Haven't played D3 in months or even visited these forums (I used to post/comment daily).
How's the game currently? Any better? Any worse? Any new groundbreaking features?
I've been playing GW2 and loving it. I managed to get Savage as my name (GW2-unique names!) so if anyone plays shoot me a msg! Don't really see myself playing D3 again unless people are really loving it and I'm missing something absolutely spectacular. I've heard TL2 is pretty good actually - anyone playing it?
btw this isn't a troll attempt. I'm actually genuinely interested in how the game is because at one point I was obsessed with it (or the idea of it anyway... sigh).
If you personally liked the grinding to lvl 99 on Diablo 2, the Paragon Lvl system is going to please you a lot (I hate it having multiple characters and limited time available). And if you personally hate that you need tons of MF to have a decent chance of dropping legendaries/sets, you're probably going to like it as well.
If you want to have fun trying out crazy effects on weapons, the new legendaries will probably please you as well, and most of them are actually useable now and can compete with a lot of rares. If you care mostly about insane efficiency and having the best possible character ever, some legendaries/set also grant you that (IKs, Skorn, Manticore).
Some monsters spike dmg have been fixed (like skull cleavers, and I say fixed because of how out of line they were with every other monster out there), and some affixes have been tuned. Overall you'll notice that it's slightly less frustrating going against some combos.
Patch 1.0.5 has some significant changes to end-game (Infernal machine and loot drops) and difficulty balancing (monster power). Check those out.
Preferably not on the official forums, it's filled with ignorant people who enjoy spending their (probably not so precious) time complaining 24/7 about how every change is bad and that TL2 is so much better, even though probably 90% of them won't play TL2 for more than a weekend and have played D3 for hundreds of hours.
TL2 feels better (many will swear to you that is specially true regarding loot) if you're oblivious to game systems and do not care about end-game or a fluid and varied combat (varied as in using more than 2 skills). If you have a clue about how ARpgs work you'll realize that you can beat TL2 with a single skill, lvl 5 gear (since it's pretty much the same as lvl 35 gear in terms of combat effectiveness) and a half-decent weapon. Or if you have enough mana potions, you can do it with a single skill (that's what I did at least, even with a great weapon) a bit disappointing if you ask me.
BL2 is seriously awesome, both in the loot feeling and the solid combat mechanics and difficulty (you simply can't beat enemies by facetanking every bullet in every gunfight); but Gearbox seriously needs to learn how to tune skills for higher difficulties. Once again the Commando's Turret is absolutely useless in higher difficulties since it's one-shot by every single enemy (not only bosses and elites, which would be somewhat fine). Hopefully patches will fix that. But the game is insanely fun to play with friends
Welcome back.
Barb was for the most part the weakest class farming wise, a build came up in late june that made it the most popular and efficient class,
Build turned out to e to good for blizzard and they are hitting it with the nerfbat.
Ball is passing to WDs.
Lvl a WD. Get the gear for infinite mana/spirit walk and bears. Profit.

It was broken. There's a difference between an effective build, and "Why the heck bother with any other class?" effective. Barb was clearing content five times faster than anything else could ever hope to. It was unprecedented in how broken it was.
I guess they could have brought all the classes up to that level... by giving them all a constant run-speed boost of 80% and non-stop CC immunity.
They're reducing the proc ratio on Sprint's Whirlwinds by about 60%.
Some say that will kill the build, some say it won't. I have personally seen an averagely geared Barb still doing fine in the PTR (a friend of mine tested his at 40%~ crit chance), but they aren't healing as much or keeping WotB up 100% of the time, and sometimes run out of fury if they mismanage their fury.
Just play it and see for yourself (but read the patch notes first). People's opinions are like assholes: everyone will have one.
To be fair, he asked for our opinion. We can present both some facts for him to have a preemptive view of what's changing, and our opinions on those changes - and he can judge them worthy or not on his own.
A couple facts on what has changed: legendaries changed quite a lot, Paragon lvl-system is similar to D2's grind for lvl 99, weapons of ilvl 60-62 can now roll good dmg/affixes; patch 1.0.5 will introduce a couple new end-game and difficulty-related systems, as well as rework how cc skills work.
Things like "the game is better", "Paragon is awesome", "the end-game still sucks", "the game is easymode they nerfed everything", "they are nerfing builds/skills", "game is less/more fun" are opinions. You just gotta be careful when reading these to not join the mob mentality without having your own reasons/opinions.
Well they introduced paragon system wich some like and some not..
the good about it is that each lvl you got 3% mf for you char, the not so good about that is that this does not encourage ppl to make other classes until reach 100 as it does not have anything else in the game like pvp or stuffs, only grind gear ...
I take that you are being sarcasm. Each patch is worst off. Instead of buffing other skills to make the game more fun, they nerfed skill players love.
If you want build diversification, you need to give people choice. Giving people poop A vs poop B is not a choice.
No, I'm not being sarcastic, but I know it's difficult for some people like you to actually understand that a lot of people like the game and like the features they are adding with each patch.

thats true, in overall the changes are nice and the game is getting better and better, ofc we dont have to agree with all the changes but whatever, just take some time to get the mechanics and have fun with the add/nerfed/buffed content, always will exists a way to complete the challenges just find out

TL2 is very simple, but drastically different from D3, so if there was a lot about D3 that didn't sit well with you, chances are you'll enjoy TL2.
They're nerfing ww barb?
