Diablo 3 the uniques just aren't as good. Only reason people notice the difference.
Partly true, It is the common Magic / Rare beating the hell out of the Legendaries. If you search on Auction House 2-hander weapon and check those up, you will understand why I reckon something needs to be done....
Thanks for the advise. My personally experience tells me I got more constructive feedbacks here. I found generally people on battle net forums are not in the mood of spending more than 60 seconds to read any post.
i like the current system. legendaries can be fantastic with lucky rolls. rares can be fantastic with lucky rolls.
If you read my post, I had not problem against the Affixes value, it is the chance they getting rolled all together. You get like 10 pages of blues 2 handers leaving "The Grandfather" in shame on auction house is not what I want to see everyday. Also not to mention the game only released for a week. There will be heaps of more "Rare" "Magic" items beating up the "Legendaries" in a long run, due to the natural of the drop rate.
legendary boots with increased atk speed, i like em. 90k ^^
Does the Boj Anglers work? Last time I tried a pair on my barb, I see no effect on Attack per second what so ever.
90dex Boj gives more dmg than 160dex mf boots so yeah, it works
Thanks for the feedback, weird, I remember my barb was at 1.69 attacks per second duel wielding, with my 88 STR Boj did not do anything to it. I will try later, I might be dreaming....
What I find amusing is that people put up legendaries for 200k+ on nm while you could easily get a better rare at the same levels for around 10k. Hell If you do a search for under 5k and go through some pages you could easily get stuff thats decent at times.
Yep, the AH is too powerful for that matter. We can add in filters such as Max buy out 10000, STR 60 VIT 100 and just keep click on search till something pops up.
I agree about legendaries and I think Blizz has acknowledged it and is working on them to be better.
They have also acknowledged that Rares will be the best items in game if rolled well.
I remember reading something from Bashiok saying that the quality "Legendary" is given to items that have a unique name and skin. It doesn't mean that it's the best thing in game.
Don't get me wrong, The top tier Legendaries are weak where they are at, but the idea of Rares contending/surpassing Legendaries isn't new. In D2 there were some situations where a Rare item reined over a Unique, but it was common to see characters running around in Uniques and Runewords.
In the end we are sitting here again expecting a complete re-vamped system that wont happen. It's a new game and a new system... Sometimes we just have to get over the fact that the nostalgic items aren't worth the time/money. They are simply nostalgia nothing more.....

And why is that a bad thing?
Well, it hurts the replay value to me, essentially I was paying to play less. Maybe someone enjoys this, but I wanted to play the game more and getting the loots from the elites rather than this. I know the answer to it, just couldn't resist the charm of the auction house lol.

True, time will fix everything. I remember my 1-hander mace in D2 beating everything else, it had war cry affixes and every time I duel I put swap to the mace war cry.
I was never against the the affixes value, but to the % they get rolled all together. There are simply too many "Magic" and "Rare" beating the Legendary elites for example "The Grandfather".
It took me months to find something rare like these back in Diablo 2 and that was part of the fun of the game, and my hard efforts were rewarded. Now I just logon, click on "Auction House" - > "Equipment" -> "Search" -> "DPS". and there are heaps of loads of items easily sitting on top of "The Grandfather" . Hell if I spend a bit time searching, I will find a decent one and it's worth next to nothing.
I found when it is too easy to get things I want, I lose interest to the game fast. I am sure many of us were dreaming to get the first "Windforce" server wide before the game release. With the current situation of the items, I found myself never going to get any of these legendary weapons in the auction house unless they are super afforable, let alone farming months for them in the actual game.
AH is nice but I realized in late nightmare that, "man, why did I upgraded my blacksmith, for over 100k money?". Blacksmith is totally useless. I´m in level 54 with barb and crafting weapons is risky as hell and costs the same as AH prices. Something really needs to be done.
Another issue with AH is, that I can buy way too good items. I just sold 10 pretty crappy items over 150k (hehe...) and upgraded almost every piece of gear that I had. Before I was waiting all the time for epic loot and legendary/set items, now I just feel like, naah. If something cool drops its usually just same crap thats everywhere with wrong stats. I kind a love AH, but it takes something away from my gaming experience. The game is awesome otherwise.
just my thoughts. thanks for reading.
I feel the same, leaving black smithing to lv4 and not planning to revist anytime soon. We probably needs to force ourselves not over use AH. It's easier said than done, I can't resist to log out of the game and check AH every hour or so.

Then.... don't do that? The AH isn't forced upon you, play how you want to play. If you use the AH then you obviously don't enjoy grinding for your gear.

Well I guess there is a slight logical problem here, not sure you can see it. Anyways I think you understand the answer to your question.
From what I can tell the Legendaries only hold their name to two aspects:
1) Unique Appearance 2) Unique affixes (i.e. a wrist piece with "+ % ATK Speed" & + "% MOV Speed")
What evidence do you have that rares can't roll those affixes? A truly unique affix would be one seen ONLY on legendary gear (like immunity to slows, or chance on hit to create a 10 yd explosion for x% wep dmg).

Sorry I thought it would be pretty obvious, but I guess I'm wrong.
It seems that you may not use auction house a lot(which is a good thing). If you filter "Armor" - > "Wrist" , the sub filters are updated, and there is no "movement speed" for example in there for example compared to If you filter "Armor" - > "Boots".
Thanks for your suggestion about the Legendary unique affixes, and I'm updating it right now.
