can any 1 explain whats that LowFX cus i cant understand a thing..
It's largely just the quality and complexity of animations in the game. Take death animations for example. If a barb smashes a zombie across the screen we see limbs/bones flying off in different directions with ribbons of blood and other particle effects. Multiply this by dozens of monsters on screen and it can really tax your graphics. Checking the LowFX will just simplify these animations and increase performance.
Someone suggest a good contest idea and maybe I can give a key away here. I've been finding lots of negative attitudes towards beta key giveaways because of their nature (and redundancy) over the past 3 or 4 months. :\
I'm glad to hear this. Months ago I posted on the Beta Feedback forums that scrolls of companion should be removed because of the same reasons they gave. Also, having these scrolls in the game makes the gold collection radius a completely useless stat/affix. I agree with the reforging removal as well simply because it makes finding and IDing an item more exciting instead of "oh well, I can always reroll it anyways". Thanks for sharing this update! =]
Well at least they're not inherently screwing anything up. None of the changes announced in his post are actually that game changing. But I'm inclined to agree with the pessimists in that Jay's post is hinting at further delays. =[ Oh well, I maintain my mentality that it will be worth the wait... I've been eagerly waiting since the Summer '08 trailer.
Your character updates the b.net servers whenever you do anything from buying or selling items, moving things in your inventory, killing enemies, reaching checkpoints, and so on. If you lose power or internet sporadically the aforementioned will not be effected but it will likely not save you from death. In this case, your character remains idle for 7-10 seconds before disconnecting from the game. This will eliminate the "chicken" tactics found in D2's hardcore mode.
For one reason or another (probably reading it somewhere random) I have always been under the impression of a Q1 release date.. I thought i heard this somewhere official way back when they announced the delay. Delaying it 4 months or more from their original estimate is pretty extreme IMO. It looks like we/ll know about 2 months before launch which places a high probability between Jan 20 and Jan 31 for a spring release. I never thought even this day would come :^?
I'm sure I will play through with all 5 eventually. I'll probably save the Witch Doctor for last just because they are least appealing to me at this point. I think the WD will be nerfed in the coming patches. Also he/she is slow and I have never really been a fan of summons. D: Despite this, I'm a huge fan of all 5 classes and will spend ample time with each.
Afaik dual wielding any weapons will grant your char a 15% attack speed bonus, to compensate for the fact you need to keep upgrading two weapons instead of one.
I don't think it needs to compensate for anything
It just makes sense. Obviously the total number of swings per minute (or whatever) increases when you're swinging two weapons instead of one.
It depends on the DPS of the weapons individually. If you have high DPS on a one handed weapon then adding a weak second weapon will actually decrease your total DPS. The weaker weapon brings down the average damage output. When using two identicle weapons the results are different. Dual wielding two of the same weapons will not double your total damage output but it will increase it marginally.. Total DPS on your character page may go up by 10-20%. I think deciding to dual wield will depend heavily on what skills you plan to use... like whirlwind!
When I first got my hands on the beta I had topped out at about 20-25k gold but I also spent a bunch on my stash. I had 2 full pages which costs like 25k gold as well. Also, this is all from the beginning of act 1. Accumulating gold for the artisans won't be difficult but the materials is another issue completely.. The top tier recipes require materials from salvaged level 7 runestones!
