    http://us.battle.net...opic/5978788918

Since HC trading forums are basically dead on this site I decided to post this here if that's alright.

Currently looking to trade my Softcore gold for Hardcore gold. Currently have about 90 mill SC Gold but not looking to trade all of it since I actively play both SC and HC. However, I'm willing to spend a good sum if the ratio can go any lower then 3:1 (the lower the ratio of gold, the higher I'm willing to spend). You must be willing to trade first and I'm willing to do as many small transactions as possible if needed.

Please post your battletag in ethier this thread or the bnet one and I'll get to you as soon as I can as well as answer any questions or concerns you may have, thanks!

    Currently looking for 3:1 trades.

Have vouchers stating safe legit transactions throughout the bnet thread I linked.

    1. The Sabertooth board looks cool, but the "thermal armor" is completely non-functional. ASUS even provides an extra 40mm fan to blow air through it since it contains the motherboard's own heat. My recommendation is to avoid this one.

    2. The main difference between the i7 (3770k) and i5 (3570k) is hyper-threading. It gets you 10-20% more speed for well-threaded applications (think non-realtime video encoders, database systems, 3d rendering). You mentioned twitch.tv, but I'm not sure how much it would benefit from the extra threads. That said, you seem to have an unlimited budget for this thing so I'd get the i7 anyway :)

    3. SSD performance is especailly sensitive to the SATA mode set in the BIOS. They're fastest in "AHCI" mode. Your builder should do this for you, though, and it's the default on most modern motherboards. So there probably isn't anything for you to set up. SSDs give you that cached-in-memory responsiveness at all times, but don't help games all that much since disk access represents a relatively small amount of the time they spend. But they make your computer feel fast, especially compared to one that doesn't have an SSD.

    4. 850 watts is overkill. This system will probably draw less than 400 watts fully loaded. Both the Ivy Bridge CPU and GTX 6xx series are extremely power efficient. If you're only getting one video card, I recommend dropping to a lower wattage 80Plus Silver/Gold/Platinum power supply to save electricity and reduce heat output.

    5. Thermaltake is a well known brand; I'm confident it will work well for you. Most aftermarket coolers do a great job of taming Intel's chips these days, to be honest. Regarding the HDD, Seagate has been in the industry for decades, and they're either #1 or #2 in global sales right now, so I'm suprised you haven't heard of them.

All the parts you have on your list are top quality, so I'm sure whatever boutique you go to will give you a solid product. I'd still build it myself for half the price, though :)

Thanks, however I was able to switch to the Sabertooth before I read your post and it came out 100 dollars cheaper then my current which allowed me to double my RAM and still come out with a less total, should i still completely avoid Sabertooth? From what I've read on other sites all Z77 motherboards are good and Sabertooth is in line with the rest. I figured I'd save 100 and get a cheaper yet still good motherboard, let me know what you think.

posted a message on 4+ Year Computer, looking into buying a new one.
Hey guys, I made a thread about a month ago on getting a new computer but decided to hold off until the new processors came out. I'm still a noob when it comes to computers but I feel like I've improved a bit on the basics. I plan on using this computer to play games such as WoW, Tera, GW2, D3 as well as any future mmo's down the road, hoping to play these game on max settings with 60+FPS as well as being able to stream via Twitch.tv without any fps issues.

I do not plan on building my own and plan on purchasing it from ethier AVAdirect OR ElifePC (wont know until thursday on ElifePC since thats when there adding Z77 boards and the new processors to there list). I know building your own saves alot of money and purchasing a prebuilt one cost more ect... but I'm just not interested in getting into that at the moment.

The current price for this spec is $2251.00 including shipping (not counting tax yet) on AVAdirect so thats what my range is around, tell me what you guys think about the following spec and I'm open to suggestions, thanks.

    Some Noob Questions

    1. I would like to get a Sabertooth motherboard as from what I've heard thats one of the best Z77 boards out there atm, although every Z77 is good from what I hear. I plan to ask them if they plan on adding one to the customization list but if the current board thats listed is good enough then I wont bother, let me know!

    2. Does the same apply to the new IB processors as in the 3770k isn't a performance upgrade and I should just go with the 3750k, just like how people suggest 2500k over 2700k Sandybridge for gaming? All I'm really going to do on this computer aside from gaming is possibly streaming via Twitch.tv, so I dont know if doing that on top of gaming would make 3770k the better choice? let me know!

    3. I've never purchased a SSD and I plan to use it only on the games I play. I heard that putting your OS on it is very useful but I really don't care about boot times if thats all its going to provide... I don't know how many games I plan on putting into it at once (most likely TERA, D3, WoW), however I still might do it if there is enough room and since I've never used one is there something I need to set up to get the best performance out of the SSD when purchased or should everything be ready to go when it arrives? let me know!

    4. Is 850W good enough for my spec? Not quite familiar with whats needed for certain specs so let me know please as well as if the brand I chose from is a good choice.

    5. I'm not that familiar with the CPU cooler brands nor the HDD ones listed so my choice on those wasn't very knowledgeable, don't know if that'll be enough for what I want, open to suggestions based on the customization list from the link I posted below if you have a preferred brand that you think is better.

***http://www.avadirect.com/gaming-pc-c...asp?PRID=24259 (This is the direct link from where I chose my customization so you can see what options I had to choose from)***

Last thing I wanted to mention is my purchase is ethier going to be from AVAdirect or ElifePC, still havent decided. From what I gathered AVAdirect is one of the best out there and back when I made my first thread I was going to go with cyberpowerpc which I'm glad I didn't and did some more research. Anyways, ElifePC is a fairly new company that is sponsoring the NAO tournaments runned in World of Warcraft, which seems pretty cool considering there giving away a prebuilt computer during the next tournament which can be seen on there facebook. It seems there trying to put themselves out there and I was wondering if anyone has purchased from them or know someone who has since they don't have any reviews up except for one on Amazon which I don't know whether to believe or not, same goes for AVAdirect if you have any person experience from them as well let me know!

If I do plan on purchasing from ElifePC I won't know until Thursday when they list all there new options (adding Z77 motherboards and new processors on there customization list) so I guess I'll update this thread if needed, just let me know what you guys think.

***That's about it for now, I tried picking the best brand parts based on reviews and other threads throughout these forums, but like I said I'm open to any opinions/suggestions so feel free to let me know if I should change something and I'll see what I can do!***

I still think you should wait for the new Ivy Bridge CPU's to be released though :P

Hmm, how big of an upgrade would it be and how much more is it going to cost? Also, when are they going to be available on custom built pcs?

Thanks for the replies thus far. I had a question though, if i decide to go with what I listed wouldn't I need a SLI motherboard or SLI/CrossfireX since I'd be going duel gtx 680s? the default one sets me at a crossfirex one only, wouldn't that not be compatible?

Also, is it ok to get a 1200 W power supply even tho its recommending a 900 one? only reason I chose 1200 W is because its a free upgrade from a 1000 W with the deal going on.
The Asus P8Z68 supports SLI, even though the CyberPower website doesn't list it.

A dual-680 system without overclocking will probably peak at around 550 watts. Power supplies typically operate at peak efficiency between 50% and 90% load, so the "ideal" PSU for your system is between 600 and 800 watts or so. A 1200 watt PSU will work, but you'll take an efficiency hit, especially when you're not gaming and only using 120 watts or so (only 10% of that PSU's rated ability). This means a slightly higher electric bill and slightly more heat output.

Speaking of heat, this system will have 3-4 times the heat output of your current one. Just FYI :)

Thanks for the info! I'll prob end up getting 1000 W since I wont be purchasing this until possibly later this week and the deal won't be around, although there might be another one since one ended yesterday with a new one happening today. I plan on overclocking later on when I actually have enough knowledge of how it works as well. Thanks again.

Sorry if these are retarded questions lol.

edit: and in regards to building my own I know it'll save me a lot of money, but I don't have the slightest clue unfortunately. Hopefully somewhere down the road I'll have the knowledge and time to do so, but right now I don't.

posted a message on Looking to get new computer for D3 + other games.
Hey guys, I'm looking into purchasing a new computer for D3 as well as for other games (WoW, Tera, GW2 ect...) and I'm basically a giant noob when it comes to these things so I'm looking for any sort of help.

http://www.cyberpowerpc.com/ This is the site I've been looking at for awhile now. It lets you customize which parts you want and they build it for you at a good price from what I've read. The most I'm willing to pay at the moment is around 2.3-2.4k and so far I've been interested in the following computer http://www.cyberpowe...er_Xtreme_4200/ (Except I would use a cooling fan over liquid cooling).

Basically what I'm asking for is if anyone has time to look over the site and give me feedback on my choice (downgrade/upgrade/change anything in the customization option), or come up with your own build that you would think is good as well. I'm open to any other site as well I guess, but I've found this one to be the most helpful thus far.

This is what I have in mind so far as a final result, not much changed but here it is http://www.cyberpowe...om/saved/1E2UP0 (If you scroll all the way down and click "Save Configuration" it shows all the parts I choose easier)

I don't know anything about overclocking so I didn't pick any of the parts to be OC'ed although there's a Performance Tuning Protection Plan by Intel option. Most of my choices were OC verified parts as I might eventually get myself to learn more about it and actually do it, didn't see a huge price difference so I just went with it. Also I didn't choose any noise reduction technology but I might end up doing so, would like to hear feedback on that as well if possible as in if you ever had to/how much of a difference it made ect... because I never had a noise problem with my current computer.

Basically my goal is to be able to play the following games listed above at max settings, as well as being able to stream while maintaining high settings (still maxed out if possible) without any fps issues or any issues in general for a long time.

These are my current computer specs, also if you plan on helping it would be great to give me a general idea of how big an upgrade it'll be.

Operating System: Windows 2.6.0.6002 (Service Pack 2) Windows Vista Home Premium 64 bit.
    CPU Type: Intel® Core™2 Quad CPU Q6600 @ 2.40GHz
    CPU Speed: 2.42 GHz
    System Memory: 4 GB
Video Card Model: NVIDIA GeForce 9600 GT
    Video Card Memory: 2.23 GB
    Video Card Driver: nvd3dum.dll
    Desktop Resolution: 1680x1050
    Hard Disk Size: 298.09 GB

    Any help is greatly appreciated!

posted a message on 2v2 it just feels right!
I chose 2v2 because I just think it would be the most balanced and really show how coordinated players really are, who stands out more as a team, and who has more experience in general. 3v3 and above just seems to chaotic to me to be honest. I just wish blizzard would make a ladder system that would award a certain percentage of players every season to actually make it competitive, atleast for the people who don't know a large group of players who run there own tournaments ect...the reward itself doesn't have to be amazing, I think with a ladder system with actual ranking it would give D3 a longevity of competitive PvP.

Just to be clear, there are 2 different dyes, and you get one random one with the collectors edition? So if you wanted both and say your friend bought one its still 50:50, you don't PICK which one you want? Random chance even before I play the game :D, love it!

    ...what?

I really hope the ingame dyes and the tyrael looking wings that come in the collector's edition are not a one time use or even several time use for that matter. I hope you can use it as much as you want seeing as how gear is going to continue to drastically change and also considering that most people will make atleast one of each class eventually to max level. Can anyone confirm if its infinite uses or one time use?

posted a message on Diablo 3 Has Officially Been Pushed Back
I'm pretty damn sure their only doing this to compete with SWTOR or any other upcoming big game, seeing as SWTOR will probably get pushed back to early 2012 as well. They just wanna hold back till a big game comes out. Besides maybe the RM AH and a few AH bugs in general, everything else doesn't seem that bad. It seems they just recently fixed alot of scaling as well especially with the DH, and it shouldn't take the next 3-4 months to fix AH bugs ect.. Thats just pathetic considering this game was announced in 2008 and provides less content/resources as WoW, which has had 3 expansions RELEASED in the span of 3 years, close to 4 now. I know people hate WoW being compared to D3, and im no WoW fan but about 2ish, maybe 2 1/2 expansions of WoW provides more content/resources as D3 will as a whole game, and there already planning on announcing the 4th expac at blizzcon, while D3 doesnt even have a official release date yet, other then being "Early 2012". They even published the item database already among other things. There really shouldn't be an excuse not to release it by the end of 2011, it's really retarded tbh.

This is probably the 1st rant post I've ever posted after playing mmos/rpgs for 10ish years, if you even wanna call it a rant post, to me its just blizz being greedy, and I understand its good for the business but at the same time it shouldn't take a hack and slash game that provides maybe 4-5 hours per difficulty to take from June 28, 2008 to Early 2012 to release.
