I have just recently started to play D2 again in anticipatio nof D3. I have a couple Barbs that I run, and am interested in joining BoD. I play USWest Ladder SC. Typically I play in the evenings 10Pm central time on. Occassioanlly i have an opportunity to play during the days.
And i dunno if the books will made into the game. A wall of words in the middle of a dungeon is not something that execly fits this "fast pace" phylosophe.
Well, lets think about this. Diablo// and Diablo 2 LOD both had tomes/books of knowledge throughout the dungeons that the characters could learn from. So I dont really know how you think that the books dont fit into the games atmosphere. However to each their own!
When I started this post I really wanted to inspire others to dig deeper into the books. The sin wars really builds up all of the main characters, from inarius to bul kathos, even trang oul. I just watned to see more connectiosn between the Lore from the books incorparated into the game. I think more detail will make for an even more enjoyable game.
I guess when I think about Diablo 2's relationship to in game currency, I think of nothing more than repairs. Gold in Diablo 2 itself really never had any use to me. If I needed some I could run Hell Cows and grab as many armors I needed to sell to repair my gear. I think that Blizzard de-stabilized gold by making it... 1) way to readily available... and 2)completely uneven when it came to an items value in terms of gold.
For example, A completely useless 1 socketed archon plate with 300 base defense being worth 30000 gold in comparison to a flawless gem which has what I thought a much lower drop rate kind od de flated the whole market.
Because of this I think that the users all started to migrate to a form of currency that could have some base value that was defined. Weather it be SoJs or Hrs or ...
Blizzard please create an in game economy that promotes consistency while not bringing any BOE crap to the Diablo Universe!
I want more lore. I know it sounds funny to wish that we had more information when dealing with Blizzard, but I would like more established time lines/events/lineage that directly corelate to Inarius's creation of sanctuary, to where the game sits presently.
I'd like to see a similar system as Diablo II, but I know it will be more integrated into the gameplay and storyline. Also, I would like to see more customization of mercenaries than existed in Diablo II, such as choosing skills and being able to fully gear your mercenaries. I also think it would be interesting (and the likely won't happen) if we could issue in-battle "commands" to our mercenaries, such as telling the mercenary to attack a particular target. This could make battle strategy more complex, but at the same time it may be a variable that they don't want to throw in, or they may deem that adding this extra level of complexity could make the game too difficult to play.
