The goal of this thread is to put the rapidly growing amount of news and rumors that are building up around Diablo 3 possibly being announced at the Blizzard Worldwide Invitational.

Last year Blizzard announced Starcraft 2, this year many rumours are floating around that a Diablo 3 announcement is going to take place.
It would make sense to use this event to announce what millions of fans have been waiting for.
Also, i would like to point out that June 29th is the Diablo 2 release date anniversary. What a perfect day to announce the next Diablo.

There is a large assortment of job postings for some "Top Secret" game. Many of the postings begin with this "The team behind Diablo I and II is looking for a". It's obvious that they are working on another game, and hopefully the team behind Diablo I and II are working on III lol.
New job postings as of 3/14 - 4/5 of the job listings that day were Diablo related. New Position - Lead 3D Level Designer The team behind Diablo I and II is looking for a skilled lead 3D level designer with experience building levels using Maya or other similar 3D level building tools. The ideal candidate has experience creating levels in a senior or lead role on a shipped game. We would also like for this candidate to have excellent analytical understanding of competitive online play with various Blizzard Entertainment games and mods (real-time strategy, World of Warcraft, Defense of the Ancients, etc.). The lead level designer needs to be able to create fun and interesting environments that look and play great while managing and mentoring a team of additional level designers. Actually, all the server busy messages where from the server being restarted and so on while we where trying to fix the problem. If I wasnt here today no one would even be able to connect to the site. :mad:
So the option of email notification if someone posts in a thread you have either participated in or created is whats making this error? If so, then all members should de-activiate that feature.
That is not what is causing the problem, but that feature may not work 100% now because I had to put some limits on the server.
You know all those great e-mails you get in your mail for watches, pills, drugs, poker, gambling and so on, well someone that is sending out millions of those are putting @blizzplanet e-mail address's in the return section, and im getting failure messages from thousands of servers sent to me.
I think i have the problem handled for now, but we will see.
Personally I am supprised it's lasted this long on what is essentially the computing power of a home desktop computer.
But who am I to speak?
Actually the problem is that an un-godly number of spam e-mails are being sent out with the return address being our server. At one point we had over 8 thousand e-mails in our queue.
Yes, it took awhile for some people's DNS info to change to the new stuff (those getting the board is down error for a long time) and that weird code was because the new server was using updated software and our forum software was old, its all good now.
If anyone finds any other problems relating to the site move, please tell me.
Yup, this site has a steady stream of new users. Most disappear due to the simple fact there is no Diablo 3 announced yet, but this site will continue to gain members at a fairly fast rate, and if the game does ever get announced, it will be total chaos here.
Hellllllo everyone, I have arrived at Blizzcon. I'm wearing a black and blue Blizz Entertainment T-Shirt and hat. I have a press pass but It may be hard to find me. Tomorrow I will set up a spot to meet up, but stayed tuned because there's more to come soon.
update:Wrath of the Lich King has already been confirmed as this was included in the BlizzCon goody bags. No word on Diablo 3 yet however, so keep your fingers crossed! -Mockery
Though I hate to say it, I don't think they would buy that many servers for Diablo 3, yet... that seems a bit overkill for a game that wont see open beta for probably a long peroid of time.
I'm not sure you can call them idiots since the game they did end up making broke every single sales record known to man lol. They have 5 million people playing, thats ilke 70 million a month.... they pretty much have the license to print money now.
