If I may step back from the QQ/fanboi wars for a second... the jury has come in.
Diablo III lasted five weeks as #1 on the amazon charts, only to get replaced by.... wait for it....
Dragon Age?!?
If the idea was to drive people back to WoW, where they paid their sub like good shee... err... panda.... Mission Accomplished!
You realize it's based on volume of sales, right?
How long did you expect a single item to remain at #1 for, exactly?
Stepped right away from QQ/Fanboi warfare into logical/insane wars.
Obligatory edit: It even says right at the top of the page "Our most popular products based on sales. Updated hourly." That should clue you in as to how their "ranking" is based and why it's completely irrelevant, at all.
I think they going to do something very similar to this. They said they had a blog coming up about magic find and gold find. I wouldn't be surprised at all if NV started at level 1 and essentially replaced MF/GF and built % without limit at a slower clip. This could, of course, easily be scaled to your level. At level 1; each stack of NV is 1% MF, at level 60, it's 10-15% per stack.
I'd definitely go for it, personally.
You could also change NV slightly too. In normal, swapping skills = no NV penalty. Nightmare = losing X stacks. Hell = losing more stacks. Inferno = losing all stacks.
Heh... I think it's VERY unlikely that they'll increase the max stacks for NV. When they first announced it, they said they were thinking between 2-5 stacks because they didn't want to force people to have to play for hours on end to be efficient. I think even at 5 stacks, they're nearing that dangerous mark.
For the most part, I only have time to play over lunch these days so I'm pretty much the target they have for playing time. 1 hour is enough time to stack up to 5 stacks and do a bit of decent farming but it hardly feels efficient. Anything higher would be even worse and would require even more time.
Honestly, with the new changes to rare packs with 5 stack NV, I wish they'd reduce the max NV amount to 3. It's just not possible to do quick 30 minute runs now.
this just reminds me of what I don't like about this game. My farming sessions aren't aimed at finding gear for myself. Theyre for finding items that can sell so I can BUY the gear I need. Is this how the other diablo's were?
I really liked his 'ladder' ideas. I would like more than one follower. They behave just like my pets in inferno. One shot distractions. The more the merrier!
While I understand what you are saying, that isn't to say the class isn't without it's issues. It wasn't until I equipped a couple mana regen items I could feel like a heavy hitter rom mana starvation. Its like this class has no in between for mana. Its either you go oom/use VQ or have too much of it.
