lol, Diablo 3 sold on the name alone. And I wouldn't be surprised it having less players than Diablo 2 right now. The fact that it initially sold 10 million means nothing when you look at the user reviews on any gaming website including here. Go check out the 'is diablo 3 boring' thread.

So the MetaScore of 90 means everyone that professionally reviewd the game are full of it? Of course, then there are the trolls that coutner with, "They were paid by Blizz to post a good review." Get a life. It's a video game.
Oh joy! Another troll-thread complaining about how Blizzard isn't listening to The Right People.
The internet definitely needs more of those.
Dude stop trolling this post, this guy is serious and he has a good point. It's quite obvious, d3 wont be nearly as good as d2 ever was.
D3 already has a larger player base then D2 ever had, it also has more players on at one time RIGHT NOW then D2 ever did.
Reality sure is a sucker punch to troll balls isnt it?
Honestly, Im gonna laugh so damn hard at the internet as a whole when D3 gets an expansion, and it sells like 10 million copies on week 1 again.

HAHA, 'professionally'. Dude, the game itself in the beginning is great. It is fun for the first 2 difficulties. Journalistic critics are shallow at this point and are irrelevant. I mean they even give COD good reviews. They didn't take into account the end-game of Diablo 3, the replayability aspect, etc. The based it on the pretty graphics, and gameplay with shit exploding and shaking oh how kewwwl. Users show the REAL feelings about the game. And as you can see, the majority is disappointed.

I can do that.
Wait for what?
The inevitable surge in players for 1.0.4, the inevitable sales of the D3 expansion, the inevitable surge again when PvP drops, etc, etc, etc.
Hence, the "waiting".
Im sure you will try and rationalize all of these things, with sad and uninformed reasoning as to why D3 still "sucks".

haha, that's what you guys said when the game was released and that's what you said after every fail patch and the population is still declining. I was also optimistic with a couple of initial patches, then I gave up because I saw that blizzard won't radically change Diablo 3. RMAH will always be a constant, it is a must for their business model.
Now to expansion. Given how much butthurt is out there about the game, a lot of people that thought of buying it, won't, I'm one of them. I uninstalled Diablo 3 a month ago and I don't even miss. But I'm a Diablo fan and I still have a small glimmer of hope left for Diablo 3, but it's REALLY small now because I see how Blizzard treats the franchise now and it's sad. It's probably gonna be another, 'buy 6 months world of warcraft subscription and you get free Diablo 3 expansion'. Even people that don't care for it and play wow would do it.

You can't possibly survey every single player. But taking into account those players that use these review websites, fan-sites like this one, the official forums etc, the majority IS disappointed. It is a good representation of the entire player base. And I highly doubt even 500,000 people are playing right now.

Here I am back at the waiting.
I'll make 3 BOLD predictions here, all on Blizzard games that have received very similar kinds of hate;
Prediction #1 MoP, the much whined about, often hated on expansion to WoW, will sell more units on day 1 then any other MMO on the planet.
Prediction #2 HoTS, the second installment in SC2 will outsell any other RTS game, heck, any other PC game on day 1.
Prediction #3 The first D3 expansion will hit or break the sales records D3 has set in the first week.
I believe you asked for a discussion of "civility." Dae did respond in a very timely manner. It appears that you didn't read a single thing he said. I will save you the time of going back a page and scrolling around. I would suggest you re-read it because it's pretty stupid that you are blatantly ignoring what he said in this very thread about keeping it civil.
Civil means not arguing with one another. It's fine to say "look this is what I think is wrong with the game, and they could do X to improve it." That's a legitimate complaint and your personal feelings on the game. What is not okay is to bicker with eachother to no positive end. Constructive discussion on how to better the game if you feel its lacking is good, explaining how the game is a complete failure and never will be good is... well accomplishing what besides arguing? I mean can you at least see what I'm getting at?
If you feel the game is so far gone there's no hope then what do you want to accomplish with a discussion besides leading it into arguing? If you want to discuss things you think the game needs that's a nice discussion and perfectly okay because people can work with that. There has to be room for discussion. I'm not going to allow any posts or topics that are ONLY offering argument instead of discussion. It's not a question of it being a negative thread, we have tons of those.
I understand a good handful of people have problems with the game, that's okay but talk it out. We all love the Diablo franchise and care about the well being of D3 to some extent or we wouldn't be here. Keep that in mind. We're all here because of a mutual love of something and we don't all have to feel the same way about it, but it needs to be presented in a way that isn't automatically offensive to one side or the other.
We're all brothers in arms and I <3 you all. Please keep it civil, don't make it personal, and allow room for differing opinions.

What real competition is there for WoW? Doesn't wow have like 10 million subscribers? Blizzard built a great name for their titles in early 2000s up until 2008. After that it took a U-turn. Now you see them make desperate attempts at regaining players like the 'buy x months/years of WoW subs and get a free 'non-wow blizzard product''.

after reading stuff like this i wonder why people come back to these forums to complain. If your going to quit just take yourself, don't break stuff and kick the door down on your way out, then turn with one foot out the door around and try and defend your pride as if it's the only right perspective. If threating to leave because the game design is unfair to you then LEAVE, leave the game and the forums and stop trying to shoot and beat our pride as badly as yours have been treating. What this situation is like, is a mini suicide. Your never going to do it, you just want to be noticed. The complaining that were having is over the top and needs to stop.

#2 The number 1 Esports game in the world, most players, most tournaments, highest payouts, most television coverage, nuff said.
#3 Like I said, all I have to do is wait, then laugh.
Heres a little bit of perspective;
Everyone HATES CoD right? I mean, its a freaking Meme on the net to hate on that series right? So, everyone MUST dislike it, and hate it for a variety of reasons right? Because the internet says so?
Then please, PLEASE explain to me why CoD games sales actually go UP everytime a new one is released? Not just once or twice, but EVERY SINGLE TIME?
I love it how you direct that at me and not the obvious troll that I'm responding to....
Nah, you're trolling with biased uninformed opinions. It was directed at you for a reason, and it applies to everyone that aren't doing what Daemaro is quoted on.
Any obvious Diablo 3 flaw that is pointed out on these forums is always called 'trolling and hating'. But pro Diablo 3 trolls are overlooked. Talk about bias. You guys can't take simple criticism. Blizzard preys on that, that's why they're so quick to delete criticism
threads on the official forums and they're working overtime. If you just say, 'oh the game has issues, but I'm sure it will be fixed' is just a weak attempt at calming yourself. You gotta present specific gripes about it and in numbers to make blizzard listen. Otherwise they don't care.
Remember the battle.net 2.0, when it was released without chat channels, people starting 'whining' and 'trolling' about it's lame features and how can there possibly not be chat channels? And after like 3 months, they finally implemented them even though before Blizzard said that, 'but seriously, who HONESTLY used chat channels? hurhurhur'. They're ignorant right now, we gotta open their eyes so that they fix this horrid disappointment.

Reality man, get a dose of it.
It's called marketing. There are way more ADHD kiddies out there than actual FPS lovers. You go for the common majority to generate more sales. Marketing 101. Yes, that REALITY. Stop living in a bubble world.

Because all I have seen is mindless blind hate and uninformed BS.
Heck I have even pointed out D3's shortcomings, and many others have too. On this very forum. (example, Legendarys, yup, they sucked, we know, and look, they are addressing them directly. Skills, some of them sucked, and surprise! Guess what they are doing?)
You know you dont have a leg to stand on when you have to misdirect the conversation to something completely unrelated.....

I did present a whole variety of specific criticism yesterday. And Daemaro deleted it because it was "uncivil".
What exactly are they doing with the skills? +/- to damage here and there, +/- 0.4 seconds here and there? You call that fixing?
You were the one that misdirected it to COD and other blizzard titles, hypocrite. Typical fanboy troll.
/yawn
So the MetaScore of 90 means everyone that professionally reviewd the game are full of it? Of course, then there are the trolls that coutner with, "They were paid by Blizz to post a good review." Get a life. It's a video game.
Wait for what?
HAHA, 'professionally'. Dude, the game itself in the beginning is great. It is fun for the first 2 difficulties. Journalistic critics are shallow at this point and are irrelevant. I mean they even give COD good reviews. They didn't take into account the end-game of Diablo 3, the replayability aspect, etc. The based it on the pretty graphics, and gameplay with shit exploding and shaking oh how kewwwl. Users show the REAL feelings about the game. And as you can see, the majority is disappointed.
Battle.net Profile / Diablo Progress Profile
The inevitable surge in players for 1.0.4, the inevitable sales of the D3 expansion, the inevitable surge again when PvP drops, etc, etc, etc.
Hence, the "waiting".
Im sure you will try and rationalize all of these things, with sad and uninformed reasoning as to why D3 still "sucks".
Hence my "laughing".
Also, could you point me to over 5 MILLION dissapointed players?
Even 4 million?
3?
1?
500,000?
No? Could you even direct me to 1% of the user base being "dissapointed"?
Imagine that.
haha, that's what you guys said when the game was released and that's what you said after every fail patch and the population is still declining.
I'll make 3 BOLD predictions here, all on Blizzard games that have received very similar kinds of hate;
Watch, wait and learn.
HoTs I don't care for and I doubt it will sell more. Even Battlefield 2 sold more than Starcraft 2 and Diablo 3.
"Prediction #3 The first D3 expansion will hit or break the sales records D3 has set in the first week."
HAHAHA, nice one.
I love it how you direct that at me and not the obvious troll that I'm responding to....
I'm just responding to his points. All he does is 'hur dur, wait for expansion I laugh at you, durhur'.
after reading stuff like this i wonder why people come back to these forums to complain.
Nah, you're trolling with biased uninformed opinions. It was directed at you for a reason, and it applies to everyone that aren't doing what Daemaro is quoted on.
Battle.net Profile / Diablo Progress Profile
#1 An MMO starting to die after over 8 YEARS of dominance? No other MMO has EVER lasted this long with this many subscribers, ever.
#2 The number 1 Esports game in the world, most players, most tournaments, highest payouts, most television coverage, nuff said.
#3 Like I said, all I have to do is wait, then laugh.
Heres a little bit of perspective;
Reality man, get a dose of it.
It's called marketing. There are way more ADHD kiddies out there than actual FPS lovers. You go for the common majority to generate more sales. Marketing 101. Yes, that REALITY. Stop living in a bubble world.
What are you even talking about?

Plenty of people are still buying D3 relative to other pc titles out there.
