Had a go at a quick Wizard build, its a Glass Cannon build which focuses on damage and I think will be a lot of fun but has very little survivability.
I wouldn't think it would work solo at harder difficultes but I was thinking for more in Co-op mode where you will have yourself and 3 team mates.

lvl 4 WW rune COSTS no fury. 0, zero. As it is right now. We can only make builds on what WE know, and making good assumptions about what we dont.

So we know WW golden rune makes it cost 0 fury, Blizzard already stated 5-6-7 are the 0.0001%'ish drops (the higher you go, the lower the drop)

5-6-7 runes will make any skill fucking OP, thats why they are so hard to get? thats the whole point on getting them? They make your shit game breaking, and allow you to farm the shit out of inferno. So why you're assuming WW rune is wrong is beyond me?

I assume its going to make 5-6-7 generate fury. That would be the logical string to follow?

your build works fine on the barb if WW golden rune is going to behave the way it does CURRENTLY, and if it scales how i ASSUME it's going to scale you will be fine. The only problem I have with your build is why hammer of the ancients? It makes no sense?

If WW costs no fury, and will generate fury, why not just WW your way to victory? why even use hammer? Pick something else!

Also if WW works how it currently works, and with your build, the only thing you use fury on is wotb so change your rune in War cry.
Infact warcry golden rune is actually complete shit in comparison to what the other rune effects give you. 12 extra fury gained on a 30 second CD? That is 100% shit. 50% resistance is NOT shit, 16% dodge is NOT shit, Armour increase by 200% is NOT shit. increase life by 16% and 890 life per second is NOT shit. 12 extra fury gained on a 30 second CD is. Pick a better rune.
    Quote from Mac_an_tSaoir

I would replace hammer with Ignore pain, or Overpower.

You have a lot of extra crit in your build? Why not take Overpower over hammer? Especially since you close the distance with leap and WW. Lets look at what over power would give you, besides its normal effect.

    30% dmg reflection to melee
16% crit for the next 4.5 seconds
    Fury generation of 4
Storm of steel looks like shit at rank 4 so not going to bother
or heal 8% of your max life for every enemy hit.

Hi thanks for the feedback. After reading what you said you're right about hammer. Overpower would add more and Ignore pain will be nice for Inferno mode. However I was thinking revenge would maybe be nice? If it can proc and I can use it while im using WW?

I was gonna say the same thing about the barb build. Playing through the beta, fury is something one has to always be vigilant about. I've found so far that bash, cleave, or frenzy are backbone talents that almost every barb will have just because they're so well balanced between damage output and fury generation.

Each has it's own feel, cleave is nice if you are fighting clusters of enemies often but it sucks against boss mobs. Bash is great vs boss mobs, but not so good at dealing with groups, then frenzy is a weird middle where you're just single-targetting stuff down, but it goes down pretty fast, but it sucks when you lose your frenzy charges.

So far the best combos i've come up with just in terms of adapability to almost any situation is Bash, Rend, Hammer of Ancients, and Leap attack. Bash hits so hard that you still take out groups pretty fast, but most importantly, bash generates fury fast. Usually i'll "bash, bash, bash" then have enough for a rend, then a hammer of an ancients, and it's like a nuclear bomb went off. Granted these are all level 13 and lower spells, so im sure there's better combos out there, but as far as beta is concerned, that combo works great for me.

Point being though, i'd grab one of those three skills mentioned to have a solid fury generation skill. Bash, Cleave, or Frenzy.

I thought rage might of been a problem, so after what you've said ive taken Bash with "Instigation" so its 10 rage per attack.
Since I only have 1 shout now I removed that passive and have taken "Animosity".

Dh build has fundementals for no reason, you already have entangling shot which generates double the hatred and can hit 2 targets and slow them. so you wouldnt/shouldnt use your basic attack with this build.

I see, since "Entangling Shot" will be my main ability ive taken "Cull the Weak" passive instead.

Hi there. After the success I got by posting some ideas on a Witch Doctor build and the improvements others helped me made I figured it would be a good idea just to make 1 thread instead of posting in every class sub-forum.

I know that the game is still in beta and everything can change and skills that haven't been tested can work diffrently in-game than on paper. However its still intresting and quite fun spending a few mins on the talent calculators attempting to make some builds to test out when D3 eventually gets here.

    Barbarian: http://us.battle.net...YZkP!ZcS!cbZYbZ
    Follower: http://us.battle.net...lower#0101!0010 (Scoundrel)
    - Not sure if I will generate enough Rage?

    Demon Hunter: http://us.battle.net...PSTQ!Sdh!bZYcbY
    Follower: http://us.battle.net...lower#0101!0010 (Templar)
    - On the Demon Hunter build I am worried about not generating enough Hatred, so I took x2 Hatred Generator skills. I would of took "Strafe" with "Rocket Storm" runestone if it was viable.

    Witch Doctor: http://us.battle.net...VcYb!ZXe!bbYZZa
    Follower: http://us.battle.net...lower#0101!0010 (Templar)
    - Already talked about, I did decide to take "Leeching Beasts" on my "Zombie Dogs" but decided to keep "Blood Ritual".

So anyone got any pointers for any of my builds or feel like posting there ideas? :)

posted a message on Idea for new DH passive skill
    Quote from Morrigan

I've came up with this idea of a new passive skill for the demon hunter:

Beast handler: " Unlock additional abilities for your companions."

Raven: Will periodically peck the eyes of your enemies, blinding them for 2 secs.
Spider: its attacks have a chance to inject a paralyzing venom on the victim, rooting them in place for 2 secs.
Ferrets: They periodically jump to your enemies, reducing their attack speed by %30 for 2 secs.
Boar: Its tusks gore your enemies, causing them to bleed for X weapon damage over 2 secs..
Bat: Periodically lets out a terrifying screech, fearing the enemies for 2 secs.
Wolf: Its ferocious presence encourages you, increasing your damage by %10 and attack speed by 5%.

The idea is to make the companions have more flavor and presence in the battlefield, giving the DH more of a ranger feeling.

The percentages and durations can, of course, be modified for balancing reasons.

Those are slighty unbalanced I think, who wouldn't run with a wolf? lol.

That makes a lot of sense, I'm not sure about how cooldowns would be at release but I don't think I'll use the acid cloud in addition to firebats, or at least not with the crimson rune. I agree with removing confusion, because now that I think about it it would make AOE harder to aim, versus having them try to gang up on me.. :)

I'm gonna tinker around with the calc a bit more, I can have more slow AOE with the zombie wall, and maybe change the passives. If the slowing effect won't stack, then I'll shift focus to damage AOE. XD Now I'm actually giving blood ritual more thought as well.

Came up with anything yet? :)

its a fire and forgot, low cost hi range skill which you can use for resources management or crowd control.
Also with an Alabaster rune the damage is not so bad, either.
And sinergies with passives could help setting up nice builds.

    My thoughts aswell.

I honestly like your setup, although I would personally avoid blood ritual, or change some of your runes to ones that will give lifesteal.

I'm also planning on making a WD, and was thinking of using more slow/area effect skills. I don't like using summons so I'm planning on this:

    http://us.battle.net...jgYU!eZS!YacacZ

is there any info about how slow would stack?

If your taking "Grave Injustice" passive and "Grasp of the Dead" your wanting stuff to die together and near you so I would be taking more AoE.

Maybe something like below. Just something I quickly made, sure there are improvements.

    Thanks for the reply.

After taking a 2nd look, I figured I might aswell make more use of the passive "Vermin" and take Corpse Spiders aswell.
I also read Grasp of Dead is very good, however that 1 skill slot is up for grabs if anyone thinks there is something better??

liek the other guy said, get rid of blood ritual. and change that golden rune on the dogs. so just http://eu.battle.net...cYWb!ZWe!bYZZba and your good. :)

I see your thinking, and I think you could be right about the rune in my "Zombie Dogs".
However I really like the look of "Blood Ritual", it removes a little of the "Pierce the Viel" negative effect.
If I find im not gaining enough health and have no mana problems I can just change one of the mana runes into health. Remember I have 16% of Haunt damage as health regen, 2% health regen passive from "Blood Ritual", also the "Templar" follower gives a heal on a 15 second cooldown and 365 life per second.
I could take "Leeching Beasts" in my "Zombie Dogs" for further health regen which might end up better than the health globes.

Thanks for the feedback via this thread and pm's! :)

mass confusion has WAY too high of a CD. even if it is a "oh sh*t" button it still is too long for a fast paced game like diablo to be that useful, either golden rune it or get horrify if you need a CC.

your dogs also have a 1 min CD so if they are dying constantly making them have a 55% chance to drop a HG is pretty much pointless. you want them to last as long as possible so get the passive to give you 4 and 60% extra life. and rune them to heal themselves and you so they can be constant meat shields.

    so something like this: http://eu.battle.net...cegb!ZWe!bYZbba

horrify gives you mana per enemy and you can do it 3x as much as confusion. your dogs will heal yourself and you and you'll have 4 of em. just some minor tweaks id do

Well since I seen everyone else getting some opinions back on there builds I figured it would be good to get some on mine.

I was fighting between Wizard & Witch Doctor as my first character but have decided to go with the Witch Doctor.
Its my first shot but i've gone for a build that gives me little down time. Atleast in theory.
    All feedback is welcome, cheers.

posted a message on Death in Hardcore
Firstly I would like to say hello to everyone, longtime reader/lurker turned firstime poster.

I was wondering if anyone knows what happens when you die in hardcore?

You have but one life eager hero. If you should die, though your deeds be remembered, you shall not return again. Customer Service will not revive a fallen Hardcore Hero for any reason.

From this quote I assume when you die thats the character finished and you have to start from scratch again? Do you get any of the items that are held on the charcter or in its stashes back?

    Cheers in advance.
