To be honest i can't help but think these recent nerfs to the barb were targetted to my tank barb build from the beta build contest.. (i won a key btw!! Yay!!!) They also nerfed threatening shout (Now GIVES 15 rage, but now has a 15 second cooldown so isnt spammable for taunt rune T_T) the build also included revenge and overpower :/
The Barbarian will build Tanky, Using a 1 hand and shield to optimize defense and health, with some Thorns effect gear as well.
Frenzy is used as a form of self healing for last hitting enemies with the TRIUMPH rune effect. (Killing an enemy with frenzy heals you for 12% of your maximum life over 6 seconds.)
**ESSENTIAL TO BUILD** Threatening Shout is the rage spender, It reduces incoming enemy damage by 25%, And with the Demoralize rune, it TAUNTS all enemies affected within the 25 yard range for 3 seconds. This skill has a 15 second duration, costing 20 rage. This is the Tank Barbs best friend for keeping your allies alive and doing your job. The TAUNT rune effect is essential for Revenge. (See Revenge bullet)
Overpower is another form of self healing apart from Frenzy. In this build, Overpower would be used afterRevenge procs to utilize the critical strike chance. The Iron Impact rune provides a 7% heal of your MAXIMUM life for each enemy hit.
**ESSENTIAL TO BUILD** Revenge is the key to this build with Threatening Shout. Revenge has a 15% chance to become active each time you are hit. It causes 220% weapon damage to all nearby enemies. You also heal 5.0% of your Maximum life for each enemy hit.The Best Served Cold rune also provides a 10% chance to crit for 12 second. The rune could be swapped out for either Provocation (Increased chance to activate by 30%) orVengeance is Mine (Increased Fury and Life gained by 5 fury, and 7.5% Life) I chose Best Served Cold to increase the proc chance on Overpower, but upon live testing this could be changed)
Leap Attack is pretty self explanatory, this is the engage and armor buff skill for the build. Iron Impact provides300% armor upon landing for 4 seconds. With the low cooldown and rage generator, this is great for keeping up your defenses.
Ancient Spear is used as both an engage for certain enemies, and to keep enemies off of your allies between the times the taunt from Threatening Shout isn't active. The Harpoon rune pierces through enemies and pulls them to you just in case you are surrounded and need to get an enemy that's being blocked by another enemy. Low cooldown rage generator.
(PASSIVES) Ruthlessness can be switched out for Superstition (Reduces all non-phsical damage by 20%. Whenever you take damage from a ranged or elemental attack you have a chance to gain 3 fury) Which I will most likely do in my final build.
(PASSIVES) Tough as Nails paired with the monks Mantra of Retribution and thorns gear provides a stalwart defense that also returns damage to enemies.
(PASSIVES) Relentless, While below 20% life, all skills cost no fury and all damage taken is reduced by 50%. Self explanatory for Tank barb.

The main character is obsessed with killing his brother-like friend that betrayed him, raped his woman, killed all his friends that were like a family by sacrificing them to demons so he could be reborn, and branded him with a mark where he is constantly hunted by demons and whenever a powerful demon is near the mark throbs with a horrendous pain. So, instead of "Blank, Blank everywhere" it's I AM GOING TO FUCKING KILL YOU cuz its guts and griffith.
also, why would they add "Just a chain" to a diablo 3 wallpaper featuring diablo menacingly staring at it? Seems too obvious there is some significance to this "holy chain".
Apart from what was already said, basically your local game store, mostly popular, will have midnight release parties where you can pickup your game midnight, sometimes even with extras like signatures/wallpapers etc. I can't wait to wait in line to pick up my D3 collectors ediiton! It will indeed kick ass.
I'm pretty sure most BestBuy and Gamestop stores will have have midnight parties.

I don't think the barb stops to idly chat with the demon hunter about how silly the witch doctors accent is in the middle of fighting thousands of hellborne spawn, no, hes screaming in their face while bashing theirs in! That's all that matters!

and to hear the lamentation of their (demon-)women!
I think that's more of a handicap to new players then anything. If I was a new player I would want to experience all things myself and learn along the way, Being restricted only "Dumbs down" the game for new players. If they are given a broader spectrum to choose from with using only the separated skill archetypes "Main Secondary Defensive blah blah" as only a guide, I think it would be much more advantageous. New players aren't going to know how to go to Elective Mode. And if they did, then why even have it?
If anything, Elective Mode should be a "Check, Uncheck" box on the actual skill pane rather then in options.
Yes yes i know this is all still in beta/being worked on/tweaked etc etc...
But without this much needed feedback.. y'know?

The main reason I ask this is because, I was recently messaged about the contest thing from another member that claimed "X"s build wouldn't work due to the current skill system restricting broad choices. This to me means blizzard is giving the impression to people that skills are going to be "pre-designated" regardless of player choice.

Hell yeah man! Saw the first 10 minutes, I'm a bit mixed feelings about it but its fuckin berserk, gotta love it no matter how bad the CGI is.
