Perhaps this is just the effect of increased HP? Are goblins considered white mobs?

I feel like they just hit too fast, I'm totally fine with the dmg they deal.. as long as they're not attacking twice a second.

this goes for the elites too.. I feel it's just their attack speed.
    That could be it.

Act 1 seems a lot easier after the patch. Must be the damage and health changes on mobs.

Finnishing act 1 (killing butcher then going into the next room) and killing that last pack of mobs to complete the act now rewards something like 3800 gold again back up from the nerfed 800
I think the patch notes say that the first time you complete a quest in Inferno you'll get higher rewards.

Also I swear that banners look differently now. They have a brighter tinge than before.
Chat window now displays both the channel and your name in every message (f.e. [Party][MyNameIs] HaHa).

How can you spam them? It costs so much you can get 3-4 off max right? Unless you take whatever the rune that reduces cost, but then it doesn't do extra damage...
Prodigy + rune on the signature spell that grants AP on hit is how you do it. Throw in Arcane Dynamo and you'll unleash carnage. Didn't stick to it due to low damage pre-patch. I'll definitely try it out again now.

Another question, when using a meteor:
    1) slow 2 hander with high dmg and high crit dmg
    2) 1 hander + OH both with APOC

Any math savvy people can do some napkin math? While the bigger crits with 2 handers look really cool, the extra 20 APOC from wand + OH as well as extra 8%ish crit chance might actually come up with a higher overall output

    For using meteor:
    http://us.battle.net...en/item/maximus +25% fire skills dmg
    http://us.battle.net...n/item/magefist +20% fire skills dmg
(SoJ x2 = 12% fire skills damage, but that would be a trade-off for a lot of crit + crit dmg)

With this kind of a setup i think it might be quite possible to see 600+++k crits from meteors...
If you're going to use Meteor with a one-hander+source, Prodigy is mandatory. Along with a signature spell with a rune that grants AP on hit. If you don't want that kind of setup, two-handers are better. That is, unless you get a high crit chance, APoC gear and use a signature spell that nets a lot of procs.
Didn't do any real math on that, it's just what I could establish from my own experimenting with Meteor.

posted a message on Paragon Levels stupid?
    My prediction for the expansion:
    • 1-2 new classes.
    • 3-4 new skills for each existing class.
    • 1 new rune for each existing skill.
    • Enough new non-Paragon levels to accommodate the new skills and runes.
    • New affixes for elites.
    • New affixes for items.
    • One more Act.
    • New Legendaries.
    • iLvl 64 and iLvl 65 items that only drop in Inferno Act IV and the new Act.
    • Paragon and Nephalem Valor completely unaltered.
Given all that, I agree with what's already been stated: once the expansion hits you'll have to reach a new base level to continue gaining Paragon levels.

I can confirm that wallers are still very apt at creating culdesac (u-shaped) walls. Ran into a ton of waller/arcane/plagued/frozen mobs tonight. Made for some hilarious deaths.
Packs like that require strict discipline in terms of how you approach them. Rule of thumb is that you always keep at least one utility skill off of cooldown. Don't spam skills blindly when fighting wallers, jailers, vortex and teleporters.

posted a message on Do you want kamikaze critter elites rebalanced?
Definition: I call kamikaze critters any mobs that are designed to move in on you quickly and deal a hefty amount of damage unless you kill them fast, which is easy while they're white mobs because they have very little HP. Scavengers, bats and spiderlings are all kamikaze critters.

Normally I wouldn't care so much for this kind of thing, but after running into 3 such elite packs in a row... :boom: . It doesn't at all feel like a test of skill. More like a series of mandatory deaths, or a skip (which is even worse). Melee classes I play co-op with seem to struggle with them as well.

The logic should be simple. If it's designed to die in 1 hit as a white it shouldn't deal nearly as much damage when it gets the HP to survive as an elite. So I call for some additional rebalancing for when that specific breed of mobs rolls as an elite pack. Less damage, more health? Restrict some affixes? Slow them down? Anything would be nice.

Of course that's just my opinion. Lets hear yours.

Why would they tick every .5 sec if it states "25% for 3 seconds"? Doesn't that imply every second it's 25%?
Sorry, I already edited my post. It is indeed 25% every sec for 3 secs but dots actually do their damage much smoother if you watch the health bar and the floating damage done numbers are displayed every 0.5 secs.
This confusion is in fact the main reason they made the change. Now it simply does not matter to the reader how the damage is distributed. It's the end result that counts.
