You stopped getting new (or useable) skills around 30 though in D2. Even with synergies, I was putting one point into prereqs and dumping everything into the skills of that tree. There would be a light dusting of points in other trees (depending on the build, of course) but effectively, my character would have his entire arsenal by 30. The build might not be done until 80, but the play style wasn't any different, just that the spells were more effective.
Which sounds identical this D3. Only, they chose to customization in a different area, and I don't have to put pointless skill points into things I will never use. (Necro Teeth)

Jan 7, 2012Britward posted a message on Runed Grenades, SK Rating, Class Balance, Level Expansion, Followers, Blue PostsAs I recall, you were pretty well done with skills in the 30-40 range in Diablo II. After, you were simply making the skill better by adding points, but you basically had your entire arsenal.Posted in: News
It feels like people didn't even play Diablo II. -
Jan 5, 2012Britward posted a message on Diablo's Anniversary, South Korea Rating, Lashing Tail Kick RunedYeah, especially since it doesn't really fit into anything that actually happened in Diablo II. I just had this inkling of memory and was convinced I was not crazy. (Well, not crazy because of this.)Posted in: News

No that happened, but last I heard that video is considered non-canon and irrelevant to the storyline.

Jan 4, 2012Britward posted a message on Diablo's Anniversary, South Korea Rating, Lashing Tail Kick RunedDoes anyone remember, well before Diablo II's release as it was still in production, a cinematic of the Wanderer in a carriage driving through the rain, and he was in some long soliloquy about the Hells and traveling to the far east for his salvation, and the teaser ends on a shot of the Wanderer's lips being sewn shut and then the soul stone lying in the mud in the rain?Posted in: News
I'm not making this up, right?
I feel like it was out when they were still tossing around the idea that the character you'd play in Diablo II was going to be the guy with the soul stone in his/her head. -

Just watched the retrospective and now I am screaming, "I can haz game now?" Seeing a few frames from other cinematics including Imperius and female-looking Diablo makes me want to go to California and bang on Blizzard's front door for the game.
Imperius is what really did it for me. Looked pretty amazing. -

I understand why people would be disappointed by this, but I think that has more to do with having unreasonable expectations for something that was only described as "fun" thing they were going to do. This seems to fit the definition pretty well.Posted in: News
And I rather enjoyed the video. It was just another thing that makes me wish I were playing this game right this minute. - To post a comment, please login or register a new account.
