Its funny how Bashiok's statement disregard the fact that your new Diablo game has switched genre to MMO. Silly you, didn't notice? Your previous games did not support modding, but allowed it, and from it many things grew, like so many other games have modding communities growing in the dark and every single peasant would not have the faintest clue as to how much of an impact and a difference all this modding in any game has done, how many people it brought in to new things, and how many ideas it brought to life. No, you just have these people bashing modding, instead. Beautiful.
I don't really care what they come up with, Diablo has switched genre and has such, does not allow modding. (don't bother me with UI "mods", why are they even called mods is beyond me).
And the genre switch is really the whole travesty here.

Branmuffin posted a message on Hardcore Graveyard idea.I've never played hardcore much (a few levels in D2) but I also really like this idea. Maybe add an option to watch the last 30 seconds of their life or something, too. That would be really awesome.Posted in: Hardcore Discussion -

proletaria posted a message on inferno mode, end-game or filler? (att. Sixen)Inferno is endgame, but even with four players it's not as organization-heavy as raiding or even a heroic dungeon.Posted in: Diablo III General Discussion
Each is a successful metagame in it's own right, I don't see a reason to criticize one over the other. We're talking about apples and oranges. Clearly a raid paradigm isn't for D3. Clearly such a casual approach to endgame doesn't work for WoW.
Endgame is ultimately what you make of it. Blizzard has provided 100x more "endgame," content than they had with D2 and yet I spent years playing D2. Personally, I don't see a negative. Yeah, ultimately every gear-driven rpg is a hamster-wheel that you run over and over again. What's new? Where is the cause for concern or debate?
I feel as though i'm being presented with a blue sky and have been told it's somehow gone wrong. -

It's more or less making fun of all the drama surrounding Diablo III. Just look at some of the thread topics if you need a hint.

You don't have a fucking 5 month buildup for a few rehashed images that probably took one guy ten minutes in Photoshop.
Seriously, if they'd switched this one with any of the other milestones it would have been better... -

The geopolitical ramifications of cold-based magicks in the easing of fresh-water shortages caused by tainted wells in back-water, demon-infested towns.
That's why he was lobbing fireballs at you; to throw you off the scent -- he wanted all the credit.
That, or he was protecting his stash of "Succubi Gone Wild..." in which case, using fireballs wasn't such a bright idea, so maybe not.
But, then again, he was "the Mad," so maybe so... - To post a comment, please login or register a new account.

This has brought me to wonder, as I am sure many of you may have wondered in the past too.
1. How much (if any) effect or mentioning of the events that happened in the non-cannon diablo books will be mentioned in Diablo 3. (or reffered to)
2. Do you want these tie -ins from the non-canonical books to occur in D3 at some point?

You guys seem like a great community with a wealth of insight into everything diablo.
I basically am a little tired of SC2 at the moment and went to get back in RPG's. (been playing FF1, and D1 lately, as you can tell graphics don't concern me)
Nice to meet you all!
