Build Guide
He tried GR103 here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Imvy40v7nYA but most likely quitted because RG was way too passive.
UPDATE 29/08/2017: GR108 cleared in Europe in Season 11.
1) Switched Frailty to Siphon Blood - Blood Sucker (to open doors and suck globes in LoTd)
2) Switched Devour to Bone Armor - Limited Immunity. Pop this before LotD when you are inside the pack near the elite. Then pop LoTD
Where damage comes from? Elites effectively suicide themselves over your minions, that's how. All "damage" in this setup is actually 100% reflected damage (monsters hit your minions and get 100% of minion's thorns back as a result). Minions have no thorns skills to attack so all damage is "passive". The more minions you have swarming around = the better. This is why you need Revives. They are a CROWD.
There's a couple of specific things that you need to know about this build which were hard to fit in the video:
It is very Elite and RG dependent build and after around GR100 it's very fishy. The type of Elite attacks and affixes greatly affect the "chance" to proc reflected damage off your minions. You need rifts full of FROZEN, ARCANES, FROZEN PULSES, JAILER and such. Huge AOE attacks, massive AOE slams.. This way your minions have higher chance to get hit and reflect damage back. Dumb physical brutes with no AOE attacks will take too long to kill, next to impossible sometimes. Illusionists with no extra affixes take FOREVER, so just skip them completely. Juggernaut Frozens can be killed. Same for RGs: RGs with massive AOE attacks can be killed in seconds, while passive dumb ones like Stonesinger can take infinite time.
Important info:
1) Get as much thorns as possible. Chest, belt and shoulders come first. Shield is very good to have too.
2) Get as much CDR as possible
3) Get as much Physical damage as possible, it scales Thorns directly.
4) Get as much essence as possible, max out in paragon + on weapon and shield.
5) When you see elites = press Land of the Dead and start spamming revives and consume globes to stay alive. Pray for Elites to actually perform some attacks or use affixes to hit as much minions as possible (aoe splash attack or DoT attack like Blighter, frozen pulse and frozen is great too). This will trigger reflected damage and they will die.
6) Passive RGs like Crusader King and dumb physical brutes like Stonesinger can be really annoying and terrible. Some RGs take a lot of time to kill, while some like Blighter and Agnidox die in seconds.
7) Completely avoid Illusionists and Juggernauts without additional affixes like Frozen. They take forever to kill.
8) Remove all STUN,FREEZE, BLIND, etc skills and gear from your follower! Monsters MUST attack your minions and not be stunned!
9) You CAN roll Revive on shoulders and chest if you really want to MAX damage (and can survive)
10) You can ROLL OFF damage range on your weapon, you don't need it for Thorns.
Useful passives & skills:
1) Extended Servitude is great to help your Revives last longer during LoTD and outside as well. You can try dropping either Blood for Blood or Life from Death for it.
2) Simulacrum - Reservoir is a very interesting choice instead of Frailty curse. If you can time it with LoTD than you can add a huge boost to Revive's damage. Life drain can be extreme though in this case.

Nice build but how do you open doors with this build? I had to quit (rage-quit) rift because I couldn't open the doors.
But holy f***, the damage is there!
If you can't blood rush then you have to quit. That's the shitty aspect of the build indeed.
The damage is there indeed
isn't Jesseth SkullScythe 400% damage increase better than (200% from Trag'ouls or 150% from Reilena's) and 20% physical damage?
I thought it was obvious but I'll be more explicit. My question was also impling that you pick the "Command skeletons" skill. This way you have 7 more minions and the 400% increased damage. Maybe I'm missing something, that's why I was asking. Cheers.
So even if the damage multiplier is bigger, having useless skeletons around is worse overall. I think that's what you're saying. Makes sense.
I'm trying this build out and I can't see how you trigger the 300% damage bonus from the Krysbin's sentence. Wouldn't it be better to use COE instead? Or maybe Ring of Royal Grandeur + Moribund Gauntlets?
you dont roll revive damage on your shoulders and chest? also can you roll off the damage range on the weapon?
Can indeed roll off damage range.
Nice build..Thank you Angry!
Thanks for the build Angry_Roleplayer! I was able to clear 84 on my 4th rift while learning the mechanics (went 70, 75, 80, 84) for my first test runs of the build. Considering I am a filthy casual and I had no augments, I only had Boyarsky at 50, and I only tried this style <5 times it says a lot about this build. I can only imagine how easy this will be as I get used to the style and get the gems up. I want to say that I've always been frustrated with the mechanics of a lot of the builds out there, but this one was just so easy and so much fun for me because it didn't require coordinating 10 different button pushes while watching CoE and using numlock.
Can you comment on the optimal follower gear? Since we don't want the usual stuns/freezes the normal setups I used to have don't apply.
It would be 15% against single target so it's pretty bad overall. While Reilena will give you a flat 160% against everything. I also heard Spear is bugged and does not increase Thorns of pets.
Very interesting build, been playing it with crap gear and no level with chip gem but I can see how it is gonna work. Seems nasty and fun to run. Gonna see if I have the mats to make a more thorny set now lol.
Why are you using Trag'Oul weapon? You are not using Grim Scythe at all. Hack would be better here no?
Nevermind, the weapon does damage against cursed enemies.
Ok the door thing is really killing my idea of using it now.. I would have to have each gr to have no doors on any floor to progress,
