I am having a lot of trouble to understand the mechanics of Diablo III.
Before the patch I tried many times actII and could make my way and kill Maghda, but could not progress more due to elites and no way to kite in small places, then I saw the news about nerf and decided to lvl up other chars. Could get a barb to 60 and a WD to 53.
I also tried to farm act1 before patch, but got like 1 million trash items, make some money spent with useless things like stash size, hell pony staff and other stuff. All I wanted was fun and thinking like Diablo2 that for me is a easy game to kill mobs and not that hard to find good items, that is the real fun for me, no matter if its easy or not.
Now after the patch I lost my hope again, not telling you that I gave up, but Im very frustrated.
I thought that after patch me and a monk friend (Im wizard) was going to be able to finally beat the ACTII and make some good items in ActIII and so on.
No, we were wrong, start of actII still a pain, we cant handle elites yet and were stucked again ...
So we got an Idea, with the aptch good items can now drop in ACTI so lets try and make some gear up ... So we went wrong again, we did the way 5Nephalems + warden/butcher runs... This is so SLOW no fun to walk around looking for shit dropped a single monk lvl63 item with 845 dmg with life on spirit spent, nothing else in the like 6 runs we made... You can say 'OMG 6 runs and your crying?' but you know that 6 runs of ActI warden/butcher are slower than 100 mephisto/andariel runs and for me it is not fun.
We can handle pretty well the ACTI, actII still a wall.
So I decided to get some more health and DPS for actII and spent my 300k on AH getting some items...
Geared up to 60k life, 15k DPs, 200 res all, 0% movement speed, 4k armor ... Well I do not have enough money for godlys and I really appreciate mf to get those...
No, this also did not helped me at all...
I just do not know what to d, or what to focus, what can help me alone instead of farming gold to buy in AH?
I know this is not diablo2, but was a lot easier to get a 3 topaz helmet and 3 diamond shield and teleport to andariel or mephisto and gear up ... that bosses replays were way better and more fun than those days in Diablo3...
I am tired of checking tutorials and tips on how to defeat Inferno and see the gear of ppl like 80k life, 50k dps, 1k res all and other stuff... what I say? with that gear I do not need a tutorial ¬¬
Now if there is a way, to gear up alone instead of wasting 5 hours in all act to find a lot of trash that will not help, or if there is any tips on what I can focus now it would be nice.
I will try to get some movement speed, but I do not know if it will help at all as elites in ACTII takes a whole life to die...
Really sorry for the rage, but cmon, is intended to be that hard? please give me some tips if you felt like me before growing up...
it would help if you posted you build..., because if you use only offensive skills, you,re doing it wrong, if you you pontless defensive abilities like Diamond Skin/Slow time, you're doing it wrong etc...
Regarding itemization, the other posts are pretty dead on. Last night after the nerf, I blew through Belial on my first try then did the first two quests in Act 3 (Light the Beacons / Raise the Catapults). The soul rippers in the keep are unfortunately still a huge pain despite a second nerf on them.
I have about 32k health (trying to drop that even more), 550+ All Resist, ~6600 Armor w/ Force Armor, and 35k DPS.
Regarding your build, Calamity and Mocking Demise are terrible. You're also not using any skills to boost your DPS (Glass Cannon, Force Weapon). Note that my resists / armor listed above are both after glass cannon's reduction.
i'd put Wormhole instead of calamity for Teleport and duplicates for mirror images 5 decoys is way better IMO, also I think Blizzard is better than Arcane Orb/Temporal flux for slowing ennemies and allwos you to choose another passive if you use blizzard+snowbound you won,t get AP problem thus a signature spell is useless, so you can change if for force weapon or anything else, also you could use Familiar/Ancient guardian for an absorb every 6 second once you're under 35% health, can save you...
