now some might think this is trolling but i am kinda dissappointed in blizzard i figured that COLLECTORS EDITION meant that you get an in game item that is completely unitque and only available for the purchasers of this c e now i for one wish that was especially seeing as how i dont play wow or sc but they seem to benefit more from buying this than the pple playing solely for diablo 3 so why cant they give us one item that is extremely good not the best but if you work at it and build it up it will be the best for us paying the extra money idk but atleast i can chang the color of the arm o wait everyone can at least ill have wings o wait they do nothing for the actual game play to make it easier or more fun well let me know your opinion on it
Umm.. none of the blizzard collector editions ever offered anything to the games besides graphically, be it pets, portraits, and for d3 wings and dyes. The sc2 and wow things if anything are just extra "Bang for your buck". If anything just sell it on craiglist or something to someone who actually wants them. No one is making you buy collectors edition.
If anything, the only thing i really wish the collectors edition came with is the Book of Cain.
However it may be too late, who knows, the game boxes/cds could already be completely set for release.
true but i was just saying for the xtra buck i would like a bang not a little pop but i had misunderstood what was in it when they were discussing it i was under the impression that the 'pet' was for diablo three not wow so shamefully i have to admit that i had bought it under that and the under the assumption that the powders and or wings might actually do somthing or atleast somthing that not everyone can obtaine i agree that it will eventually come down to whoever has the biggest wallet will have the best stuff while some of us like me who work a dead end job and is considered below poverty level and can barely afford having a car to get back and forth to the minimum wage job and i had to save for an entire year to buy this and decided to actuallly blow and extra 40 i dont have to indulge in one little thing and i realize what a mistake i made after the fact of buying so i cant do anything now but whimper about it and try to enjoy the 40 dollars worth of stuff so dont take it as a im pissed off thing take it as a i misunderstood and now i regret it thing cause most of the time u pay extra for somthing it is usually something u would want
It would in my opinion be stupid to include actual ingame items. It gives unfair advantages and doesn't promote anything good in the game. Vanity items such as the angel wings are however super cool in my opinion. They are cosmetic so you can use them forever (a weapon might become useless at some point) and they look really cool and distinguish you from the rest of the crowd. It's a prestige kinda thing, and in my opinion, the angel wings are one of the coolest vanity items from any of the blizzard collectors boxes yet, far cooler than a pet.
That being said, you DO get a bang for your buck. If you decide to buy it you get an awesome usb pen and a really neat art book just to name a little. If you're not into that kind of thing, don't buy it. It's really that simple. It's a COLLECTORS editions. It's not meant to give you an egde in the game. It's mean to give those die hard fans that love the lore and the art a little extra cool to enjoy.
@Obliteratus: Book of Cain could have been such a cool addition, but the book itself is fairly expensive so would probably have been overkill but nice overkill ordered the book anyway, so wouldn't need a second one though ^^
i agree i would have liked the book also and i have a question or few one does anyone know if there is going to be a ladder and seasons 2 if so does the wings and items that are with the c e stay in ladder or will they too go to nl and become useless if u only play ladder 3 has anyone suggested on the whole pvp thing that they are trying to figure out y not implement a button next to the hostile button that agrees to duel or not if u click the duel button they can kill u but if u click the other button they cant do any damage to you?
Wait.. so the wings, does anyone know if you have to actually equip them as if they were a piece of gear? Or can they just sit in your inventory slots and show up on you? Seems more logical to just have it as an option to turn them on or off whenever. Kinda like the show/hide helmet and cloak feature in WoW except without having to equip and lose out on precious stats.

I think I read somewhere that they would work in the way that they could be toggled on and off. And I understand that as that they don't take up gear-spots.

The CE dyes are infinite in their use. Keep them forever, dye as much stuff as you want "Cloud" or "Smoke" colored. The colors are unique to the CE.
The wings are an item you hold in your inventory (don't take up an equipment slot on your character), and it's a toggle. Use to turn on, use again to turn off. They're awesome looking, and stack with other class effects like Shadow Power and Archon.

1 CE and 1 ordinary, I need the slots for farming. Gonna buy a good PC for the ordinary edition so I can play while im away from home.
The CE is my first CE every bought.. So I dont expect much then the artbook and a music album with the game. Everythingelse is a bonus, like wings and USB.
Im thinking of selling my Diablo 2 DVDs since I will get one on the USB, but I guess it wont happen since all the account crap. Or do someone know if you can sell your D2 games?
CE is so worth my money even if I dont give a rats ass about WOW or Starblast or whatever the name is.
You can sell your d2 cd's and people can use it to install the game and play it single player.
The only thing they can't do is add it to their battle.net account since you have the key already registered. (if you did)
Not sure how it works with the online play with d2 but last time i played some I already had the cd's linked to my bnet account.
But for some reason was required to make a new "account" in Diablo 2 to play online. Not sure what the deal is there perhaps someone can tell us that seems like its a seperate battlenet feature which isn't connected to your Battle.net account where you have wow / d3 / sc and your registered classic games.
D2 runs on battle.net not battle.net 2.0. That's the account your making when you play d2
But is the D2 on USB connected to the CE account then? Thats my second question. My old D2 DVDs are registered and I only play digital download of them now. So I guess its too late.

How it works is the installer app on your USB has the cdkey built into it (and is not tied to you b.net account in any way). When you click the installer, it auto fills in (shows you) the cd key it will be using.
You can just install the game normaly, and then go online, or you can attach the cd key to your battle.net account. Just as if you were to go out and buy a D2 cd right now.
So in theory. I can sell my USB Diablo statue as long as I dont install the D2 from it But USB is way too cool in the CE.
if you wanted to, yep. You can even install it and sell it, as long as you and the othet guy dont go on b.net at the same time in d2 (and dont attach it to your account)=P

no, they are tied to your account, and are not separate keys.
Also the wings and dyes ARE unique, a blue post said you wont be getting wings any other way.
