That's too boring, when you already have the monk..

posted a message on Stats what are they there for .. really ?
    Quote from "hakcenter" »
There isn't going to be a choice in the gear you wear. It will come down to carbon copy players with 'best of slot' gear. So not a whole lot of customization anyways. You got an auction house, your going to have players farm drops, and then you'll have people winding up with best of slots for levels blah blah blah blah blah.

Not only that, but the statistical system bears no significant role, because it is the items you wear that defines then anyways. You would never even need to know what stats any items provided. You really don't need to know them.

You are simply going to 'upgrade' your item based on damage / armor value, not by the stats it provides. You don't go.. gee my character defiantly needs more dex.. I'm going to go ahead and find me some 'same' item im wearing and swap it out for more dex. Could you imagine such a chore ?.

Items are items, the 'stats' are a mere wupty do bonus. No one playing even the demo cared to look at stats. No one mentioned them, that is exactly how important they are.

Let me give you guys a crazy example:
So we have a futuristic car, that is driven automatically by gps. Does the driver honestly need to see a tachometer, speedometer ? Does the driver need the illusion that they could drive by providing a steering wheel ?

You're missing the point. Stats are just as useful to look at even if they are only supplied by gear. You want to know what the total strength from all the gear you're wearing is, and you want to know the effect of it on your damage output when you hover over the stat (or in a second box under it). It's that simple.

I would play this while waiting for DIII. The music in it is supposed to be really good.

When is it scheduled to release?

i agree, to most ppl a f2p mmorpg with cash shop and other pay features is more appealing than the monthly subscription of wat wow offers

    1. more spare time, if u subscribe to wow, for say 2 months, most likely u'd want to make best use of the 2 months by playin nonstop so u squeeze every bit of juice out of the buck u paid for, leading to: parents yellin, reduced schoolwork quality, reduced reallife social

    2. 'u may pay' is always better than 'u must pay'

ps: wat u guys think the next mmorpg will b? i vote on 'World of Starcraft' lmfao

    World of Farmville? :D

I guess I don't have anything against organization alone, but this just feels like splitting apart what is really not a so active forum at all now. The way it is now it just feels dead, empty and pointless.

True, but this is the kind of structure the forum will need around the time of DIII release/future large DIII-related announcements.

So, they are just doing it ahead of time.

    It'll fill up eventually.

I dont know where you heard that the 58xx series is gonna own the gt300 series.
But i think i would rather buy a 5800 series rather then two 4870x2

Heres a link that shows nvidia is confident that they have the 5800 series beat

    http://www.fudzilla.com/content/view/15535/1/

By technology and specs (if the rumored gt300 info is to be trusted) ati is slightly ahead in this salvo of the graphics card war.

    I've been wondering...

would my current graphics card http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814130356 be able to support this monitor http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824236049 ?

    Thanks for any help.

Yes but don't expect to get decent frames at native resolution while playing any modern games.. you'll have to go down to 1280x1024 to get decent performance. That or 1680x1050 on Low settings, which isn't worth it.

I think two 4870x2's in Crossfire would be more bang for your buck. Although.. wait for the reviews on the 58xx series and see if they are better or if DX11 is worth it.

Broader appeal could also mean it's browser-based. Sounds crazy but financially it's a good niche to expand into.

I really have no idea what they're gonna come up with for a new IP, but I'm sure it'll catch us all by surprise, unless it's Lost Vikings.

Yeah, that's a good point. Hopefully they will find an appropriate death penalty by release.

Did you play on Blackwing Lair by chance?

@OP, thanks for sharing your demo criticisms, good read. No real concern here though, Blizzard has said everything in the demo was made easier or buffed for more fluid gameplay. Also, the skills they provided some of the classes with weren't the most fun to mess around with, and just plain limited in some cases.

cause i heard beta comes out 9/11/09 (tomorrow) and i was thinking i might try to get beta to test out all the classes and see which one i like best :D

So much for your beta. Did you seriously expect one this early?

I tend to alternate between periods of melee and caster preferences in the games that I play. With the last one being a caster in WoW before I quit, my next one will be a melee class.

Between barbarian and monk, I'm leaning towards monk because most of my Diablo II playtime was taken up by my 99 whirlwind barb.

Depending on how cool the 5th class is and how much it deviates from the standard ranged class formula (the more different/unusual, the better), I may or may not play it first.

I have tried real, yoga-type meditation with tibetian bells and sound bowls a few times. Very relaxing and refreshing stuff, although not something I'm interested in doing on a regular basis.

posted a message on What is the most aweful band in existance?
    Quote from name="Camel Clutch" »
I believe the "official" definition of music is melody, harmony and rhythm - and so it actually is true that rap isn't (always) music. Same goes for trance, free jazz and grindcore, to name a few.

Not to sound like a robot or one of those theory fags who read notation instead of listening to the song, "metal" that makes it mainstream isn't music. Nor trance/techno/electronic crap. I'd rather listen to the crappiest country singer in the world than the best trance artist ever. Also whimpering homos with autistic movements like 311, The White Stripes and every single singer-songwriter out there - EUCH, disgusting.

Today's vocalists turn almost any band completely intolerable, the standards really have gone down.

Oh yeah, and Anal Cunt definitely is music. So is Sadistik Exekution.

You have some serious issues, dude.
