.
I'll try swapping the cyclone for bladestorm, see how it goes.
As for evasion- i actually use it for the rune itself- backlash grants me the edge i need by disrupting attacks from mobs and dealing 30K dmg, which is by all means not bad. I also love group play, and i reckon that the others should enjoy a buff from my mantra, and i find this one the best choice.
btw, thanks for your reply :]
I'll try and fetch a better ring and amy
Looks good overall, although I think you should try and get more resistance. I'm always being told at least 600-800 is a must. Something that confused me was your passive skill, Guardian's path. Why are you using it when you don't have a 2h?
I'd try and get more Crit Chance, and maybe some resist (can't see how much AR you have) if you need. More damage obviously, but that's what everyone is always going for.
I was gonna ask you why you aren't using Guardian's Path instead of Sixth Sense. It'd give you more dodge. 15% versus your 7.65% with Sixth Sense. Sixth Sense is only better than Guardians Path at Crit Chance greater than 50% (50*0.3 = 15%).
Before it's asked, I used Exalted Soul for speed farming via Tempest Rush. I find I can fill 250 spirit within 1-2 mob fights. Then its 49% MS to the next group (which also helps to maintain cyclone without re-cast).
I'd get rid of that belt and use the chest for the 2 set bonus and possibly replace your second ring, shouldn't be too expensive to get a decent crtchance/as or critdamage/as one with decent amount of dex.

Got lucky y-day and sold a set chest for 17 mil and bought boots, echoing fury, gloves, amulet and headpiece from it, jumped up about 30k dps, going to save up for inna's chest now or possibly a new MH weapon, any other pointers?
I know my boots don't have movement speed but I tried searching for boots with 220+ dex and movement speed and the prices are out of control. Will buy a new pair of those in the long run but it's not a huge priority

I've been playing this monk for a couple days. What should be my next upgrade? Guess I need more LoH. Amulet? Weapon? Off-hand should have high base attack speed or it doesn't matter?Edit: Just changed both weapons and my necklace, but armory hasn't been updated so far. Hope it does before someone reads my post.
Thanks in advance!
PS: Sorry for not rating the monk above me. I'm still new to the class, but, Nimerah, you gear is great. I would only get some experience bonus for faster paragon leveling. Probably not your focus at the moment.
So this is my build I know it's not great but I don't have any luck with money. I know there is a lot to change but I was wondering if I should change my crit dmg on my ring and neck to atk speed ? And for my weapon if I can't afford LoH+Crit Dmg+Socket wich one should I focus on ? I was planning on buying the full Inna's set (when I have the money) but is it worth it ?

rings could use a hit, try to sneak pickup radius on your bracer.

Just upgraded boots/bracers/shoulders (the +12k healing on potions from the boots is insane, 25K Health Potions are very nice)
