A little more detail on your "crash" would be appreciated in order to help you.
For example, what kind of crash is it? You arrive at a "error #xxx" page, your browser closes, your computer restarts, etc.?
What are your computer's specs? ( I highly doubt it is related, unless your computer is 15+ years old).
Personally, with Firefox and Chrome, I never crashed. Never tried IE... deleted forever from my computer

And, by any chance, do you have the nVidia Forceware driver? Some of my friends had that kind of problem and disabling/removing it (not sure which one they did) solved the problem.
EDIT : I will be back tomorrow morning. Good luck on finding a fix

Launching as Admin can cure a variety of ailments. Also, have you tried Google Chrome as your browser? It's my favorite of the 2 legitimate options.
Forgot to mention : if Admin mode doesn't work, try to update your GPU drivers. (I always forget about basic solutions when I'm tired :P)
If that doesn't work :
Before uninstalling the Forceware driver, you *should* look on the Internet for a driver specific to your nVidia GPU.
Also, before running the installation, you should remove Forceware (and download its installator from the nVidia website as a backup in case something goes wrong) so it doesn't conflict with the installator. If you prefer, you could tell us which GPU you have and we could look for the download link for you. In case you do not know, you can find the details of your GPU by going in the Control Panel -> Device Manager and clicking on the arrow to the left of "Display adapters" (or double-clicking on it).
To disable/enable the driver, right-click on your GPU in the Device Manager (path shown above) and click on the corresponding option.
On a side-note : I don't know much about nVidia drivers since I always had ATI GPU, so the information contained in this post is mostly based on my past experiences with ATI cards and the softwares that come with it. If someone with nVidia graphics card come in this thread, you should listen to him more than me if he makes sense.

nVidia Forceware driver is only a software that allows you to set specific options to your graphics card, just like the Catalyst Control Center for ATI graphic cards. Therefore, disabling or uninstalling it only disables the options you set through it, and not the graphics card itself.
If you prefer, before doing that, you could either update the Forceware driver (if it is not up-to-date) or look on the Internet for a driver specific to your nVidia GPU.
If you go with the second option, before running the installation, you should remove Forceware (and download its installator from the nVidia website as a backup in case something goes wrong) so it doesn't conflict with the installator. If you prefer, you could tell us which GPU you have and we could look for the download link for you. In case you do not know, you can find the details of your GPU by going in the Control Panel -> Device Manager and clicking on the arrow to the left of "Display adapters" (or double-clicking on it).

As for the administrator mode, check out the post above mine.
oh ok thanks alot! ill try and find those out when i get back from the gym. my GPU is "NVIDIA GeForce GTX 570"

Here are the driver download links :

Sorry for the late reply, was busy with family and all for the New Year celebrations
To remove the Forceware driver, you should find it under Control Panel -> Programs. Right-click on the Forceware driver and select "Uninstall"/"Remove".
PS : I *think* (99.99% sure) that Hypnotiq stopped reading after his quote

NVIDIA 3D vision controller driver 267.85
NVIDIA 3D vision driver 267.85
NVIDIA GRAPHICS DRIVER 267.85
NVIDIA HD AUDIO DRIVER 1.2.22.1

NVIDIA 3D vision controller driver 267.85
NVIDIA 3D vision driver 267.85
NVIDIA GRAPHICS DRIVER 267.85
From those numbers, I can see your drivers are out of date. If you follow the link to the newest driver for your graphics card (http://www.nvidia.co...hql-driver.html), you can see that the version is 285.62, as yours is 267.85.
You have 2 ways to update your drivers :
1) Go to the Device Manager (Control Panel -> Device Manager and click on the arrow to the left of "Display adapters" or double-click on it). Right-click your GPU and select the "Update driver(s)" option.
2) If that doesnt work (the device manager says the driver is up to date even though it's not), follow the link to the latest driver (http://www.nvidia.co...hql-driver.html) and start the installer.
Seriously, I can't believe I didn't think about updating the drivers first. I always forget the most basic solutions
PS: On the text editor, you will find an icon with a tree on it (below the text color/smiley one). Click on it and paste the URL of your image.

I'm pretty sure it will since you mentioned it started after the website overhaul. When websites change, they usually improve graphics, which then results in the website needing the newest drivers to work properly.
I hope it fixes it, because I pretty much ran out of solutions =/
