Am I the only one that thinks hirelings like in D2 is a bad idea for D3?
From what we've seen in the gameplay videos, when you get 4 players on a screen, there's a lot of shit going on. Adding mercs to the mess seems like too much.
Also, I never liked the mercs in D2 anyway... they were inanimate NPCs that didn't know how to not die, so I never got one past Act 1.
totally agree
i was one of those who wanted 8 players like d2, but its really too much information with jst 4
like more the idea of "weak" followers that add lore and a little help with solo play - To post a comment, please login or register a new account.

but u can see at the videos, its jst too much at the screen.. 8 is impossible
5 would be a nice number, as it covers all classes.. but i know blizz tested that and refused

maybe at multiplayer u still have the quests about the followers but once u complete they go to town, so u can hire them when u play alone
at my humble opinion blizz took the best approach with the followers

so less ppl will have them (ends the problem with 8 ppl on screen) and ppl that jst don't want it can spend the gold at other gold sinks (ends the problem that some ppl don't like it but feel in disadvantage)
also hope that blizz make a great ai.. so my barb have a smart enchantress that keep distance and dont die all the time

can't say any better
btw, i'm expecting beta by the first days of august, more 4 months and then LAUNCH
always thought bout a 2011 xmas release and i'll keep that

but i don't see why a room with 10 or 20 ppl jst for trade would be bad.. actually could be a nice feature to a more pessoal clan meeting =)
edit: noone is saying, "no auction house, lets trade old school"... it's jst bout 2 systems that complete each other

there's something at a face to face trade that can't be done with auction house.. the skill to trade with som1 and make a good deal, and for me that was a huge part of diablo.. always remember the day that i started trading with some crap uniques and ended with a legit soj
maybe both systems together could work perfectly, or even another one

any type.. just find a weapon with a lot of "crushing blow" stat and search a wand at the vendors with life tap curse charges
leave something like 15 skill points left and when u find THE weapon, choose the mastery.. seems like u dont have much items at d2

life tap, cb and good ar.. at this order
.. if ur rich go for frenzy (can easily solo ubers), if not.. ww can do the work
0
go for whirlwind, especially if ur playing solo

=) i understand
but sometimes i ask myself.. why d2 was so GREAT if there was so many wrong things, according to blizz, sure wasn't a perfect game.. but for me the best one at all
for me the best answer at this lvl discussion is something between "d299wtflvling way" and the new 60 by the end of hell.. as i said, grinding some days.. but it's actually a minor problem

d2 was hard with really high lvls? yes... but reach 60 at the last boss from hell is jst too much
