I mean, I understand that invites are still going out and that 99.9% of them still haven't gone out. And I'm not complaining about not being let in right at this moment, I accept that fact that I may or may not get in, thats completely fine with me..
What I don't get is what the point of this Beta even is anymore? Blizzard clearly stated it wasn't really for bugs, but more for stressing the servers and seeing how they would handle the load.
So the time has come, Beta is now live and what? Is Blizzard really stressing their servers with this 60-100 player base? I really don't get it, What happened to actually wanting to test it?
I would of expected at least for like a 1000 invites to go out a day until they reach a certain point. But they've let in what? maybe like 50 people ontop of the F&F.. I just don't see exactly how this is suppose to test their servers at all?..
What is your guys opinion on this? Do you think we will continue to see a slow, small, steady stream of 10 invites a day, or do you think at some point they will actually decide to STRESS their servers and begin sending out larger batches.
EDIT- Also I understand it's only been a day, so for all we know they might begin sending bigger batches in the near future.
Beta may be ready to go public but now they are probably just filtering data and communicating with their technical teams on which hardware profiles they want to test. Give it at least a day or two to find out how big the waves might be.
FFS.... i'm sick of all these threads complaining about the beta.
1.) Blizzard specifically stated that are starting small and incrementing the stress on the server. They are going to test it at tiered intervals (number of people using it).
2.) Force was able to beat it solo in under 2 hours. This beta isn't that big a deal. Yes, it would be fun to play a few times but get excited for release... not for beta. Get over it.

Woah buddy, calm down, I'm not complaining at all, im genuinely interested in what the community thinks blizzards approach is. I didn't at any given point complain in my original post. Lets please stay on topic.
I'm sure their first priority is to ensure that the servers don't insta-crash because a flood of opt-ins are foaming at the mouth to play and overload the system. I've heard reports (read: rumors) that they were crashing with 60 people on (public games).
I imagine once they fix the Public games and the Auction House they will send a lot more invites out; Keep in mind they haven't patched the client for nearly a week.
edit: It has been exactly one week since the past patch actually.

Yo... calm down, it's only 1pm western time, they finished their morning coffee an hour ago and left for lunch at 12:30... they're busy and will be back by 3:30 sharp. CHILL OUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUT.
Well they gotta speed it up eventually. They promised 1000 beta invites to Blizzcon attendee's and viewers last year. So they will at the very least have to invite 1000 people from that. Not to mention when this game finally releases at midnight, there's gonna be like a million people trying to log on simultaneously, so they are gonna have to start inviting substantially more people to test for that. I really don't understand what the hell they are doing tbh. Why announce the beta then invite like 50 people. Seems like a great way to piss off your fan base.
Can people please stop telling me to calm down, read my whole post before jumping to conclusions. I AM VERY CALM, I'm just interested in what people think.

There's no real way of knowing without more information, which we'll never get. It's perfectly possible they've identified some server/network/whatever issue that they're working to fix, and don't see a point in having more people until they've fixed the problem they already have... then let more in to find another problem.

To be fair, regardless of what you say, your usage of caps and gratuitous use of questions nobody can answer gives the impression that you're riled up about it, and upset that it's not going the way you want it to.
Even if he is riled up, so what ? People have a right to be pissed because we've been waiting for so long. If you don't like the thread, don't read it and don't respond to it. Simple as that.

You seem genuinely interested in why they are inviting so few people at the moment, but the fact that you address Blizzard directly in the title and the general tone of your post seems pretty angsty, people perceive it as just another person complaining that he didn't get a beta invite, since there are so many posts doing exactly that around.
Whatever, All I asked for was opinions, not answers to the 2 questions that I asked. If people want to perceive that ask complaining then I guess I am sorry, genuinely wasn't trying to come off that way.
Mods just lock this, or delete this, its going nowhere.

No they don't have the right to be pissed. So what that if you, him, or I have been waiting for Diablo 3 for a long time. So what if we have been waiting for news of the beta. Blizzard did not owe anyone the act of producing this video game. None of us are ENTITLED to shit regarding diablo 3.
Be patient and let them do their thing. Especially when they have already expressed their plans and their rationale on the official forums MULTIPLE times.
From what I can tell there haven't been (m)any invites from opt-in. I think that even though technically the closed beta has started, its still mainly F&F and press.
Also, the only sensible way to do a stress test is to ramp it up over time. If what you're testing is server stability, you're clearly not 100% confident in it, and as such you can't just immediately push it to its limits. So I'm sure the beta will grow over time, but never to something on the scale of the SC2 beta unfortunately.

Sometimes, something as simple as wording can make your thread or your posts cause the wrong impression on others. If instead of "What happend to the stress test Blizzard?" it was worded "How About the Stress Test focus of the beta?", some might not have overreacted.
Also, don't mind the whole freaking out, everyone here's suffering from the "beta fever" and one of the possible symptoms is overreacting
