I post these up on trade chat for 50k or less and if no one buys I salvage them.
Imo This is not worth 500k at 700DPS; if it was 800-900 with higher int maybe.

Is anyone still playing this by any chance? I didn't remember the sheer amount of skills available, not only that, you can play as a multiple class character. Right now, I have a ranger/storm hybrid with a bow as a primary.

I remember playing through this game once a couple of years ago, but I was a straight warrior. I'm curious to see how everything goes this time around, I don't remember much about the different acts and areas.

Are you looking for community approval? I can tell you that no one cares.

Oh btw, DrStrong, Titan Quest is not on Gamespot’s Top 10 list anymore either OMG! (referencing your other meaningless post)

I’m just curious how long it will take before you come back to Diablo.

In D2 there was leveling and better geared helped you reach the almost impossible 99.
D3 has no leveling (1-60 in 10hours?) therefore gear is useless and the game is boring. There you have the difference between D2 and D3.

    Just a quick FYI

Diablo 2 did not ship with level 99. That was added in with the expansion LoD. I can almost guarantee that the next Diablo 3 expansion will increase the level cap.

What you are doing is like comparing a turkey that had a full days time to be prepared, seasoned, and slow baked to a turkey that pretty much just came out of the package still frozen. Of course the first one is better; it has been properly prepared and is a finished product.

Not valid, but thanks for your skewed opinion.

Who is this aimed at? Not me, I'm certain, if so, you didn't read my OP.

I didn't need to play through the game 3 times to realize what I was doing was boring and dull. If Act 1 was different each time I played, then yea I might want to play it again.

You honestly made me laugh out loud.

So let me get this straight… Games you “think” have high replay value should have multiple Acts (chapter, levels, etc) and the game should remember, “OK DrStrong played this Act before so let’s give him a completely different level and story and character this time. Hmm Let’s set it in the future this time with robots and light sabres.”
YOU HONESTLY THINK that a game should be completely different every play through or else it’s not worth your money? Can you name a game for me, from the same or similar ganre that was designed not only to have completely different levels and endings but also give a completely different story every play through?

Not only are you new to Diablo, you are probably new to games in general. That’s like asking why the first level of Mario Bros is always the same and predictable. It’s like asking why do I have to read the same dialogue every time I play Final Fantasy 7. It’s like asking why you have to shoot and save the exact same people on Modern Warfare each time you play the game again. It’s a naïve request and it shows how ignorant you are. There really is no way of having a conversation with someone who demands ridiculous things like that.

it's a fact that companies hire people to post positive things on forums. sony and bioware were both caught doing it. and what about all the paid off game reviews on sites?

Nope, I don’t work for blizzard nor have I been paid to post what I post.

I just think that Diablo 3 is a great game, why do I have to work at blizzard or be paid by a third party to praise something? If you bought a car and you liked it, you would tell your friends and family right? Why would the car manufacturer or dealership need to pay you to do that?

Also, I take time out of my day to post what I do because I want to vocalize what I think about the game and give my opinions on it and the fan base. I just think that the forums are just filled with hate and negativity towards the game. Maybe it’s the new generation of gamers – maybe something else. I don’t really know. I just wanted to show that not everyone hates this game, and hopefully add some thoughts and opinions to help other gamers in a bind and wanting to “quit”.

posted a message on Is magic find even worth it.
Quality (or roll) of the affixes on a specific item is purely luck. MF will not increase the quality of the affixes. MF increases the amount of rares you will find (blue and yellow).
    For example
Act1 has a 2% chance to drop ilvl63 gear. Having 100% find means you will actually end up with 4% chance of finding ilvl63. If you can somehow manage to bring your MF to 300% you will end up with 6% chance to find ilvl63.
The biggest thing you will notice is that when you throw on MF, you will notice that you get more yellows drop. I can consistently get 3 yellows to drop from a pack upon 5 stacks of valor plus switching my MF gear on just before the killing blow to an elite. “Why would you need to do that?” Well, this goes back to the first point about luck. If I can consistently get one extra rare per pack that would theoretically cut the time to find “that godly item” by 30%. Of course, rolls still always comes down to luck but at least you get more ilvl62+ to roll.

You can’t be number one forever anyway, so I really don’t see a big deal.
As for replay value, did you beat the game on normal and then quit? If so then yes you didn’t get your money’s worth. Did you play all the way to inferno (with or without beating inferno)? Then I would like to point out that you (re)played Diablo 3 at least 3 times (if you only have one character), and you spent at least 100 hours on your first character (unless you exploited and/or paid real money for goods and services). ANY game that can give you that much game is worth $60.

Now that you’ve spent 100+ hours maxing out your first character you said you don’t know the reason for additional farming? Well let me list some things off the top of my head in response to this rather asinine remark/question.
    1. First and foremost, we can all conclude from this remark that Diablo 3 is the first game of the Diablo series you played. Not that this is your fault, you merely jumped on the band wagon not really knowing what type of game this is.
    2. You farm to get gear for 5 more potential characters you can create. I find that the sheer diversity of hundreds of deferent builds each class potentially has to be very enjoyable. It seems like you are playing the game for the first time every time you change up a build and/or re-gear.
    3. You farm for the PVP coming in the near future.
    4. You farm to sell gear to save gold to buy even better items that you have now because you don’t have “best in slot” for every piece of equipment you have – I can guarantee that.
I have 2 characters, Barbarian and Demon Hunter (main), with a combined total of over 150 hours of game play and I am still farming for the perfect gear for my main. I haven’t even touched on the other 3 classes yet either. So, if you rushed all the way to the end of the game, good for you. That isn’t what Diablo is all about.

“After beating Diablo 3 inferno what is there left to do?” Well, I don’t know. What do you do when you “beat” ANY OTHER game? You play it again or you move on to the next. Good riddance, see you around.

On the contrary, 1.0.3b will not be touching drop rates from Act1 and Act2, so I think he is fine farming what he is doing. I wouldn’t throw on gold find unless I went to Hell Act 3 and 4 because You would actually get a quicker return there since you can blast everything into oblivion so much easier.

To give you a second opinion on gearing, after the patch (1.0.3) I went with a tanky DH build. Instead of stacking everything on one attribute (aka DEX), I actually shopped for gear that has a good amount of DEX, VIT and resist all too. I completely changed my skills (Smoke screen to Shadow power) and I can tank in Act1 and hold my own in Act2. I just couldn’t run glass canon anymore because of the repair bills.

I also farm with 4 extra pieces that add magic find (+18% each). I swap them on for the last hit on packs. I find that when I do this I consistently get 3 rare items after 5 stacks, most of the time 1 to 2 rares before I hit 5 stacks of valor. Also another thing, I just started farming act 2 yesterday after finding upgrades on 2 of my gears. I would have to say that in my opinion, act2 is just a tab bit better than act1. In comparison from my experience I usually end up with 1 ilvl63 item when I spend 1 ½ hours in act1. With the same amount of time I spend in act2 I get 2 to 3 ilvl63 items (almost double ilvl62 as well). I don’t do whimsyshire because I don’t find it profitable at the moment. If you factor in repair and time spent while clearing whimsy, you actually lose money. I will return to whimsy once I get a weapon that has 1200+ DPS.

In act 2 I run (spelling?)
Dagur Oasis (elite placement really random)
Road to Alcarnus (clear out and check dungeons in the encampment)
As stated by another poster, you can also kill Mahgda
Khasim outpost (head a bit south)
    Goblin at ancient path

    Hope this helps

I've made the best experiences with a real face tank build, like this.
Gas Grenades and Jagged Spikes are pretty essential for this play style, as they proc LoH on every hit/tick they do.
I'm running with a shield and a 1H crossbow, so this is a rather low DPS build (around 13k), but it gets the job done, and is so much more entertaining than shooting, running away, shooting, running away, shooting...

What a lot of DH’s don’t realize is DHs actually have a lot of diversity. You are right, there is so much more to Demon hunters than just run, shoot, die, start all over.

I like your build, looks interesting. I might give it a try. The only problem I see is having a potential to run out of discipline very easily with sentry and caltrops (since you most likely deploy more than on caltrop). I guess if you have +10 discipline on both your 1 hander, off hand, and chest it would offset the problem a bit. I used to run with caltrops in my build but switched off to chakram to save discipline for shadow power.

I have yet to try 1 hand and shield build – no monies at the moment. Looks like 1 hand with shield is VERY viable on a tanky DH.

The funny thing is, I was actually investing into more tankish items on my way out, and now not only does my demon hit like a sissy, she still dies almost as quickly as she used to anyways. Random normal white mobs hit me for 60k damage when I have two sources of over 50% DR, a solid 15 thousand more than I have life.

You should check out my tanky build that I posted on the DH forums. I dont have expensive gear at all, but I still manage to tank packs in act 1 and some in act 2 (little more kiting in 2). If something isn't working out, change your build - maybe it's not your gear.

posted a message on Players quitting after 1.0.3
1.0.3 hit me just like most of the community. I didnt like it very much because it had more nerfs than buffs (I think i can count the number of buffs on one hand). Of course, when you make changes there are always cry babys talking about quitting because things aren't going the way they planned. If quitting is your ultimatum then there is no stopping you, but I implore you gamers to try something new. Stop being so stubborn.

Diablo was never about 1 class/build fits all. Diablo was never about stacking a single attribute or looking for that "end game" item where everyone will eventually be wearing the exact same thing. Diablo has always been a reap-what-you-sow game and ultimately it all comes down to either time or luck. 1.0.3 balanced the game. That's right, no more belial power leveling, goblin hunting, botting, and stacking. "When life gives you lemons, make lemonade!" If it wasn't for this patch, I would still be running a glass cannon DH with 12k HP, stacking everything into DEX and Atack Speed. If I were stubborn I would have probably quit as well, but we are humans. Humans learn to adapt to challenges, work around obsticles. If we didn't have that in our genes we would have died along with the dinosaurs.

Fellow gamers, open your eyes throw away your stubborness. Stop stacking attack speed (ridiculously over priced) and single attributes. This is not a one build game, play around with the thousands of possible combination of builds and gears available. Read the class forums and try out other peoples suggestions. ADAPT. Find your own builds to post! THIS is the fun that Diablo was designed upon.

I for one, am no longer "kiting" packs with the fear that even a droplet of elite sweat could kill my frail glass canon DH. Instead, I can now stand and tank them. Now there are much more possibilities to try.

    Have fun

posted a message on Kripp tips @Blizzard
So let me get this straight...

Because spending 120+ hours beating the game (if you beat the game faster than this on your first character you either exploited the crap out of this game or was fed/bought items like crazy) is not considered a good value, you want blizzard to design Diablo 3 to have perpetual end-game content?

I didn't watch the video, but all of these posts seem to say that Diablo 3 doesnt have enough endgame play? The amount people who have completed inferno is very small. Blizzard will most likely time the expansion to come out when most of the gamers finish inferno, and I've never seen a game put an expansion out 2-3 months after the release. That is just crazy. The soonest would be 6 months after release. I dont remember when LoD cam out for D2, but I can bet it wasnt 2-3 months after the expansion.

The problem here is the emerging generation of gamers are hand-out gamers. Frankly, there is no pleasing this group because each individual hand-out games demands changes as if they themselves were the sole gaming population. They want instant satifaction and then they want it over and over again. They want content they experience from the last game they played even if its a comletely different genre. There is no end to their demands.

If you bought Diablo 3, rushed all the way to the end and beat diablo on inferno mode then complain about there being nothing left to enjoy. YOU DIDN'T PLAY DIABLO 2. You are missing the point of this game. Farming for gear with friends or on your own. Trading and/or saving up gold to buy that one best in slot item to push you on to the next act. Finding the builds that make the same class seem like a comletely different class and sharing with others. Spending hours perfecting that farm route so its more efficient. That's the heard to the Diablo franchise. If you rush Diablo to the end using cheats/exploits bought gear, good for you. I suggest you move along to the next game coming out.

BTW. They cap you at lv60 because the expansion will open it further. It is the same with every other MMO (even wow) It's business, get used to it.
