Issue:
Running it with Crossfire enabled makes the game *laggy*. The frames are not running fluently, as if its vibrating a little (if that makes any sense)
Im not referring to FPS, which is a stable 60 at any occasion.
When turning off crossfire, it seems to be a lot less apparent.
(side issue):
Installing D3 on my SSD made the game stutter A LOT less. Normally when you're exploring the map, you can hear your HDD rattle to find the content, stuttering the game in the process.
When installed on the SSD, the stuttering is nearly non-existing.
So, is everyone else experiencing this issue? My raid0 HDD's are around 4 years old, which may also be the cause. But still function really well in benchmarks.

its and earth quake effect on some of the best computers can run it.
I believe what you are seeing is micro stuttering http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Micro_stuttering which basically is a problem you can get with dual GPU setups. I don't think that D3 is very optimized for SLI/Crossfire so that could be a reason why the problem is so visible.
I don't really know if there's anything you can do about it except turning off crossfire and hoping for better driver optimization in the future.

Select full window mode - this disables your 2nd (and 3rd/4th) GPU.

There are plenty of people around the internet with zero issues running a two gpu crossfire with WoW, so I'd imagine it's something with your config (drivers, etc). Aside from that, with the kind of gpu cards we are talking about, there's no reason to use crossfire with WoW. The game is primarily cpu bound so it just doesn't push the gpu enough.

No argument here. I had thought about going the multi-gpu route, but it's not worth it between the money you spend and how hit-or-miss it is depending upon the game.

Increasing shadow quality will give you significantly more micro stutter. I currently run everything maxed out Except the shadow quality, which is on low. I now experience -no- micro stutter at all.

I have found the same correlation between shadow quality and stutter with my sli setup. I usually run lower shadow quality on most games to avoid this even though shadows are one of the best factors for how a game looks overall when trying to use ultra or highest game settings. But I think this is more cpu intensive then gpu, plus the bandwidth requirements depending on your resolution.
As for D3 i don’t have the beta, yet :P, but I would lean toward drivers and sli/xfire optimization at this point. Most games seem to improve a lot in this area post release, I would assume the majority of gamers don’t have dual, tri or quad gpu support because of the expense.
My friend has the beta and I was able to play it a couple times... Anyways, I actually experienced micro stuttering with one gpu. I have an i5 2500k with a SSD and I'm using an 8800GT.
(I realized the card is a little dated, but I'll probably wait until a release date is announced to buy a new card.)
Next time I get a chance to play, I will try reducing the shadow quality to see if it improves the micro stuttering, and post here if it helps. Good find!
